That's true. Scotland is real bad for midges although I've had some nightmares on dartmoor by rivers. Yes a case or just the button, if it was like an e cigarette button where you have to click it 5 times in succession to turn it on would work.
No pads no sale for me. Like I said before it's like buying a car without wheels. Come on manufacturers finish your products! I also refuse to buy a tent with a footprint, a tent that's not seem sealed and a tent that only gives you half the required pegs. I wish all others would do the same and then manufacturers would listen and complete their products.
Someone got out of bed the wrong side 🤣 agree though. O was tempted to do the review by saying 'here it is, I can't reciew it cos they don't give you pads' but thought well then I'd just get bitten by the mozzies 😂
@@NoviceWildCamper yeah sorry mate. I've had pretty much no sleep for 3 days. My boys not been well at all. Spent Friday night in hospital with him attached to Oxygen. He's on the mend now thanks fudge. Been up since 4 this morning with him.
Well it seems to have worked however they sent it toward the end of the bug season so not had such a good test. They are also sending me the smaller version without power but will wait till next year to rest that one.
Hi. I've only used the pads I got from amazon. Theyve also sent me the smaller one with their own make of pads now (that they said they didn't do 🙄) so I'm going to test that out later next year in mozzie season.
I have had it out and so far I've had no issues with mozzies or flies. Not really midge or mozzy season though so hasn't had a real hard test but so far it's been fine 👍
I love mine, only gripe is that it doesn’t have a flat arse or a stand for it to stand up so I’m making a stand for it out of mouldable clay that doesn’t crack as it cures
I could have done with 1 of those last nite midge's were out on force where I camped but would have to see how it performs when there's lots of midge's around before I got 1
Really enjoy your videos. Even though, I've been in the outdoors for decades. Plrase keep at it.
Thanks Steve. Much appreciated. 👍
This thing is worth it's weight in gold.
Jury is still out on this. I used it in a heavily infested midge camp and I got bitten to pieces
Very strange that it didn't come with the pads. It would be nice if it had its own case to stop it switching on. The true test would be Scotland lol.

@@NoviceWildCamper that would make a lot more sense. The worst I've had was the river dart.
I bought a separate case for mine which is great, room for the repel and a few packets of refill pads

Ooh shit sorry to hear that mate. Send him my best ❤️
@@NoviceWildCamper cheers Mike. He's on the mend now thank god. I felt so useless not being able to help him though.
Hey mate, how’s it going so far? I’m interested in the device and was wondering what your findings are. Thank you!

How do the pads smell compared to thermocell?

Hi mate, enjoyed the review. Have you had it out again since you did the review and if so any updates on performance. 🙌

I am still undecided on these. I've used a few now from flextail and on one camp I had three of them going and still got bitten 🙄
Do you have the link for the replacement pads?
Hi. Cant put links here so I've put it in the description now 👍
I could have done with 1 of those last nite midge's were out on force where I camped but would have to see how it performs when there's lots of midge's around before I got 1
I'll let taking it with me on future camps for a more thorough test 👍
@@NoviceWildCamper cheers as with a lot of gadgets like this some are just gimmicks be great if it really does work tho
Very useful
Needs more testing but I'm sure it made a difference 👍
Whatis the smell from on the pads.. some kind of essential oil?tea tree , eucalyptus???
Just smells like mozzy repellant. 🤷🏼♂️
@@NoviceWildCamper you mean some chemical like deet, the pads do not have listof ingredients??
I'd say yes similar to deet. The video was 8 months ago, I don't have the ingredients. Sorry.
@@NoviceWildCamper oh, thats too bad, good to know, dont want anything like that
I'm sure you can get some more friendly made ones somewhere.
Hey pal, nice shirt!I really want to get a same one too!
Shirt, you mean the hoody? It's really comfy and the fit is great.
Be interesting to try out with the scottish midge , new sub here 👍🏻🏕
True. I hear they can be buggers!!
@@NoviceWildCamper b 😮
The pads...they really stink. This was enough to write off the product. NEXT!
Can always use another make of pad but I think they'll all be the same.
