For the price, they definitely should have included a full shell that you only need to move the board over to. But really cool that they're doing this at all, thanks for covering it!
Thats what I was going to say. Why not just have everything ready. My snes is really ugly I want a full new case and I think a lot of people would have the same state.
Agreed, way to pricey to make you reuse the eject, cart door, and expansion slot cover especially since they kind of clash with the atomic purple shell. Looks good otherwise though.
It's a shame they didn't add those few extra parts like eject button, cartridge door, etc. Otherwise it looks great. Also wish they had Atomic Orange =)
I would absolutely buy one asap, if they included a full shell. For $119.xx, I expect the grey bits, fresh springs, etc. Otherwise, the inevitable $10-20 knock-off will likely be a nice option.
What are the knock offs you mean? I have one but it needs a new shell. Anything I seen on US ebay that looked like a new repro was in the $50 range. There is an oem yellowed one for $35 ish or so. What should I look up for what you mentioned? Thanks.
@@sokoloft3 as far as I know there aren’t any knock-offs available yet, but I’m sure there will be once someone sees there’s money to be made selling them for less than $120.
@@therealmakmillion I'm having someone 3D print me a shell. There is a file available online on some site. Not the usual thingiverse. They're going to make a video about it and then I'll receive it for my recapped snes.
Looks great. I agree with the other comments about how it'd be even better if you didn't have to re-use some of the original plastic, but still very nice.
I bought a clear shell from RGR last year. My only complaint was that the screw holes were not pre-tapped. The original screws Nintendo used do not have the strength to self-tap as you screw them in, so I highly recommend you PRE-TAP YOUR HOLES with a very small drill bit prior to trying to screw anything down.
This is a beautiful case. The NA snes should definitely have the atomic purple case. It would look even better if the cart door was atomic purple too though.
The thought of atomic purple shell has never crossed my mind for SNES. It looks amazing. Only if I still had mine, I'd do this! (I gave it to my brother).
The SNES Atomic Purple shell looks very awesome and it’s something on my mind to purchase along with a used SNES console so I can restore and use it to play the best games from my childhood and stream them.
Atomic purple 💯% that clear purple paired with the original purple power/reset is really nice. I wonder if they could match the texture of the og controller to be that sorta rough style feel it would help it not be quite as smooth and maybe help darken the color a bit. would look good.
Use a hair dryer and a razor blade and gently transfer over the original stickers from the old shell to the new one. Original warranty stickers and stuff would look cool on a repro shell.
I plan to get one of these next year when i get some bills paid off. My SNES fell from a shelf and the case was so brittle it broke into 20 pieces. I hope someone comes up with a DIY SNES like they did with the NES.
Looks real nice. Now let me tell you what I want. What if someone made something stackable, just like a Hi-Fi stack? One component for each console, with cartridge ports in the front. Expensive? Yes. Cool as hell? Also yes.
Not bad. I prefer translucent to transparent myself. Its also kind of a bummer they didnt give replacement cartridge door and eject buttons to match the rest of the shell. Them being gray makes them look way out of place.
Only issue is if you need a new shell because the old one was damaged or missing parts... old game door missing etc. Would be nice if an option to include some of the port covers/game door were also available.
Man does this look fantastic!!! It really pops with the purple buttons! Unfortunately I’m out at $120… that’s a bit ridiculous. Maybe if it was closer to $40-50.
even 40 is too much. i can find a working snes in serviceeable condition for 100. how is just the shell worth 40? i could find a broken snes for parts on ebay and have a new shell for next to nothing.
What screwdrivers did you use to remove everything from the inside? Mine is all brittle and I want to get a replacement but not sure what i would need.
I think this looks really cool, but I don't think it is worth the price tag. I mean, maybe if I had my original shell break and I needed a replacement to keep it alive, but even then the price seems so high. I mean it is really good looking and you can tell they worked hard to make it high quality, but not really where I would want to spend my money.
Looks outstanding! I'm a huuuuuge fan of the transparent cases in consoles and controllers. Is that plastic the non scratch type though? Some oil those plastics used are super easy scratch magnets? How does that one fare?
Inside my SNES, loose and falling around everywhere, I got a strange white plastic dome with a peg sticking out the top... looks like a smokey white nipple, lbs. Or an igloo with chimeney, perhaps. Is it maybe a LED diffuser??? Any ideas what it could be or where it goes??
These are well worth the price. Super high quality build. Also many of the old SNES consoles are turning yellow these days so its nice to have these options.
7:31 Communication Port A.K.A. "Nintendo PlayStation Connector" all jokes aside this is the case I didn't know I wanted. do they make this for the "Classic Consoles"?
About 15 years ago I got clear yellow case for my original XBOX for $20 on Ebay. Clear N64 case is $35 on AliExpress right now. $115?? I need to think about it...
with this many people saying it's way over priced, you think they hear it? nah, me neither. would someone just put one of these together for 20 buck yet? cuz i'm not buying til you hit my pricepoint. one day these will be 5 buck, cuz absolutely every snes will need one.
The plain clear ones look a little too much like those prison electronics. I'm not a big fan of purple but that ine does look really good. REALLY good.
For the price, they definitely should have included a full shell that you only need to move the board over to. But really cool that they're doing this at all, thanks for covering it!

