Hey Kevin, great vid! We have approx. 4K mi.’s on our OHV lift and continue to be impressed. We added 245 tires after the first 2500 mi.’s and enjoy the additional 1/2” or so of ground clearance.
Hey Kevin, I’ve copied this from our post on TOAW group face book, so it may look familiar 😎. We had to modify both the front mud flaps & the drivers side rear plastic wheel fascia. On the front mud flaps, we had to remove most of the metal bracket, on the tire side because it was rubbing when turning. Not to difficult, removed flaps, cut off bar with a wheel, painted, & reinstalled. Less than 2 hrs. The drivers side fascia was moved forward with some “persuasion.” 😬 I did not want to cut any metal from the body. A number of the group members, with the OHV lift kit, have removed the mud flaps, I chose to try and save them. Mine worked out great. I’ve got approx 1500 mi., quite a bit of rough dirt roads, without issues.
Kenneth, I’m down a mile or two but not sure if it is the tires/lifts or wind and road conditions. I’ve been averaging around 15 mph after lift & larger tires. One of the reasons we went with 245 Michelin Cross Climate Agilis tires is that the are supposed to weigh the same as the Nexten 225 stock tires.
If anyone gives you any hate about what you spend on something you are LIVING in ... just ignore them. If you are happy with it then it is fine. Love the videos. ~ Lansing, Michigan.
We're in the middle of relocating to Arizona so I'll have to wait on the lift, but the lift is on the radar and definitely on the short list. SLC! I love it there - the lift is amazing, my next van will be lifted, fer sure! Peace from beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada - still 32C here, though not as humid so a bit more bearable.
I have lifted my vehicles in the past and its definitely just something that you do because you want to. The rear of your vehicle will probably have no ill effects from this lift whatsoever. Since it is a FWD vehicle I am sure you have cv shafts that connect the transmission to the wheels. The lift in most cases will slightly alter the angles that these joints operate at and will also change the angles of your front suspension components slightly. It was the right choice for you I am sure. Just be prepared to pay attention to your front end components as they may wear differently. CV joints, wheel bearings, bushings, and steering components are usually the most effected.
Angela Watkins If you don’t mind, can you tell me approximately how old the CV joint was at that point? If it was original equipment, what model year is your vehicle?
@@dustyfeller sure, I was driving someone else's car through WY and it was a 2014 Buick with 30,000 miles! There was road construction but I was unaware of hitting anything that caused it.

Nice!!! So excited! I use to live in DC by the way! :) The lift is 1845 but if you look at the writing in the picture below the cost - you'll see that with labor it's 2800. They actually have to remove the dash board to do the lift - so it's pretty labor intensive. Im going to get the same tires that come with our NPE but one size bigger. But im going to wait for these to wear out. So excited for you Carroll, I hope you enjoy your NPE as much as I do!!!!

Considering how much damage can be done in certain off road situations I don’t see where $2800 is all that bad. You could probably, at some point in time, shell out that much in repair bills. Anyone with eyes can figure that out! It will pay for itself eventually.

It pays for itself if you do not badly damage your truck on bumpy roads. I am glad you are truthful about what you do. RV work can be very expensive and that is the reality and why people should have a repair fund before they hit the road. I learned that from RTR Bob ! Good video !
Agreed completely and why Im honest. Heck the biggest reason I got this lift was because I did about $500 in damage to the bottom of the rig already! Thanks for watching and commenting, Catherine.
I do not think the price tag is outrageous for what you are able to do. Of course it is not a rock crawler, not supposed to be and you never said so. But it can now get you down a few more forest roads and that is the point--well worth it. Peace of mind and practical impact. Go to it!
It's a done deal, so I'm happy that your happy. I'm sure you really love your Travato. Two words - Truck Camper. Took mine to Prudhoe Bay and the Arctic Ocean. 500 miles north of Fairbanks. No lift required.
While you have moved on from the Promaster I remembered this video and your impressions convinced me this is the lift I want to use for mine. This and the skid plate. I remain unconvinced I need four wheel drive for my off road trips.
