Once when I was playing tag with my younger sister in the park, I decided to run up a covered playground slide while she was chasing me. It was the most terrifying experience of my life without actually having my life in danger. The combination of being confined to a small, cramped space, in a place that is nearly pitch black, with rapid footsteps and banging coming from behind me. On top of that, the slide was much slipperier than most slides, both making me stay in the slide for much longer and making me feel more vulnerable. My life may not have been in danger, but I felt like was running for my life in a horror movie. And I was FIFTEEN at the time and I'm not easily scared, and that experience was still utterly terrifying for me.
Reading this honestly made me feel fear. It’s that perfect combination of visual deprivation, hostile terrain, and thundering footsteps right behind you. Climbing up a slide that was way slipperier than you expected kind of reminds me of how some people have nightmares where they’re being chased, but no matter how fast they run they’re always unnaturally slow.

The fact that you can outrun the sawrunner actually adds a lot to him for me. He’s the living embodiment of a panic attack, and he can be easily avoided simply by remaining calm and walking at a normal pace. You can run, but that will only add to the panic and fear that he causes. Much like a real panic attack, the best way to get through it is to keep calm

One of my favorite "chase" sequences in a game was the "giant baby monster in the dark" section from Resident Evil 8: Village. I've only ever watched Markiplier's playthrough of the game and that section spooked me so much that it has actually deterred me from buying the game myself!
My two favorite chases in gaming so far are: -For scripted & unscripted, a game called “In Sound Mind”. Having the giant monsters of each level running after you, and the noises that they make (especially in the 4th level, the Forest), is terrifying and makes you feel incredibly helpless As for favorite unscripted, the Nightmare from Prey 2017. The way that it appears with a blood-curdling scream, spots you almost instantly, and then chases you so you have to barricade yourself in a room and hear it trying to bash the doors down is one of the most frightening moments in the game
OH HOLY SHIT I WAS GONNA COMMENT ABOUT IN SOUND MIND TOO!! Its quickly become one of my favorite games of ALL Time and I wish more people knew about it!
Personally, I think a part of this whole chase that REALLY adds to the true fear factor is the reaction of the MC! There are so few games that truly represent how fear affects someone. People don’t simply run and then stop. They run, they scream, they gasp for the air they lost while escaping. The breathing sounds he makes amplify the fear because you KNOW he’s scared! Very good job on the VA for that!
i smiled SO wide when you chose outlast. i’ve been playing and replaying the series for a while, plus i’m a MAJOR nolifer of outlast trials. the sheer tension and panic that red barrels can produce, both scripted AND not scripted, is unmatched in the horror genre imo. honestly, i think amnesia: the bunker is the only other game that has made me feel that way with its chases, both scripted and non-scripted edit: AGGHH FUCK YES I KNEW YOU’D MENTION THE WARD CHASE!! HOLY FUCK LITERALLY MY FAV SCRIPTED SEQUENCE IN HORROR MEDIA
I agree with the Outlast one, but I also have another proposal. The baby's chase from RE: Village on House Beneviento, that sudden change of gameplay loop and atmosphere was smth I would never have expected at a blind playthrough I also have the chainsaw runner from Cry of Fear (altho most of the moments there are a chase, as when the game wants to scare you, it does, it really does)
PuppetCombos Nun game was HORRIFYING. The almost nauseating visual effects and loud bell chimes as this spectre of a dead nun chases you through a grimy church's interior was always the worst chase I've seen.
@@DuskBladeHeart1oothe infamous 911 call scream was *not* a death scream, the person was not killed and likely was not physically harmed at all. Which is good, because to use an actual person’s dying scream for a horror game would be incredibly tasteless
Literally the one reason I have so much trouble getting into horror games is because of chase & stealth scenes. The idea of getting caught just stresses me out and causes me to mess up in games. For example it took me 30 minutes to get through the chase scene in poppy playtime because i was freaking out and it caused me to get stuck multiple times 😭
i think another point is the comprimisation that the player has to do. Through out the chase scene youre running through doors that take multiple seconds to open and close, leaving little time to both baracade the door and think what to do next. put on top of that with the creepy design and deranged yelling your brain completley goes on auto pilot thinking what to do next, leaving no breathing room.