Crazy tax can't wait to scoop these bad boys on Alibaba by the end of the yr for 2.99$ shipped 🤣

Nba jams all day long SNES nostalgia! 90s was beautiful.

I agree
My childhood, but how I wanted my SNES
It would have so cool if they did this for sure
That Atomic Purple looks so good. It fits perfectly with the color theme of the US Super Nintendo.
The thought of atomic purple shell has never crossed my mind for SNES. It looks amazing. Only if I still had mine, I'd do this! (I gave it to my brother).
I was literally just looking at these. Seems like I need to get one now haha
"Atomic Purple" reminds me of when I got an N64 for Christmas, and one of the controllers was that color. Pretty nostalgic!

$115 for a plastic shell is ludicrous. To each their own, I suppose.
why would you go to all the trouble of producing the thing, if you're only going to sell 3? that sticker price is a fcking joke
Funtastic model consoles and handhelds always look amazing.
This looks GORGEOUS!!! I wish they had one for the sns 101 model, I would definitely swap out the original shell for this
ETA PRIME never disappoints. Great Job!
The cart door also being transparent would have been great. Still a lovely mod.
Huge fan of atomic purple, and it looks really great there. I would love to do this to my SNES and NES some day.
Looks cool 😎
I have the clear one but Damn that Atomic Purple looks really nice. I still think it should be priced at or below $80 instead of $115
Wish it was $20
I love translucent shells especially in my handheld consoles
Love it but ain't paying 100 bucks for a shell....
I think the atomic purple matches the original color scheme for the SNES best
If they made shells for the controllers, that would be GREAT!!
can't wait for new 3ds xl custom shells to pop in popularity
Use a hair dryer and a razor blade and gently transfer over the original stickers from the old shell to the new one. Original warranty stickers and stuff would look cool on a repro shell.
💥👍🐸👍💥
looks AWESOME, i really like the clear but that Atomic purple looks great...
Pretty cool. I just think the eject button, cartridge slot cover and controller ports should be in Atomic Purple too.
I've always been a fan of the atomic purple.
I used to have the gameboy color that was purple like this super nintendo in this video when toys r us were available in stores.
Pass on that price
nah, fk that price, they must be joking.
That is the most beautiful console I've ever seen
Atomic Purple shell looks really good on the NA SNES!
I need the clear CLASSIC MINI!!👍BEEN WAITING FOR THESE
Beautiful. I’d prefer a frosted atomic purple though, a bit too glossy
Wow it looked beautiful
Looks stunning
Atomic Purple for sure.
A very cool design. When you change into a new shirt, it looks very nice. I like it!
I would love to see a 3ds shell like this
Really hope they do a nice non-light blue. I've got a broken SNES I wouldn't mind working on.
I plan to get one of these next year when i get some bills paid off. My SNES fell from a shelf and the case was so brittle it broke into 20 pieces. I hope someone comes up with a DIY SNES like they did with the NES.
FYI RGR now has the extra SNES parts: EXT port, Controller port, cart door.
Still no damn eject button though.
Looks real nice. Now let me tell you what I want. What if someone made something stackable, just like a Hi-Fi stack? One component for each console, with cartridge ports in the front. Expensive? Yes. Cool as hell? Also yes.
0:46 eta when he is about to be intimate with a new partner and is checking it out
Not bad. I prefer translucent to transparent myself. Its also kind of a bummer they didnt give replacement cartridge door and eject buttons to match the rest of the shell. Them being gray makes them look way out of place.
I want *everything* in Atomic Purple.
See through shells are quite popular in prisons as well. 😀
would love a video showing g off your snes collection
Only issue is if you need a new shell because the old one was damaged or missing parts... old game door missing etc. Would be nice if an option to include some of the port covers/game door were also available.
over $100 for a shell? Thats insane. i was thinking about getting one, assuming it was like $40....hard pass
even 40 is too much, you know it's the cheapest plastic they can possibly get away with. it always is with stuff like this.
Man does this look fantastic!!! It really pops with the purple buttons! Unfortunately I’m out at $120… that’s a bit ridiculous. Maybe if it was closer to $40-50.