Thank you so much for your video and others like it. I took your advice and decided to get a Lift, SumoSprings, wheel alignment and a Skid plate on my 2022 Winnebago Solis. After checking around, Off Highway Vans in Salt Lake City, UT; had the best price and quickest appointment. Yes, it still took a day plus to do (so a night in a hotel room). It is certainly worth it! I'm thrilled with the results! It's so nice to have the extra clearance so I don't have to worry about my undercarriage and I can camp at my favorite spots! Thank you again for your post. New Subscriber and new this week Travalto owner! Came across you and Go Small. Live Large and am following both of you since seeing a collaboration video. Really like the lift. Might have to invest in that yet too. I'm hitting the road this summer and using my Travalto to go help cleaners in my industry and post on my Channel. Appreciate your video. I'm not new to RV camping and travel, but your videos are helping me get a crash course on the Travalto! And I think the lift is a good deal by the way 😁
Took our new Thor Tellaro on a forest road for the first time this weekend. 99% of the 21 mile road was not a problem except for one shallow creek crossing that we crossed very slow. The support bracket supporting our black water tank just nicked road on the way into the dip and was knocked loose . I managed to wire the bracket back in place and continue on, but as soon as I got home, started looking into lift kits. This looks like the right kit for our new rig. Thanks!
It looks good...as long as you like it...who cares what others think...I spent $5000 on my lift and 5 new wheels and off road tires....and I love my promaster....God Bless....
I don't understand the "haters" criticisms of price for the Travato or the lift. If you have thought it through and are committed to the nomad van life, the money saved on rent makes the decisions very practical. Going less expensive if you need or want to is also a reasonable decision. The cost/benefit/resources/life path decision algorithm will simply vary individually.
I have finally decided on purchasing a Travato and was bery interested in watching your lift kit video. Maybe now I will get it at beginning of purchase! Thanks!!!
So exciting Marsha. Im not sure dealerships will do lifts on a Travato - it messes up the Ram warranty unfortunately. Thanks for watching and commenting!
What stands out for me, is the professional and attention to details involved in the lift job, feeling good about a job well done is worth the $2,800, it raises the value of the vehicle, not lessen it. You made the right decision and went to the right place.

I’ve got approx 1500 mi., quite a bit of rough dirt roads, without issues.
@@Vodospecialist how does your miliage compare with the larger dia. tires?
Kenneth, I’m down a mile or two but not sure if it is the tires/lifts or wind and road conditions. I’ve been averaging around 15 mph after lift & larger tires. One of the reasons we went with 245 Michelin Cross Climate Agilis tires is that the are supposed to weigh the same as the Nexten 225 stock tires.
Gary Shiroda nice, I have the kL np and have been contemplating the lift, may have to pull the trigger! :)
If anyone gives you any hate about what you spend on something you are LIVING in ... just ignore them. If you are happy with it then it is fine. Love the videos.
~ Lansing, Michigan.
Agreed! Good point! :)
We're in the middle of relocating to Arizona so I'll have to wait on the lift, but the lift is on the radar and definitely on the short list. The OHV lift seems like a clear winner and very much worth the money! We have the same NPE and look forward to exploring the southwest and pacific northwest. Hope to see you on the road sometime. Thanks for the great content!
Im exploring the West and PNW now...so amazing! Good luck on your move - I'll be down near Lake Powell in a couple weeks for a family get together. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@30AndAWakeUp The PNW is so beautiful! We can't wait to explore it all at our pace now and not on a rushed vacation schedule. lol Safe Travels!
@@dean_ov_az Yeah...Im excited as well. Safe travels to you as well.
I was like 3 inches ain’t much until i saw the after pictures. That lifted it a lot. Wow. So much more clearance. Your gone have so much more fun with a lot less damage. 😉Im from the smokey mountains and we love the off road adventures. I live in Knoxville now but i still go any chance i get. Have a blast!!!!
Yeah..it really is higher than you would think Thanks for watching and commenting, Ramona!
30 And A Wake Up your welcome. You make great videos.
@@rrhopewell Aww ty! :)
😊😊😊😊
Great Video and Definitely a good upgrade to the Travato!
Yeah, Im digging it for sure Ed.
Love it from over in the UK you guys have so much better stuff than we do over here
yeah, lots of innovation going on now but the idea of these small van RVs comes from you guys!
SLC! I love it there - the lift is amazing, my next van will be lifted, fer sure! Peace from beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia, Canada - still 32C here, though not as humid so a bit more bearable.