I'm not good at horror games, mostly because my hands are kinda messed up and I can't do quick time events effectively, but Little Nightmares is one of my favorite game series. My favorite chase so far is a tie between the Doctor and the Teacher. The Teacher is a horrifying threat the entire school level, her presence scaring the bullies into submission. When you finally reach the end, you and Six have to crawl through a vent while her head desperately tries to follow you, gnashing her teeth as you desperately crawl and climb to safety. Then when you make it out, her neck extends further as she looks for you for a moment before retreating back into the vent. For me it's the close proximity and the claustrophobia of it all. The Doctor is arguably the most "normal" looking adult in the series and he is like an insect, crawling on the ceiling of his hospital and working on the Patients upside down. When you try to escape, he chases after you and tries to kill you by knocking shelves over and pressing stretchers down to crush you as you crawl away. Eventually you lure him into a furnace where he cremated bodies, wading through ashes and eacaping just to lock him inside. You can burn him and hear his cries of pain and fear, all while Six warms up her hands by the fire. Both are top tier chases, I'd mention the Hunter and the Thin Man, but my fingers hurt from typing this lol Excited for Little Nightmares 3 I know it's gonna be good
Having Traiger be right after this terrifying chase makes the chase scary even after the first playthrough, because after your first playthrough you know what's going to happen, you dread it, but there's no were to go but to go forward and you must do it NOW
One of the most unique and unexpected chases (arguably scariest) gotta be from Noone Lives Under The Lighthouse, it puts you in the monster's perspective and still has you controlling yourself as the player
1:21 Except when the turns are randomized, and you’re essentially screwed if you mess up, as the enemy chasing you will just insta-kill any player who manages to get behind it.
I feel like the feeling you get during this chase scene is the feeling that scare actors are supposed to give you. I can’t watch this chase scene without seeing the people running through the haunt I work at. I wonder if that’s what they feel?
12:15 In these 10 years since I was I first discovered Outlast as a kid…. I did not know that was a mf security guard… holy f.I didn’t even like outlast anymore because I thought I knew everything about the 1st one..
I don't know I think I'd have to put the first Volatile chase scene in Dying Light with this one. Especially because before this you were wrecking the shit out of zombies and then suddenly you realize that your fight response is not going to work against these guys and now even though you have the ability to fight you HAVE to run and there are several of them chasing you no matter where you go Just like in Outlast it has all three elements of being chased, the dark, and also the fear of being killed because early on the volatiles will rip you apart quite literally. It also even adds some fear of the unknown because until this point you haven't even seen a volatile so you don't even know exactly what it is
I've never played Outlast before. Heck, I never even knew anything about it up until I watched this video. But just by watching this chase scene, I can DEFINITELY see how this can be viewed as scary. As said in the video, the chase is sudden and makes you panic. It gets more and more frantic and intense as it goes on. There's little to no room for error (which adds on to the fear). And for my favorite part of the scene, the chase feels excruciatingly long. This chase lasts a whopping two and a half minutes. Don't get me wrong, I've seen longer chase sequences in video games. But for a horror game, that is grueling. And when your head's caught up in just trying to get away from some crackheads, it feels like the chase is gonna last forever. And that's what I like about it. You expect it to end at some point, but it just doesn't. You expect the patients to give up on pursuing you, but they keep going. You expect yourself to be safe once you reach a certain room, but you're merely buying time to get away while the patients break down door after door. That's what makes surviving it so rewarding and relieving. It feels like you just escaped an eternity of fearful madness. To put it in a nutshell, this scene is very good.
