I'm a big proponent of just asking people what they want to get. At this point I think we should be, as a society, past the "It's the thought that counts" mentality. It just fuels consumerism when we know most companies are inethical, and when a lot of people have too much stuff lying around anyway. So if I'm buying them more stuff, I want to know it's exactly what they want. Of course, they can always say they want a surprise, then I will accept this :) But I think we should normalize asking people about their preferences and making wishlists for our own gifts. Like if I have a specific eyeshadow in mind, I really don't want to get a different one that doesn't tick all my boxes. Especially because most people in my life are not interested in beauty and wouldn't know the difference. Similarly, I feel safer asking my brother about what fountain pen he wants or my boyfriend about which outdoorsy jacket he likes before I make the purchase. I'm personally not into fountain pens so I would have no idea what to look for in terms of quality.
I bought my Mason Pearson brush about 10 years ago. I adore it! I now clean it as the makers recommend. This brought it almost back to new. Cost per use might be down to about a penny. One of my prized possessions.
I love love sweaters too & have forever. I have a huge collection of beautiful wool sweaters & it makes me so happy! As for the brush, I would love to be able to buy one. I have hair past my butt that's very coarse & prone to tangling/dreading/knotting. I did find a brush that actually is the most amazing brush I've ever found & if they stop making it, I will riot. I used to think the wet brushes were it til i found these brushes. They're actually nylon bristles shaped exactly like the mason pearson & wrapped in boar bristles, just like the mason pearson. The biggest differences are the shape & no squishy base. Instead it's a paddle brush with large vents & the brush itself is a very cheap plastic but when I tell you the brush is incredible & the best brush I've ever used? I'm also tender headed (so is my 7 yr old) & it's the only brush that doesn't hurt!! It slips through knots with ease & you don't have to pull or rip the hair. If anyone wants the name lmk!
I'm sorry girl, but pura is JUNK. I've had 2 wall diffusers plus the car one and NO 😂Mind of their own and couldnt smell them on high. I went through sooo many fragrances too. Nobody could ever smell them either. I even moved them all around my house. Their customer service doesn't even acknowledge bad reviews.
Yes you can’t smell anything and it’s gone in 2 weeks. Another con, the price of the scents!!! Great idea but was a bust for me and mine was in the guest half bath. Still no smell!!!!!
Great video Amanda! Oh I am the same way with buying multiples of what I love......7 COS cotton sweaters in different colors; Doc Marten Rometty boots with backups (not like they'll ever wear out, haha). I have Everlane Utilty pants (both wide leg and straight leg) in several colors.....now I want to get the barrel utility pants after seeing yours!
it’s wild how no one talks about Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki even though it completely shifts how you see things, but I guess not everyone is ready
Hey Amanda! Can you pretty please rank the haruharu milk, ilia, and rhode? i only want to buy 1. i want maximum impact for plumping texture and pores! cheaper is better but impact is what matters most to me
Can someone tell me when "gift" became a verb? We used to give gifts. Now we gift gifts? Given, you mustn't look the gift horse in the mouth. Or else that person won't come gift-en again.

Love this! I completely agree 👍 The only caveat being honemade gifts and cards! Then it is the thought that counts
Loving sweaters can never be defined as a problem in my book!

You're not alone Amanda! Literally just bought 3 colors of the wide leg Everlane utility pants lol
What is on your eyes today?! It looks stunning with your sweater!!
Silk is a great material for cold weather base layers too.
what silk pieces do you wear in the winter?? like long johns?

that diffuser is genius
Multiple colors of favorites is definitely something I do too!😊 Great topic and what thoughtful gift ideas you shared. Thank you!💜🎉
Love this! And would sooo love to see a little vlogging from time to time.

Oh no, I'm sorry! I've only had an amazing experience and my scents on low fill my entire basement :( I appreciate your experience and letting us know

Am I the only person who thinks of that scene in the emperors new groove when someone mentions something made of alpacca? 😂 Love your videos Amanda!!
omg hahah
Most underrated movie ever 😂🤣
@ Right! 😂
AMANDA TIME....YAY🎉
can’t believe this is what people focus on instead of reading something like Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, maybe that’s why so little ever changes
it’s wild how no one talks about Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki even though it completely shifts how you see things, but I guess not everyone is ready
Great suggestions
I get itchy from wool. Do you get itchy from the OZMA sweaters?
No the Sloan is so soft! No itchiness I don’t even wear long sleeves with it
most people stay stuck because they avoid books like Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, which actually show you how to break through
if this resonates with you, you owe it to yourself to read Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki, but maybe it’s not for everyone
What’s the name of the hydrating milk
haruharu wonder barrier :)
Hey Amanda! Can you pretty please rank the haruharu milk, ilia, and rhode? i only want to buy 1. i want maximum impact for plumping texture and pores! cheaper is better but impact is what matters most to me
I’m definitely buying multiples of what I love. But then, I dress in kind of a uniform.
not saying this isn’t interesting, but books like Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki make this look like child’s play