Thanks Steb!
Wow! New and improved van!! Have fun!!
Yeah..she's looking pretty good! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Good to know...thanks for the insight. And thanks for watching.
Enjoy Life - Ditto. Thanks for your insights
CV joint going bad feels like a flat tire & loud vibrations. Just experienced this!
My wife and I are new to Ram Promasters. We picked up a 2021 Solis 59px Nov 2023. So we are just getting started in 2024.
Congrats on the Solis! I love those!
Nice!!! Looks like to me the $3k was well spent!!! Austin, Texas... Y'all!!!
Thanks Rich, I think so!
You made your van very beautiful.
Thank you! I really like it.
Has Van's consumption increased?
I haven't noticed it yet...but I'll do a follow up in the future if it does.
I can’t wait to get my NPA lifted. Safe travels. We damaged our battery box in Sturges this year.
It's been great so far.
Make sure you remember your new ride height when you go under short bridges
Good call...Im still shorter than most of the Sprinter vans out there.
Man it’s your money. If your happy with it and it works. That’s all that matters. Saying hi from Highland Park Illinois 👍🏻😊
Agreed! Thanks or watching & commenting, Scott.
When I was a young man we used to get our cars LOWERED, not lifted. It was really groovy to cruise around with a low car.
haha...I had a lowered truck! I remember! Man we are old...did you have the ground effects as well? Ha! Thanks for watching and commenting.
I had a lowered sedan and truck yes when I was young as my age grow I like my vehicle higher so I don’t have to worry about speed bump and things.
It looks great! I'm working toward lift and suspension for my Promaster 3500 as well. Thanks for sharing your beautiful views!
No problem 👍 Im loving it so far. Definitely got me to some places I wouldn't have even tried before.
Currently watch from Dulles International Airport. I’m on my way to pick up my 2020.5 Travato 59KL NPE (The Beast) this morning!!! Love your videos for things you do to your van and the awesome places you go. Look forward to headed out west in the Spring. Safe travels. What tires are you going to get?
Nice!!!
30 And A Wake Up. I think I need to get mine lifted as well. Just barely missed scrapping items just backing it into a parking spot where I live. How would I search to find someone local that could do that work?
@@CJ20148 Hmmmm you'd need a suspension shop.
30 And A Wake Up Found a place. Ordering the kit today.
You have to do what you have to do for your home. It was simply a home improvement. You take us to the prettiest places. Thanks and see you next week on your channel.
Thanks for such a nice comment, Selisa!
Considering how much damage can be done in certain off road situations I don’t see where $2800 is all that bad. You could probably, at some point in time, shell out that much in repair bills. Anyone with eyes can figure that out! It will pay for itself eventually.
yeah, I agree..i've already done about $500 in damage before I got the lift. Thanks for watching and commenting, C.
Watching in Wisconsin. Like the look of the lift on your Travoto.
Nice...I used to live on the Wisconsin / Illinois' border. Im loving the lift as well! Thanks for watching and commenting, Patricia.
Seems like the price is well worth it to have the reward to go more places. Nice job on this and your other videos
It really is!
Great idea....All the best with your lift kit !!!!!!
Please look up Trent and Allie, fellow UA-camrs, while in the Salt Lake area. They are building a cabin in the mountains. Neat couple.
All the best,
Dave and Su
Thanks...Im loving the lift so far. I love Trent and Allie's channel...didn't realize they were in the SLC area. Thanks for watching and commenting, Dave & Su.
👍Great visuals of how the lift helps. It was definitely worth getting the lift. I don’t know what it takes to do that kind of work but the price seems reasonable. Thanks for sharing your journey. 💝 Wishing you safe travels. 🤗💞🤗
I was shocked..they had to remove my whole dashboard...no way I could have done that installation! My T would be in 1000 pieces! :)
30 And A Wake Up - 😂😆 Same. 😂
Very nice lift Kevin,
We drove that area two years ago.
Greetings from The Netherlands
Very cool...I need to get back to the Netherlands. I am really digging the lift so far for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting, Gerben.
From a Columbia, Maryland. Full of van envy.
$2800 ouch. How does that compare to sumo springs, or is that a different part?
It also has sumo springs....they give you a little lift but are mostly for ride comfort. Thank you for watching and commenting, Robert.