me, clicking on this video: it better be outlast the fact that multiple chase scenees in this game cam to mind when you talked about them at the start shows how... good this game is when it comes to chase scenes... though I could say, anything with gluskin, especially aftr breaking your leg, is absolutely terrifying because you're literally limping the entire time
This was my first ever horror game I ever got to play myself, and boy this chase scene was just so impactful on me that I have never forgotten the feeling of sheer fear of it. Also, you’re so right with that part after the jump! My first ever play through of it, I thought I was safe until the music picked back up and way more intense than before. Made my heart pump so much faster 😭
I think a good amount of people are missing another factor that heavily underrated. It's the very fact that unlike most games that have the character leave a clear path of destruction or chaos to escape. The entire section requires you to make your own means of buying time, you don't just parkour over doors or obstacles...You actively block or lock those entrances right after you make them. Even if it does only buy you time for a single second
Being chased/stalked is a HUGE fear for me that translates to games heavily. Literally this fear is why I still haven't finished Alien Isolation to this day after trying it once in 2017 and once in 2023 💀
Sawrunner from cry of fear, in the forest of course, was the most harrowing thing I've ever experienced in a horror game for a long time. However if I have to pick one that beats it. It's definitely deer lord from spookys jumpscare mansion. Especially with his recent update.
The repeated interactions with the Chainsaw Sprinter in Cry of Fear never fails to absolutely demolish me emotionally. Definitely worth a look at least.
he can also get away with being deceptively fast since he's so goddamn tall. his steady confident strides look slow in a vacuum but when you're actually avoiding him all he has to do is pick up the pace the tiniest bit and he's already closing the gap you just made
Spookies jumpscare mansion or as it was originally called, Spookies house of jumpscares. *spoiler alert* after leaving the mini mansion in floor 8, you have to escape the possesed man. I really think this chase is one of the scariest in the game and spookies is such an overlooked game because of the way it looks
I think what makes that chase so great is how you get used to hiding from him first. it creates this sense of "if he sees me it's game over" having to hide repeatedly, only for him to eventually silently get the drop on you in the final section with absolutely no other option but to run away. it sets up this implied idea of him spotting you being the lose condition, then forces you into that condition, this time finally not cornered, with a path to escape
The whole video, was amazing to hear. tbh I thought you were gonna talk about why you love the outlast series when I saw the trailer. But it was.. just about how scare the chase is in outlast, giving a good example of one and how effective it is. I love you narrating the whole thing, it was amazing man. You wanna know what’s the least scary chase? Dead by daylight chases. First time it’s scary until you realize, it’s a person behind a keyboard/controller playing the killer. However, it doesn’t mean you can still get scared despite knowing every killer and how they work, stealth killers and stealth perks can make a killer damn scary to face. Even a fast killer. But overall, dbd chases are not scary One example is.. just alien isolation. Regardless of how fast you run, that isn’t an option when the alien spots you. you first panic when the alien spots and you try to run. Only for the alien to catch you immediately. Killing you right on the spot, so the game forces the player to use stealth, in order to not die x
I find the Seek chase from doors to be somewhat scary. The main reason is that Seek (the monster) is so mysterious. The only thing you know about him is that he wants to get you. Even during his jumpscare, it's never shown what he actually does to you. Another thing that makes it scary is the foreshadowing before the chase begins. Before encountering him, you see eyes pop up around the rooms as you get closer, which can be quite unsettling the first time you play the game
Best chase is a chase where you can't see the monster, only thing you know is that monster is really damn loud and that you should run without looking back
My experience with this chase was a little different at the break point. Once I hit the break point and looked ahead to see the door, it wasn't false hope but dread as I instantly knew the chase was going to start up again and yet I still have to approach the door with this knowledge
Before i clicked the video i already thought of this significant chase in Outlast. I experienced it when i was younger and it made me scream a lot, i was just running without looking back lmao
This chase sequence is literally stolen from Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the earth. Same structure. You notice enemies, you panic, you barricade dors to slow them down, and near the end they all breaking through.
In outlast 2 when you have to push the cart while penned in with Marta can still make me jump now and again, and believe me with insane mode I’ve done it a lot
talking about my favorite chase sequence in Outlast. great job, my guy. :D my question to you is: aside from the male ward chase being the most intense, what's the scariest chase in this game in your opinion? in my opinion, the scariest chase sequence comes from the final boss of the DLC: Eddie Gluskin. he doesn't run or scream like a maniac. no. he *walks* towards you. as if he knows he's gonna catch you.
