Woooow, that is one of the best live performances ever. You can feel all the emotions and it's so rare to see artists who actually mean what they sing. His father is absolutely proud, wherever he is right now
I can see his father in that empty chair on stage clapping saying I love you too son. Choked up but it is real shit right there. 2 and half years since my dad passed from Covid at 90 years, my last words were (3 times) I Love you, Dad!
1 1/2 years and can't believe how much I didn't say. But we were in tune. I think he knew. But you never get the last chance and that is when I feel worst.
My brother loved this song. He unexpectedly passed away ten years ago today. I listen to it every year on his anniversary. He was a great human being. We love you, and we miss you Wayne.
Dad would have been 96 this week. Gone since 1990. Now I am nearly the same age he was when he first started getting sick. Time is really starting to hit hard.
Honestly I have to say that I have to fight back the tears watching this performance. People like me, who have lost their parents can truly feel the pain. Thank you for a very emotional, very special moment. See you in Hamburg in September.
My best friends dad died last year. This song was his therapy. I learned it on piano just to play at his benefit. You have helped in the healing without even knowing. His name was Ben Hostetler, and he was a great man. God bless.
Thank you, Chris. My father passed away a month and a half before "Folklore and Superstition" was released in 2008. And "Things My Father Said" resonated with me right away the first time I heard it. I almost couldn't make it through the entire song. I'm so sorry for your loss and this song helps me through the days I miss him.
That was one son who truly loved his dad hearing him nearly crying as he sings a lesson for life. Never take anything for granted. Appreciate everything you have because it can easily be taken from you ❤
My eyes are full of tears...My mother passed away last April...and my father is lost...I would like to say how I feel...but...no words...The music and Black Stone Cherry are my ligththouse in all my daily storms... Thanks so much for your music...🙏🙏❤️❤️
My mother passed away in June of 2019 and my father steadily drank himself to death the past four years. My brother found him dead on the floor this March 25th. I had a fight w him about his drinking the last day that I saw him and his last words to me were get the F out of my house and my last to him were the answer to your pain isn’t in the bottom of an empty whiskey bottle and you just traded your daughter for a bottle of whiskey 😢
We sang for you in Birmingham, we have followed you guys for years, our drummer was your tech at JB's in Dudley. But, you just made me cry in front of my mother in law. Chris. Those tears were for you, and your daddy. ABSOLUTELY heart breaking, and beautiful. #Dudley guy.
My grandpa passed away on December 23rd of 2020 and I remember when I got the news I fell to my knees and cried. He wasn’t just my grandpa he was my father figure. Only father I knew my entire life. I love my dad but nothing replaces the bond I had with him and every time I hear this song I just lose it. So thanks for always making music with your heart and soul and keep on being you.
I also lost my father earlier this year. He is the reason I became a lifetime fan. Your band became one of his favorites before he passed and he would play and send me your music almost everyday.
Saw these for the first time last week in Manchester. One of the most underrated bands on the planet, waoted a long time to see them. Chris played this and it hit the arena with a hammer of emotion. Un fucking real... Black Stone Cherry. Thank you for turning a tattooed 38 year old in to a crying mess ❤
Seen BSC more times than I can count. Always a meaningful song at any show. Sadly, I haven't seen the boys since Chris' dad passed, but I can honestly say, this is probably the most beautiful version of this song I've ever heard/seen.
At 6 yrs old I watched my daddy get wheeled out of the house on a gurney when the emts came. He called me to him, gave me a kiss, said he loved me and that was the last time I seen him alive. For a year he fought Dr after Dr because they wouldn't listen to him about the medical issues he had. But the time the problem was found, it was too late. He died on the OR table. He was 42,passed away Nov 26th 1985,he was buried on Thanksgiving Day.. My daddy was my world until then. I was with him all day, every day.. I've now lived one more year than he did but the little girl in me still hurts so much. This song, this video, it hits hard. I can feel your pain
This was playing at my Dads funeral. Thank you for the song just wanted to let you know that I know it means the world to you and your family it also means the world to me and mine. Thank you thank you.
I had the studio version of this song as my ringtone for when my father called since I learned he had cancer. I found this version just a day before he passed away. It's tearing me up but I can't stop listening to it.
I heard the album version of this song for the first time on the radio, on the anniversary of my Dads death, it was a good job i had sunglasses on then. This version has just blown me away - I have no words. Thank you for such a powerful song.
What a fucking musician. It must have been so special to see this live, he clearly put everything into that performance and totally nailed it. So cool to see when often they let the audience sing much more of it
I saw BSC, years ago when Hinder was the main, MAC hall in Calgary. BSC stole the show. All heart and soul. Been a favorite ever since. Great job boys.
Powerful. Chris is one of the most soulful, and important voices in rock right now. And if America ever wakes up from their lives of destroying each other, they will figure that out. We're all more alike than we are different. Let the music tell that story. Amazing......
Ouch. When I saw them in Sheffield, these guys allowed the crowd to sing the entire song and to be a part of that and sing along with the band whilst being so close is a performance I’ll never forget. If anyone else was there or when they did the same thing at another venue, you’ll know what I mean. it was incredible.
Lost my dad to covid last april . and it doesn't get any easier im 40 and and have a son that's 20. everything my dad passed down to me in life and taught me. Any man can be a father but it takes a real man to be a dad .....

I lost my father is 2017, and I was able to see you with my dad in spokane when you were there. It was one of the best nights of my life, and the last time my family was all together. Thank you
Lost my father last July and this song always made me emotional before but now it's a whole new level. I can not thank this band enough for writing this song because it says everything I'm feeling and going through for the last year.
An incredible performance. One can truly feel the emotion in his voice. His love for his father is truly eternal. An exceptional performance by an exemplary artist.
One anniversary. A Hall of Fame Man. Happy Father's day, Because your Father will always be there inside of you, guiding you. Loving you. He helped set the path for us to travel upon.

Chris, when you sang that song @ The Bluff in Memphis. I got chocked up myself. I lost my father 6 yrs ago. The shock of finding out was really hard for me to take. We had been talking & my mother passed 90 days before him. He was asking about my brother & before we got a chance to discuss what was going on, he suffered a massive stroke that took his life this time. There's a feeling I really can't explain. That song really hit home. That night it more to me than I realized. Thank you sir. I look forward to seeing BSC again soon. Tired of this COVID-19 crap keeping our favorite bands from doing what we all crave. Hope to see you soon.
i listen to planet rock and when this song comes on i have to pull over if i driving as the emotions always get me. such a fantastic song. i lost my dad in nov 2016. couple of weeks ago we got to see blackstone cherry with the Darkness in Glasgow as they tour UK, was a fantastic feeling and my brother heard the song for the first time, he was surprised to hear you had lost your father too and that it was such a great song for remembering all the dads out there.
Having lost my dad a few years ago this song really resonates with me, was at the 2022 Birmingham gig when he broke down and we sang it back to him, spine tingling moment. Thank you for such a beautiful moving song
What a Song . No autotune or any of that tech BS, just raw passion and emotion, so rare and hard to find artists like these guys nowadays 🔥
Amen...My Daddy was a goodern
Chris is an amazing vocalist.
Powerful sh*t. Got me choked up.
One of the most underrated bands of all time.
Much respect to my Blue Grass brethren.
