This game got me through a TOUGH time in my life. I won't spill the tea, but for a time, due to a nasty divorce between my parents and being away from my possessions for awhile, a PSone with portable screen and GBA2 were the only video game I had. It'll always have a place in my heart.

I feel for you. Divorce is never any fun. So very glad that you have a release and an outlet. Most parental decisions are made without taking the children into consideration at all and most parents horrifically use the kids as pawns/or turn them against the other parent. All the best. Take care.

Brings back memories! Twas the late 2000's and we were living the poor life at the time. No internet, no anything... but my uncle gave me a PS1 as a birthday present. I remember playing this in the living room and just grinding for unlockables endlessly even though it means doing it all over again because my PS1 didn't have a memory card at the time.
And oh boy, I'd often invite my cousins who live next block and 1v1 them in Vs. Mode. I still remember spamming Wing's HP neutral attack and they don't know how to block at all xD
This game is awesome. Funny thing is, my uncle bought this disc in a local game store and the disc was incorrectly titled 'Transformers' with a marker LMAO

@@traidahhsien7378 I wouldn't say the Nu Gundam was super strong, but its Fin Funnels were indestructible unlike most other funnel-type weapons in the game, so they could actually block projectiles for you. I guess they thought it was strong enough as is because of that.

The sounds are just so heavy and intense, it makes it feel like there's 2 giant machines fighting. So cool

Do the Burning Finger, the Burning Finger must hit successfully on enemy then do the Heat End move.
Only selected mobile suits will work this combo, but if you want to do to all mobile suits, first make sure stun them from behind and do Heat End Combo it guarantee works.

The utterly lackluster delivery of Sekiha Tenkyoken by Mark Gatha and Dave Pettit here because (according to an interview I read way back) their lines here were recorded before they even began dubbing the show so they had no idea how hot-blooded their delivery of that was actually supposed to be will always be amusing to me.

What I remember the most about this game? The BGM.
The hardest part of remembering these character names is keeping track of which ones put Gundam before their name, and which ones put it after. I've never understood why this series makes that so inconsistent.
They kinda used them interchangeably. Like Sandrock Gundam is also called Gundam Sandrock in other media while Burning/God Gundam remains as it is in the Mobile Fighter G Gundam series. Then we have Maxter.
Back in those days when I played this game and still have a copy as well. My older brother's but it was something.
Even got 100 Wins with the Dark Gundam in survival mode, had my quickest times in Time Attack Mode B with GP-02 As it is literally a mobile armor killer with its nuclear cannon

I've been thinking about how much a gundam game could really fit into the Battlefront II model of game, the only problem being their isn't a corresponding faction for the base grunts (Zaku/Leo) to face off against

If I recall in GBA2 I loved playing Sandrock because of the crazy special move combos. Char's Zaku was fun because of the speed.
Fun fighter games with a unique, more methodical style of play then a lot of the more twitchy ones that are more mainstream.

I remember one time I some how performed a 50 Hit Combo with Wing Zero in front of a group of friends. To this day, I still considered it to be a fluke.
Great nostalgia. I remember setting a challenge for myself and trying to beat everyone on max difficulty with every character. The hardest one to beat was Pyscho Gundam and the 2 hardest to do it with (in other words, the worst characters) were Ball and Gundam Rose.
The most OP characters were Dark Gundam (retardedly broken with its unblockable lazers), Heavyarms Custom, Full Armor Double Zeta Gundam and Gundam Physalis
