Great video explaining QSuites availability! One thing to note - the itineraries in reverse (back to the U.S.) have higher taxes & fees and also has fewer award availability. Cash rates are also generally cheaper to fly out of the U.S. than it is to come back.
Both me and wife got a Platinum Card each, and was able to find availability from Dallas to Bali (stop on qatar) for 100k points each! (Yes both flights in business class!) Did the ex to British airways then transfer points to Qatar for booking First time flying business we are stocked! Your channel is the best! Keep up the awesome content 🙌
Just travelled this Jan from India to IAH via Qsuites one way. Was awesome. Transferred some Chase points when there was some discount and also had to buy some Avios in sale, since I did not have enough and then Transferred it to Qatar. Booked this in June 2022 and was very difficult to get hold of an award flight in Qatar airlines.. But glad I got the opportunity to!
Excellent content! Thanks Max! I came across your vlog this morning and I am already a fan of your content! Can you please provide some tips as to how to use Avios to upgrade flights on Qatar Airways?
A good tip to find award availability is search from a regional US airport that connects to several different airports that fly direct to Doha. For example I live in Buffalo NY and if I search from BUF to DOH I will find multiple routes vs if I just search straight from JFK or PHL
Excellent guide Max! Ethihad released quite a few First class seats last week, I was lucky to reserve one with Aeroplan. I also booked a Qatar First class from Doha a few days ago with AA. Its not the most efficient way to head to Japan, but I guess when opportunities presents itself you have to just book and make plans later. Oh, and did I mention my return flight is ANA the Suite 😀
Nice! How did you find out Etihad released more seats? Did you just stumble upon it or is there somewhere to check for updates? I just searched for the entire rest of the year and could not find a single business class flight from Etihad using Max's method. Does that mean everything is booked up or they haven't released seats yet?
@@paultee9549 It depends on what city you are flying out of. The direct routes from U.S are usually the ones that get booked fast, so you'll want to look for them as far out as possible. Example: Max uploaded a video called Maximizing Air Canada Aeroplan about 6 months ago. And after I finished watching that video I book 2 ticket from JFK - BKK for 95K. The point is, you have to keep checking and book when there is award space available. For the Ethihad first class award space, it was just luck. I was reading Frequent Miler and happens to found out from them. But those First class awards are no longer available. My advice: Keep checking all nonstop cities. Best of luck!
@@paultee9549 Try ORD-AUH. For a lot of my award flight I have to take a positioning flight to another airport. You'll have better chance of securing more award spaces if you try looking at all the airports, and once you locked one in just book a positioning flight to that airport, just make sure your flight timing is right.
Max very helpful video. You were so clear about Qatar not accepting points from Amex ,chase and etc. Max what if you are going to India and you have check in baggage. Does that mean we have to pick baggage at Doha and enter again since we have to buy different ticket for second leg to India . Would appreciate the clarification.
Great video. Summer months are really hard to find. Qatar releases the seats about 360 days in advance so you will never find those on AA or Alaska as they don't show that far out. BA shows about a week behind what is showing on the Qatar site. I spotted some 85K (biz one-way) tickets from India to US late June next year, but my travel windows starts in July. Haven't found anything in July yet. Watching several time every day. Also Amex is running a 30% bonus on Avios tx to BA. So I am hoping some tickets will show up on my lucky day.
Qatar tends to open up there award space as the calendar opens up so keep an eye on it regularly! There are a few dates (not many) in late January from several cities.
another tip is to get some points into your Qatar account and search on Qatar's website. Sometimes they release award space earlier on Qatar's website than on AA.com
I would like to transfer British Avios to Qatar to book Abu Dhabi to Doha for 4 days then fly to Istanbul. Can I book a stopover with points? Or do I have to book separate tickets? Thank you so much for your channel, my go-to UA-cam.
A majority of flights from the U.S. to DOH have Qsuites, but occasionally there are equipment swaps as well. Always try to check the seat map before booking to make sure its Qsuites
BRO IT'S A VERY HUMBLE REQUEST YOU TO MAKE A SPECIFIC VIDEO USING POINTS FROM AND TO INDIA TO US OR EUROPE.... PLS AS MANY INDIANS DONT HAVE A GUIDE LIKE YOU..KEEP MKING VIDEOS..👍
Hello, do all Qsuites in the center aisle merge together? Im seeing some seats have a small arm rest that doesnt seem to go away. Im not sure if this is due to certain airplane models?
I’m planning Seychelles trip March 2024. Hope I snag these. Bummed that they only release 2 seats since we are family of 4. I guess 2 of us has to sacrifice for the other 2 😂
Hey bro, is it possible to book award tickets for someone else with my Qatar points, for example if I want to book a flight for my aunt, would that be possible?
I am currently trying to book qsuites to Maldives. I am looking for April 2024. It seems like all the flights are either double miles or occupied. Do they release the award flights later or is there just a run on flights particularly from the Maldives to Atlanta?
Love video but question! When I search via American airlines for tickets to India it shows, however from British airways (nothing shows). The problem is American airlines shows Qatar tickets for 40k but on Qatar it's 80k if I use aviso for economy ticket. Wondering if there is any other way to find American airlines thru British airways or if others facing similar issue..
Hi Max, I tried doing this with Vietnam and found the two separate legs of the trip like you did but when I tried booking all together, American Airlines changed the airlines and didn’t allow to search for Qatar. Any tips?
Sometimes AA doesn’t agree with the routing that you did so it won’t output the results. If you’ve found the individual legs you can run the search on British airways. If you don’t see it in British airways search on Qatar. Some airline programs are bad at displaying award space depending on the routing. I just ran a test search from ATL to SGN October 23rd AA did not see the award space, but it did see the legs individually BA did not see the award space Qatar website saw the full itinerary ATL - SGN and it was bookable for 95k and $200 in taxes and fees for the outbound flight one way
Aeroplan is not showing any award flight between Europe and India( ethihad/emirates or anyother airlines). Do you know why? I could find between europe and singapore/ middle east).
I see an availability in on a non stop flight till Doha though as soon as I add a connection flight. It disappeared. Check on AA & British airways. Any possible explanations for this?

Hey Sis
What about using AA points for an upgrade on Qatar? How would that work?
That should would be possible. Typically you can't use another airline's miles to upgrade on a partner flight.

Qatar releases award space to Qatar members first. So if you have a Qatar account with a few points in it you can search on Qatar

Most flights between Doha and the US have the Qsuite product. Of course always confirm by checking the seating chart before booking