There you go Kevin...HOORAY!! Just you wait on THE PLACES YOU WILL go. Cheers to many more memorable adventures ALL ACROSS THE LAND! Wishing you continued safe journey ahead. Congrats!
It has already got me to a few places I wouldn't have went to. Thank you for watching and commenting, Rachel.
Great job. From Vancouver, British Columbia.
When I lived in Seattle, I used to go up to Vancouver all the time...love that city. Thanks for watching and commenting, Howard.
Thanks for posting. Good info. This will allow you to find more camp spots.
Yeah...it already has...definitely going down roads I wouldn't have if I didn't have the lift. Thanks for watching and commenting, MGA.
Well worth it, and the lift is already getting you to places you couldn’t get to before. 👍👍
Very true! Thank you for watching and commenting, Carpy.
I do not think the price tag is outrageous for what you are able to do. Of course it is not a rock crawler, not supposed to be and you never said so. But it can now get you down a few more forest roads and that is the point--well worth it. Peace of mind and practical impact. Go to it!
Yeah...Im enjoying it. Definitely been some places that I would have never went before I got the lift.
It's a done deal, so I'm happy that your happy. I'm sure you really love your Travato. Two words - Truck Camper. Took mine to Prudhoe Bay and the Arctic Ocean. 500 miles north of Fairbanks. No lift required.
Haha...that is pretty cool...a friend of mine has a Host....love those things.
@@30AndAWakeUp Researced some on the Volta system. Massive.
Read that it's more like the system on an EV. Looks it..
While you have moved on from the Promaster I remembered this video and your impressions convinced me this is the lift I want to use for mine. This and the skid plate. I remain unconvinced I need four wheel drive for my off road trips.
Yeah, this definitely opened up the things I could do with the promaster. I'd definitely recommend for those with a promaster.
OHV is a wonderfully run business with nice and trustworthy people. 💖
Very cool! Glad to hear that OHV is still taking care of folks!
Wow from Roebuck South Carolina! Totally worth it!!!😊
Agree! Thanks for watching and commenting, Tina, always makes my day when I see your comment.
30 And A Wake Up I’m glad!
And I think the lift is a good deal by the way 😁
Congrats! Love the T.
Thanks!
yeah...im really glad i got it...has made all the difference...
Great video! Watching from Cornwall, SW UK!
Very cool. Thanks for stopping by again, Richard.
Nice! Totally worth the money.
I agree! Thanks or watching & commenting, Marjorie.
It looks good...as long as you like it...who cares what others think...I spent $5000 on my lift and 5 new wheels and off road tires....and I love my promaster....God Bless....
Well said! Thanks for watching and commenting, 1Warrior.
Haha..yeah for sure. Im happy with the decisions so far. Thanks for the comment.
Wow I think my van was already lifted when I bought it? It's so high...😮
☺️
@30AndAWakeUp It's a 22' Thor Rize
Van looks great! From Vancouver Canada.
Thanks...Im loving the lift so far.

Awww thanks Stephanie...really appreciate that.
It was pricy, but considering the type of camping you do it was a good investment. Have fun out there!
Yeah, I agree...already did some damage...so hopefully it pays for itself!
We had it done with our VWCrafter, in Australia, Busselton, West Australia
Im loving it so far. Definitely been able to get to more places because I have the lift. Thanks for watching and commenting, Louise and Frank
30 And A Wake Up when you make It to Australia please visit, it is wonderful for RV vans
What stands out for me, is the professional and attention to details involved in the lift job, feeling good about a job well done is worth the $2,800, it raises the value of the vehicle, not lessen it. You made the right decision and went to the right place.
Yeah, I agree. You actually have to remove the dashboard to do this lift. I much rather have some professionals do it, than my amateur self! Thanks Danny!
It makes the van look awesome.
I think so too! Thanks for watching and commenting, Bill.
you are welcome I've been investigating putting a lift on my 1998 Ram high top van as you know it also sits low to the ground
yeah...im loving it so far. definitely been able to places I wouldnt have if I didn't have it.
Glad you got the lift. Makes it safer for your van and much more fun and adventurous for you. Have a blast💥

Amazing! I will do it to mine too when i get it.
I've been really happy with it.