I agree with you! Eddie Gluskin's chase is arguably way scarier. I believe it's mainly because you can't run anymore at that point of the game due to your injured leg, the previous sprint your character had is now reduced to a staggering limp. Which severely limits you from putting as much distance between you and Eddie in a chase. So even though Eddie is only *walking* towards you, it is still horrifying.
I know a lot of people who always say amnesia is scarier than outlast. For me even though atmosphere and stuff like the fear of the unknown is scary, nothing beats an intense chase scene.
I find the chase sequence for the boss from lost in vivo the scariest. It is sort of a puzzle and chase and it added another layer of stress to me. And you can't kill the boss by normal means, adding another layer of fear to me.
I've played through outlast probably around 50 times at this point, while it doesnt scare me anymore, i know the exact chase you're gonna talk about (only 3 minutes in) and it was up there
Surprised that seemingly no one has mentioned the chase scene in “Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.” The chase scene talked about in this video is very similar to it. EDIT: Seen a couple of mentions now. Weird that it took so much scrolling though.
My personal favorite scripted chase in any game is the Level !!! Chase in Apeirophobia. The sheer panic you feel with the blaring alarm and intense music, combined with the sounds of the titan smiler breakings things behind you is terrifying. Combine that with a very maze like escape where any delay could mean death makes it a perfect chase.
I think this is a great chase for the title of scariest chase, but another one that would work well, maybe even work better, is the chase right after you get off the operating table in Outlast: Whistleblower where you are chased by Eddie Gluskin while you have the limp. It's technically scripted.
When i see this chase i always remember Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth The very first enemy encounter in Innsmouth is probably the grandfather of this chase, they are soooo alike, but Outlast made it better in some ways, definitely Soundtrack is awesome
For me it’s Sam getting chased around a mansion basement while wearing nothing but a tiny towel in Until Dawn. Getting chased while fully clothed is one thing, but getting chased while naked??? No thanks.
Video: He drops down to a room that was previously locked and...this happens- *Infinity Nikki Advertisement plays* Me: ...to be honest, getting transported to a world where you dress up in cute outfits sounds nice, actually. Lol.
And then we have Dying Light, where you need to WANT to be chased if you want a major EXP boost (and also make it so that you can survive such chase) or else it will take you ages to level up
You want a good, terrifying scripted chase? One that easily matches Outlast's? Call of Cthulho Dark Corners of the Earth. Escaping the Innsmouth Hotel. Unlike most scripted chases, this one really doesn't lose its edge much. It's tense and thrilling no matter how many times you play through it.
being chased was like the worst fear I had, in irl and games. If I saw you gaining on me while I ran, I may just piss my self and pray the pee makes you slip
Roblox Doors has a scripted chase that happens from doors 25-35 to 38-45 (first chase) 65-70 to 80-85 (second chase) and thats just the hotel (im not gonna explain the mines chase) in Roblox Dandy's World has unscripted chases where you have to loop around an object, but when you get chased by a main character twisted (mainly pebble) its scarier because for pebble barks 2 times and you just hear and see a giant dog creature, barks and growling.
Are we afraid of things that look human Are we afraid of things that look human What are not human Where in the evolutionary standpoint did we get that
No matter how many times I've played Outlast, all the chases - scripted or not - always freaked me out the most and still do. I don't know if this counts or not, but I remember when I would play Slender The Arrival, running from Kate in the quarry was a serious adrenaline rush. But ever since playing Outlast, I've yet to meet anything scarier 😅 Also another chase that's awesome is the unscripted chases that happen in Aka Manto
the chase would be scary if the enemies could catch up to you and weren't blocked by a single shut door. you don't even have to block the door because the enemies can't break down a closed door. your even faster then chris.
