The low-key scolding from dtr to Mother makes this whole movie worthwhile. That young girl spoke to her mother in the way I have never seen in a Nollywood movie. So satisfying.

Seriously til we start putting parents straight when they get it wrong we keep having adults walking about with trauma wounds. I cleared my mum and made her aware of how emotionally abusive she was , she saw the light and til date anytime she beers down there by herself she catches it and says sorry immediately. That is how it should be when there is love. You avoid hurting others and make amends when it happens.
I was pissed at the woman, until her daughter began to talk. Somehow, it calmed me.
You guys are lucky oh, everytime I want to discuss this trauma wounds with my parents they end of gaslighting the issue, when I got engaged it was hell because they don’t like the guy and felt I should have gone for someone else, I felt so trapped, I was engaged for about 8months trying to talk things out with my siblings and parents who felt my parents were right l.. before introduction that still came with conditions…. In real life this pain is very traumatizing especially when you know you love this person and your family is hell bent on not agreeing

This movie really touched me. I made me to deeply reflect my role as a single mother. The too much sacrifices we make for our kids sometimes comes with resentment, anger and bitterness. Deep reflection is powerful for those who are willing to do it. Transformation is a daily practice. I am so glad his mother saw the error of her thinking and behavior and was willing to change. What a heartfelt, relatable, and entertaining movie! The quality of production and acting is top-tier! One more thing...I love how the music complimented the scenes and did not overpower them. Just fantastic cinema!

At some point, i forgot this was just a movie. I was looking for a way to get into my screen and give Chibuike’s mum a piece of my mind. Like I was so angry with her and how Chibuike couldn’t stand up for his woman after all the love and respect she shows him regardless of her financial status and being her boss. At the end of day, if this movie didn’t get to me the way it did, then I wouldn’t have been a great movie. All the cast ate and swallowed their roles without leaving any crumbs. Thanks Omoni for giving us back to back hit worthy of our time and data. More inspiration to your creative mind♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

As young women who are more exposed to trends, I feel our roles include bringing our mothers up to speed like Cheluchi did. Trust me, even though they might argue and feel disrespected, what we say actually sticks and they'd try to accommodate new methods of thinking, accepting more differences and even seeing how they were resentful.
I never keep quiet about these things because I know I'm advocating for not just someone but for myself someday. Imagine if her daughter eventually doesn't get married before 30 but is successful, the mom will likely see her as "expired goods" too. This is why it's important.

I love the story line, it’s relatable to most African homes and mother’s especially. Bimbo is an exceptional actress and Eso dike is a fine gentle man. Let’s not forget ESO’s sister, she played her role so well. Infact everyone played their part well too.
The actress that played "Cheluchi" needs her own lead role, she came in as a silent contender but really was the hero of the movie. Love, loved it. The cast, storyline and learning points were really great and the chemistry whoosh...i never imagined the click, yall did great. Go bimbs...i watched for my girl but stayed glued for everyone, really great cast
As parents especially mothers we make sacrifices for our kids, even to the extent that along the way those sacrifices cause us to give up what we most hold dear. When we make those sacrifices we have to learn to live with the consequences weather good or bad. But not to the point as to letting them make us bitter, angry and regretful. We should be happy for our kids and love them unconditionally.
They didn’t ask us to come into this world, neither did they ask us to make the sacrifices we made for them.
I totally agree with Cheluchi she was right in speaking up to her mother, someone needed to point out her wrongs to her.

I like the fact that Desmond's mum came to terms with reality and admitted her wrong. Truth of life is sometimes the people we make sacrifices for, might end up not appreciating it in the long run.
Moral of the storyline, never put your life , dreams and aspirations on hold because of family or friends, because you might end up with regrets and bitterness like Desmond's mum.
As for Bimbo, she's a power lady, she never gave in to age rush, pressure from Desmond's mum to give up her company to Desmond just before she can accept her as a daughter-inlaw. My kind of girl, I salute your courage, you know your worth.

I think even if we sacrifice for our children we shouldn't use it against them or hold them accountable for our sacrifices. We chose to have kids and we assume the role as parents and shouldn't hold it over our kids head all their lives to get our way.
How badly did I want her to come in when she brought the “big cake” 😩 Kai love ehnn. I love how the movie portrayed the fact women can love, without having to loose themselves.
Most times, parents try to transfer their insecurities and fears on the children. As children, this shouldn't be allowed. We should be allowed to make our mistakes and learn from them.
I like that Genevive stood her ground and didnt allow her mother-in-law trample on her and Desmond should have stood up for his babe earlier.

Watching from USA. Bimbo Ademoye, Eso Dike and Blessing Onwukwe are all great in this movie. I love how African men are matter of fact about their love interest. I love how they are intentional with their women. I love how it doesn't take them forever to find love and act on it. They can teach American men a few lessons about being intentional and direct. Why can't African men stand up to their overbearing manipulative mothers to protect their women? Are they scared of being disowned? What will be there crime? In America there will be fire in the house if our men didn't check their mothers on disrespect. Our men also do better at covering their women with protection. This is definitely a good watch.

Gosh, I usually don’t comment under the movies I watch on UA-cam, but this one particularly got under my skin and I just had to. The mother in law was soooo annoying, Jesus. She really wanted her to give up her company for the man?? And why was she so hell bent on the age thing? I couldn’t wrap my head around it. I had to keep reminding myself that she was just acting so I wouldn’t cuss her out lol. The fact that these things happen in real life is so heartbreaking. The movie was lovely, all the actors ATE their roles (especially the sister) and it felt very real too. Thank you for this❤.

And also not a song on repeat telling the beginning, middle and outcome of the movie. That's something as a Westerner I truly cannot tolerate in these African movies.
