Thanks Randy! 4 years later and still very helpful to us who are not yet "Nodal Ninjas" Like you yet. Your photos are inspiring and fantastic. Will be taking your advice around my island - Kauai. Thanks, Vard.
Short, sweet and simple - Excellent demo on how to setup for a pano along with the best method I have seen for finding the "No Parallax Point". Thank you so much!
Thank you for perfect explanation of Nodal Ninja setup and parallax. You mentioned that you are using 70mm lens. Is wide angle lens better for panorama? what is the differece between a shot that is taken using a 70mm and wide angle like 8mm or 15mm?
Dude , i like your style, this means also with the nodal ninja angle rotator that also have i can use not only the canon 8-15mmm i can use other lenses, in your opinion what else is the sharpest?
Hey Randy, great video. I am working with a full frame 5D4 and a manual Samyang 12mm lens. Seems I have to bring the camera right the way back to achieve no parallex... literally, just behind the fisheye lens itself... a mm or so... is what lines up below with the the tripod top plate centre. Is this usual? Seems a long way back when I look at the difference between what I'm doing and your lens (though admittedly you're working with a different focal length by far). ALSO... how accurate does it need to be for the stitcher software? VERY accurate or within a hare's breath? Kindest, Neale
I am learning and practicing landscape photography. I use a D7000 and Sigma 17-50 F2.8. It's what I have for now. Who makes "Leveling tripods" with the one flip lever lock/ ball joint (Right between the legs) for leveling the main platform? That is really cool vs. leveling by having to use the legs. Faster anyways. I can't count how much time is lost leveling the legs while re positioning to catch sunset shots (or any shots for that matter). I am a beginner trying to get my hands on "All Sorts" of equipment but don't have all sorts of funds needed for it all. So, if there's a "Sufficient" (Maybe heavier and not as sexy) tripod that has that feature, I'd appreciate the recommendation(s). Thanks much. - Gary
hi, i've watched a video, about a camera called "How RICOH THETA " and it should take picts and video 360 degree, so what is the different between this camera and the tools like(digital camera, tripod, panohead & fisheye lens? can you please tell me?? thanks
Gitzo GT2540LLVL Series 2 Carbon Fiber Leveling Tripod is the leveling tripod tha i show here in the video. You can get it from B and H photo or just google it. Thank You!
anyways, thanks for mentioning that its better when the close point for parallax aim is close, and the far point as far away as possible.. ..most people show how they aim two poles that are like 2 or 3 meters away from each other.. and that way i never got it perfect. cant wait to try my new setting i got with your hint.. ( which is only 1,5 millimeters back from the old setting i had )
Well explained indeed! That was really bugging me. Annoyingly though, it seems like an awful lot of effort and setting up to achieve the image. I wonder weather or not conditions might change too much in the time it all takes! ;-)

This video was upload in 2012, now is 2016 and I found it very useful, Thank you very much +Randy Hufford, you are a true teacher.
Wow,that is one of the best explanations i have seen of the nodal point and parallax error. Thanks a million.
as Greg Tank said, short, to the point and easy to grasp, thanks Randy
Great video man!!! Thnak you!!!exactly what I was looking for!
A really good video! Informative and well presented. Your personality shines through!
Some great explanations! Well done!
Really nice tutorial, finally understood the concept, thanks!

I AGREE!!! You explained it clearly sir, thank you so much for your excellent tutorial!!!!!!!!!
Hi Malte, Yes i found that my alignment is perfect. It is amazing how well this works.
Great video Randy. Do you use a fish eye lens? Is it necessary?
Yes this demo was a fish eye but it is not necessary.
you sir are a legend! love the shirt and the tash. very good informative video. thank you very much for this

Se yes is possible. If you did this procedure and lined up a close and far away object this is possible.
Make is as close as possible. Easier stitching.
Thanks Randy, just stitched our first today with some help - seems to have been a success!
Thank You , I really liked the tape parallax trick ;)
Best Regards,Didier
Great demo. Thanks!
Lovely little dog in the window.
Thanks! This saved my life.

Sir: Thank you so much for this nice tutoríal. Please, let me ask a question. Where I can get the Second Part, thanks in advance
You explained it clearly sir, thank you so much it helps! I share it also to my facebook - Cheers!
very informative - thank you!

do you ever get the setup so precise that you never have to fix paralax errors in photoshop afterwards ??
Malte Maas yes
It works really amazing
cool. but it is a matter of getting the camera to the exact millimeter on the nodal adapter until you get flawless stitches, right ?

Thanks this really helped.
MIght have been a better demonstration if you took video using the 5d to show the parallex adjustment.
Nice camera!
It is not clear what are degrees of a head
v good point
chupacabra sighting at 8:00
Thank You!!
BRAVO
why not just measure the focal length of the lens from the sensor/film mark on the camera? That's optical center, your pivot point.
Isn't it Parallax?
Sorry, but I couldn't stop staring at the camera at the left...
I don't know what the No Parallex Point is. And therefore I will not watch your video. I never want to know that.
