So many Morgans were never put into circulation and hence are readily available today in MS condition. Whereas Victoria crowns were used and are hard to get uncirculated. I was lucky to get an 1887 Jubilee crown in MS as they no doubt were set aside as keepsakes. Your 1893 is a beauty.
A lovely video to watch, not only do I love the crown its self but the George and the dragon is one or if not my favourite design's on a coins reverse! I never thought to compare the festival of Britain crowns reverse to see the main wear points of an earlier/925 one so great idea! You just got a new subscriber, Thank you.
Thanks for stopping by and taking time to comment. I picked up another 1887 last week which will probably be going out as a Christmas gift before i have chance to include it in a video.
@@CyberCurtainTwitcher Hi, it was a complete pleasure to comment, I really appreciate the time you took to make the video which I really did enjoy, i look forward to the next. The 1887 crown would be a brilliant gift to give to someone and a very kind thing to do too! I would be lying if I said I would not like to have it, I would absolutely love it! I will continue to watch your videos but regardless of the coin though. Thank you so much for replying and letting me know and I shall see you in another video, sincerely Daniel
@@CyberCurtainTwitcher I shall do as soon as possible, I can't remember my password so I will sort that out and have a look! Thanks again, best wishes and take care, Daniel.
Thanks for the Lesson C.C.T. Enjoy the info....In the past year have gotten more British coins...then I did in the last 30 yrs...Thanks to You and my other across the pond friends on you tube...see you can teach an old dog new tricks! 😊🐶
Very nice of you, and you have some very nice examples there. I need to get more of the Vicky crowns. I only have a one (jubilee head) and it was a gift from Silver Balls.
They're actually called Crowns, but yes they do feature the same design as the Sovereigns. When I gave you this link I actually watched the video and I must say I'm shocked at much they have gone since that video. Those £15 grade Crowns are now £28 and that one I paid £35 for would probably cost me £80 today.
Oh so you start with the Crown I don't have, lol! Great pieces CCT!! Let's see that watch a bit closer? Hmmmm goldhoarder13? Ahhh the copper nickel is neato! You just taught me everything I know of Crowns, just then! Preesh
FANCY jumping past George IV!. I think his Crowns of 1821-25 carry one of the most majestic regal portraits Benedetto pistrucci ever produced. George himself however...HATED it!.
A word of caution, there are a lot of fake Victoria Jubilee head crowns around 1887 to 1892, made in China. Most are worn, but some not, so be careful. Enjoyed your program.
beautiful I have two 1893 and the Art Deco version st. George and the Dragon those are my absolute favorite design I can't have enough of them. I want to buy a gold sovereign with st. George and the Dragon I love new beautiful coin if you want to trade let me know ...... talk to you soon CCT.
George IIII crowns has an edge inscription. The later crowns had a reeded edge. The cupro nickel 1951 crown has an edge inscription. I hope that answers your question.
Hey CCT, where do I purchase (Stateside) one of your coin tester slides? I prefer your build quality to the knock-offs that have come out since, but have not found an ebay link or anything else for your handmade one.
+Briansammo Mr V has some on the way, I have asked him to sell them on a first come first served basis, so jump on his list as i think their are a few on it already.
+CyberCurtainTwitcher I'm new to your channel, so forgive me that I have no idea who Mr. V is or how to get in touch with him. You can e-mail me by adding @aol.com to my username. Thanks.
+CyberCurtainTwitcher I saw your slide on Silver Slackers channel, Googled you and ended up here. I will contact Mr. V, but I also subscribed to you, once I got the jist of the service/education you provide. It's a shame there are so many fakes out there, it's even worse that so many of them are getting to be really good fakes. Are most of the fakes you're seeing Chinese made? Seems like they counterfeit damn near anything of value and as prices rise again (and they will), they are sure to kick into high gear cranking out even more.
Briansammo Yeah, most of them seem to be from China, but very few have been that good to be honest, it's just buyers not really paying attention to what they are buying. Frequently the fakes have such a shit finish or do not have the face value on them, they are easily identifiable, but buyers just see the price! I just received a very interesting fake in the mail today which doesn't sound very profitable for the fakers. More about that in an upcoming video.
I would dip the better grade crown, it has ugly toning It would look better bright all over, the other with the darker toning I would leave as it is [just my opinion]
Solid information on .925 Crowns. Thank You CCT.

Speak soon Billy. Don't forget i have a couple things here for you when you are ready.
Could you confirm the amount of silver in the Victorian crown
The weight is 28.28 grams. which i think equates to 26.15 grams of silver.
Obviously a little less if it has wear.
Why does the coins have no edge description 🤔
George IIII crowns has an edge inscription. The later crowns had a reeded edge. The cupro nickel 1951 crown has an edge inscription. I hope that answers your question.
What does 15 pounds mean in us dollars?
About $21