Wish it were more frosted to give it a more authentic atomic purple look
Geez now I dont have to risk blinding my eyes just to have it re yellow back
This is my favorite console ❤
What screwdrivers did you use to remove everything from the inside? Mine is all brittle and I want to get a replacement but not sure what i would need.
I would dye all the gray parts black. wish it was more of a textured/matte/frosted finish.
Aww, they do a conversion kit for the Bandai mini saturn model to accept the CM4 but it's out of stock. Wish I'd known about that earlier. :(
As much as atomic purple is nice I think it should have matched the funtastic purple on the n64. Would be nice to be consistent for collectors.
Yeah I agree its waaaaay too shiny. Matte would look much better.
Fantastic!
Wish they had a smoked clear. The just has black clear.
I'm not a fan of atomic purple like you are but that looks really good!
don`t forget the bottom labels
I think this looks really cool, but I don't think it is worth the price tag. Don't mind the case. If it's taken up space rather have a multiplatform with it also.
atomic purple all day. great video.. Now that we are 32 years in the future is there any use for the communication port?
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT 🥰🥰
Kinda bummed you had to transfer over some gray pieces, but like the shell as a whole. Also kind of disappointed there isn't the cart lock mechanism.
Looks outstanding! I'm a huuuuuge fan of the transparent cases in consoles and controllers. Is that plastic the non scratch type though? Some oil those plastics used are super easy scratch magnets? How does that one fare?
the old original case is timeless, you just need to de-yellow the case to make it look like new again
what do you do about the big ass hole my thumb put through it because it's old and brittle?
I wanted to buy one, but it cost 3 times more than what I paid for the console and 20 games so I had to pass lol
This nintendo was so advanced, it has a pcie gen 4 already
hilarious "No Super Nintendos were harmed in the making of this video." 👍

I love atomic purple too 💜 I want ps5 case
These are well worth the price. Super high quality build. Also many of the old SNES consoles are turning yellow these days so its nice to have these options.
Looks nice. Now if only it cost ~80% less, then it might actually be a decent product.
What screwdriver is that?
Looks great!
I'll check out their site to see if they've got N64 cases...
This is cool!
Need matching SNES jr
Every SNES is gonna need a shell swap eventually...
So bad ass!!!!!
STEAM DECK SHELL!!!
No love for Atomic Purple or Smoke Clear for the Super Famicom model? Also us PAL users?
My snes shell has parts broken off it, so this seems cool, expensive... but cool :P
Where's rubber feet for new sheLL?
This is Great For one Main reason besides looks. Most Snes's these days have that faded yellowish tone that makes you not want to buy one
Lol no SNES were harmed hahaha :)

Hi. Just out of curiosity, do you write scripts or do you record the video first and then voiceover?
