Ethical Dilemma / Steps for Social Workers

- When social worker's face an ethical decision we rush for NASW Code of Ethics. In 2008 the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) developed a training curriculum that describes decision making through 14 sequential steps. In this video I share each step and even answer the age old question- should you "friend" a client on social media? Hope this video helps in any and all ethical dilemmas in social work.

Great video, do you have video that you give an example where you go thru all steps? I understand the video but example would help me more. How do you know when it is an ethical issue?
A good topic for social workers and for those who are learning how to be a counselor and a mentor to those who may be in need and just to be there to help and assist others.

I’m studying to become a social worker in college though.
When I was a client of Tikinagin and was active in my addiction I had a worker who didn’t get me or her to sign the proper paper and my daughter was taken, she than back dated it by herself.
When I got my daughter back I made reports of the care my daughter was in and she actually called me malicious! I see where she came from but that’s the worst social worker I’ve ever had she made me want to go into social work myself and make a change
Could you make an in depth video on MSW vs LMSW vs LCSW and what are the steps to becoming them? As far as education, internships, supervised work, etc etc. It’s a bit confusing lol. Thanks :)

I had a scenario in class that asked what should a social worker do if he accidently sees another colleague drinking with his clients.. when the first Sw confronted his colleague he said he drinks w them in order to connect and gain their trust. What should first Sw do ? How to respond

Being realistic , what's the starting income as a social worker with a BSW? And also with a MSW? Thank you
It really depends on the state, and in Texas what part of the state. Then it depends on the field you go into...School Social work depends upon the district...typically higher risk or impoverished districts pay more bc they recognize and value SW - I started with teacher equivalent salary, which is awesome. Not many districts pay SW at the level they pay teachers.
