Bravo!!!!!!!!!
It's hard to tell which is greater: your skill at restorations or your skill at videography! By the way, all my comments apply to both of you. I would love to meet you and see your work in person, but alas, I live in the United States.
Excellent job my friend. I also like the fact that you: A) Know how to tap holes properly and B) Grease the bearings when you reassemble. A lot of others don't bother and I find it annoying! (Retired aircraft engine /airframe mechanic)
I have only used a block&tackle with Hemp rope. so this will be a great learning for me.. thanks for all your videos. I have to set back and enjoy....Granny90 USA.
i have a whole barn full of pulleys and hoists.. no i feel like i want to do some restoration of my own..thanks for the hard work put into this video. i feel honored to watch
Absolutely beautiful restoration. This is a more complex restoration and chain hoist than I would have expected. But it is a high quality tool, complete with machined gears and quality bearings, so it is well worth the effort to restore. This hoist looks strong enough to lift a house! It looks so good I wouldn't use it. I would want to display it. I enjoy your channel very much and learn new restoration tips from you. Thanks and smiles from the USA.
Essa retauração é interessante. "Ficou perfeita, meus parabéns mais uma vez". Desejo muito sucesso na sua vida profissional. Que o Senhor abençoe todos vocês.
Great work! I really like your channel. One thing though... when you pull the chain out of the hydrochloric acid, you can’t just rinse it with water, because that just dilutes the acid but it’s still acidic. To properly neutralize the acid, you should use sodium bicarbonate.
Well done. You’re a braver man than me pulling that thing apart. Looks great all cleaned up and will last a lifetime. I love the way Veronika’s whole face lights up when she smiles. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
Very nice colour choices - the neutral gray makes the red shine out. I have a tip for cleaning straight screw slots - a piece of hand hacksaw blade (say 5-6 cm long) with the teeth ground off, and ground across at around 30 degrees (like a super thin "plugging chisel") can be pushed or tapped along the slot - does a really nice job.
For some reason, I wasn't expecting gears. And being what it is, of course there's gears! Or bearings. I guess I never thought about what was inside one of these. Umm, that pot you used for the smaller chain kinda looked like an old chamber pot or an old potty training pot. Not sure why I thought that...LOL. The chain looked pretty with the oil covering it like that. I like what you did with the chain after! I love the stop motion animation too! It's 5am and I'm babbly. I found this one fascinating. I hope you and your family stay safe and healthy!
super nice work as always, but man, what a job. I would never take on such a job. probably a good thing you record the dismantling, I would never remember how it all went back together. We often used a similar hoist for pulling engines. Not an engine puller in design but it did the job well enough... tho we had only one place in the shop we could use it where mounting it wasn't a problem.
That was impressive, when I first saw the rusty old piece of crap I thought ' you've got your work cut out here Radek', as always a brilliant result. Best regards to you and Veronika,
Felicitaciones, excelente video. Gracias. Saludos.
Lovely restoration, looks fantastic. If to be used to its rated weight limit, I'd think about replacing the chain. I'd also like to see the bearing being packed with grease properly, the grease needs to be forced in to the bearings.
I must admit, I was wondering what you could do with this piece. I couldn't stop watching! Such a lot of work. How do you remember what goes where when you reassemble the piece? Another fine job Radek, you really are very talented. Veronica, mind your fingers when you pull on the chain. John
Fantastic work as always. Congratulations¡¡ The container you use for oiling the chain recalls me something I do not fully remember.... I do not know..Hum.
This video brought back memories of tearing down air handlers! I knew you had some use for this hoist! The orange is lovely! What was your wonderful wife raising in the bucket? Since you used one of her soup mugs for the chain work she should get some benifit!
Good work mechanically and aesthetically. For safety you should add a latch to the hook to keep loads from unexpectedly falling. It may not be an issue now but could be later.

Thanks for the information. I thought vinegar was enough. ?!
Vinegar is also an acid...