It wasnt scary at all but the Seek chase on Roblox on a game called Doors the first time i played it was pretty cool. The music is a banger the enemy has loud ass footsteps that sounds right behind you and you run for your dear life. Even tho the actual enemy is actually pretty far away the first time i played it was pretty surprising and pretty good for a Roblox game
I know it’s kinda silly, and Mob Entertainment kinda wore it out, but the chases from Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 & 2 fuck me up. The cornered feeling they can pull out of you makes it hard for me to watch those sections of a play through. Not to mention, the buildup and tension, some of which the player may not even notice, just helps with that final outcome. The trial and error nature of them to create that cornered feeling definitely causes harm to how well the chase is executed, but they know how to build tension.

OH HOLY SHIT I WAS GONNA COMMENT ABOUT IN SOUND MIND TOO!! Its quickly become one of my favorite games of ALL Time and I wish more people knew about it!
3:09 can we please talk about how fire this transition is?
Personally, I think a part of this whole chase that REALLY adds to the true fear factor is the reaction of the MC! There are so few games that truly represent how fear affects someone. People don’t simply run and then stop. They run, they scream, they gasp for the air they lost while escaping. The breathing sounds he makes amplify the fear because you KNOW he’s scared! Very good job on the VA for that!
i smiled SO wide when you chose outlast. i’ve been playing and replaying the series for a while, plus i’m a MAJOR nolifer of outlast trials. the sheer tension and panic that red barrels can produce, both scripted AND not scripted, is unmatched in the horror genre imo. honestly, i think amnesia: the bunker is the only other game that has made me feel that way with its chases, both scripted and non-scripted
edit: AGGHH FUCK YES I KNEW YOU’D MENTION THE WARD CHASE!! HOLY FUCK LITERALLY MY FAV SCRIPTED SEQUENCE IN HORROR MEDIA
I agree with the Outlast one, but I also have another proposal.
The baby's chase from RE: Village on House Beneviento, that sudden change of gameplay loop and atmosphere was smth I would never have expected at a blind playthrough
I also have the chainsaw runner from Cry of Fear (altho most of the moments there are a chase, as when the game wants to scare you, it does, it really does)
PuppetCombos Nun game was HORRIFYING. The almost nauseating visual effects and loud bell chimes as this spectre of a dead nun chases you through a grimy church's interior was always the worst chase I've seen.
also don't forget that the most haunting part is that the Nun's scream is a REAL recorded death scream on a 911 call, making it so haunting..
@@DuskBladeHeart1oothe infamous 911 call scream was *not* a death scream, the person was not killed and likely was not physically harmed at all.
Which is good, because to use an actual person’s dying scream for a horror game would be incredibly tasteless
Good God when the bell chimes kicked in, I remember screaming and literally panic button mash 😂😅
Waser never fails to entertain me with his narrations. Keep it up once again my friend!
Through out the chase scene youre running through doors that take multiple seconds to open and close, leaving little time to both baracade the door and think what to do next. put on top of that with the creepy design and deranged yelling your brain completley goes on auto pilot thinking what to do next, leaving no breathing room.
somehow i already knew what chase you were going to talk about before i even clicked what on earth
I thought it was the Eddie gluskin final encounter tbh
i’ve always had a fear of being chased (to the point friends/ family will chase me to freak me out)so this was almost traumatizing
Both are top tier chases, I'd mention the Hunter and the Thin Man, but my fingers hurt from typing this lol
Excited for Little Nightmares 3 I know it's gonna be good
Keep it up brother! I’ve been a fan of you for 4 years!
Pushing the cart in outlast 2 was the most stressed I have ever felt in a video game chase
Imagine outlast in vr
Having Traiger be right after this terrifying chase makes the chase scary even after the first playthrough, because after your first playthrough you know what's going to happen, you dread it, but there's no were to go but to go forward and you must do it NOW
One of the most unique and unexpected chases (arguably scariest) gotta be from Noone Lives Under The Lighthouse, it puts you in the monster's perspective and still has you controlling yourself as the player
That sounds interesting, I’ll check that one out thanks
1:21 Except when the turns are randomized, and you’re essentially screwed if you mess up, as the enemy chasing you will just insta-kill any player who manages to get behind it.
Much like seek from roblox doors

I feel like the feeling you get during this chase scene is the feeling that scare actors are supposed to give you. I can’t watch this chase scene without seeing the people running through the haunt I work at. I wonder if that’s what they feel?
12:15 In these 10 years since I was I first discovered Outlast as a kid…. I did not know that was a mf security guard… holy f.I didn’t even like outlast anymore because I thought I knew everything about the 1st one..
The goat finally dropped another banger, love it man.
I don't know I think I'd have to put the first Volatile chase scene in Dying Light with this one. Especially because before this you were wrecking the shit out of zombies and then suddenly you realize that your fight response is not going to work against these guys and now even though you have the ability to fight you HAVE to run and there are several of them chasing you no matter where you go
Just like in Outlast it has all three elements of being chased, the dark, and also the fear of being killed because early on the volatiles will rip you apart quite literally. It also even adds some fear of the unknown because until this point you haven't even seen a volatile so you don't even know exactly what it is
ur vids are always Ws.
To put it in a nutshell, this scene is very good.
me, clicking on this video: it better be outlast
the fact that multiple chase scenees in this game cam to mind when you talked about them at the start shows how... good this game is when it comes to chase scenes...
though I could say, anything with gluskin, especially aftr breaking your leg, is absolutely terrifying because you're literally limping the entire time
This was my first ever horror game I ever got to play myself, and boy this chase scene was just so impactful on me that I have never forgotten the feeling of sheer fear of it. Also, you’re so right with that part after the jump! My first ever play through of it, I thought I was safe until the music picked back up and way more intense than before. Made my heart pump so much faster 😭
getting chased by the homeowner in a very organized thief is petrifying
I think a good amount of people are missing another factor that heavily underrated. It's the very fact that unlike most games that have the character leave a clear path of destruction or chaos to escape. The entire section requires you to make your own means of buying time, you don't just parkour over doors or obstacles...You actively block or lock those entrances right after you make them. Even if it does only buy you time for a single second
Being chased/stalked is a HUGE fear for me that translates to games heavily. Literally this fear is why I still haven't finished Alien Isolation to this day after trying it once in 2017 and once in 2023 💀
Bro this video put me in fear for my life and I have never played this game in my life
Sawrunner from cry of fear, in the forest of course, was the most harrowing thing I've ever experienced in a horror game for a long time.
I gotta sy it.
Danganronpa ahhh poses.
I love it
Idc, Mr X is terrifying almost every play through
It's the fact that he's just so slow and patient, like he doesn't even care if you run from him he just starts following.
@ fr
he can also get away with being deceptively fast since he's so goddamn tall. his steady confident strides look slow in a vacuum but when you're actually avoiding him all he has to do is pick up the pace the tiniest bit and he's already closing the gap you just made
@@uncroppedsoop Yeah, when he locks tf in, you’re cooked.
Bro he's so slow, he ain't scary at all
@ i know but the way he screams at you and it being in a tight, dark spot always triggers my fight or flight response
Puppet Combo’s Power Drill and Nun Massacre is the epitome of an anxiety attack in a video game. Cry of Fear’s chainsaw man is also up there as well
The whole video, was amazing to hear. tbh I thought you were gonna talk about why you love the outlast series when I saw the trailer.
But overall, dbd chases are not scary
One example is.. just alien isolation.
Before encountering him, you see eyes pop up around the rooms as you get closer, which can be quite unsettling the first time you play the game
outlast is known to be one of the scariest game but it sure is a neat video
That entire chase gave me a heart attack 😭😭😭
Best chase is a chase where you can't see the monster, only thing you know is that monster is really damn loud and that you should run without looking back
My experience with this chase was a little different at the break point.
Once I hit the break point and looked ahead to see the door, it wasn't false hope but dread as I instantly knew the chase was going to start up again and yet I still have to approach the door with this knowledge
the way i predicted this would be outlast lmao!!! i have tears of anxiety during the chase scenes
Before i clicked the video i already thought of this significant chase in Outlast. I experienced it when i was younger and it made me scream a lot, i was just running without looking back lmao
I think being chased by the Xenomorph in Alien Isolation is terrifying.
This chase sequence is literally stolen from Call of Cthulhu: Dark corners of the earth. Same structure. You notice enemies, you panic, you barricade dors to slow them down, and near the end they all breaking through.
The most intense chase is the chase in your dreams where you run but can’t move.
OUTLAST-
Blue flower guy did it again
My favorite UA-camRRR
I think dying light gives AMAZING non scripted chases especially with setting the ambience and obviously scary zombie at night 😨
Early game yeah, late game you kinda kill volatiles easily and dgaf
Fun fact: your name is extremely close the the words 'water please' in german, the actual phrase for 'water please' is 'wasser bitte'
I know a lot of people who always say amnesia is scarier than outlast. For me even though atmosphere and stuff like the fear of the unknown is scary, nothing beats an intense chase scene.
Consider maybe checking out the chase sequences of Eddie Gluskin from the Whistleblower DLC.
Bro this guy explains stuff so good I’m gonna play it
I find the chase sequence for the boss from lost in vivo the scariest.
When i see this chase i always remember Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth
The very first enemy encounter in Innsmouth is probably the grandfather of this chase, they are soooo alike, but Outlast made it better in some ways, definitely
Soundtrack is awesome
For me it’s Sam getting chased around a mansion basement while wearing nothing but a tiny towel in Until Dawn. Getting chased while fully clothed is one thing, but getting chased while naked??? No thanks.
Video: He drops down to a room that was previously locked and...this happens-
*Infinity Nikki Advertisement plays*
Me: ...to be honest, getting transported to a world where you dress up in cute outfits sounds nice, actually. Lol.
combine it with outlast then, ofc. the variants are now all dressed up
YAY a new video !
If you think that's the scariest, you ain't never been chased by your mother with a slipper, the most lethal throwable weapon known to man
I'm happy and sad that I'm your first and only paid member :(
6:54 just destroy the danm door
And then we have Dying Light, where you need to WANT to be chased if you want a major EXP boost (and also make it so that you can survive such chase) or else it will take you ages to level up
You want a good, terrifying scripted chase? One that easily matches Outlast's?
Call of Cthulho Dark Corners of the Earth. Escaping the Innsmouth Hotel. Unlike most scripted chases, this one really doesn't lose its edge much. It's tense and thrilling no matter how many times you play through it.
Thanks for the rec, I’ll take a look. A chase scene in a hotel already sounds great
being chased was like the worst fear I had, in irl and games. If I saw you gaining on me while I ran, I may just piss my self and pray the pee makes you slip
Whatever that big thing with the chainsaw hand is in The Evil Within 2
That chronic giggler is called the guardian.
WANTS MEAT WANTS MEAT
PLEASE do more on outlast it’s such a good game
Do a Video on Dead Dreams please
Are we afraid of things that look human Are we afraid of things that look human What are not human Where in the evolutionary standpoint did we get that
No matter how many times I've played Outlast, all the chases - scripted or not - always freaked me out the most and still do. I don't know if this counts or not, but I remember when I would play Slender The Arrival, running from Kate in the quarry was a serious adrenaline rush. But ever since playing Outlast, I've yet to meet anything scarier 😅
Also another chase that's awesome is the unscripted chases that happen in Aka Manto
16:53 PLEASE RELEASE THE FULL VERSION!!
What is the game that is shown between 1:36-1:41?
SOMA. It was worked on by the same team that created Amnesia: The Dark Descent!
the chase would be scary if the enemies could catch up to you and weren't blocked by a single shut door. you don't even have to block the door because the enemies can't break down a closed door. your even faster then chris.
The most intense chase is actually Rusty the walrus from Crash Twinsanity
Howd i know what this was gonna be about before i even clicked on the video
I know it’s kinda silly, and Mob Entertainment kinda wore it out, but the chases from Poppy Playtime Chapter 1 & 2 fuck me up. The cornered feeling they can pull out of you makes it hard for me to watch those sections of a play through. Not to mention, the buildup and tension, some of which the player may not even notice, just helps with that final outcome. The trial and error nature of them to create that cornered feeling definitely causes harm to how well the chase is executed, but they know how to build tension.
