Just Booked my Luxe Beige Baleno Alpha Manual today...90 days waiting....anyways wish me luck .....my first ever car....but i also love i20....both are fab cars....and right now, the prices between baleno and i20 are almost identical....
infact if you ask me, i20 is more VFM....for same price it is giving you a bigger touchscreen, Bose Sound system compared to Arkamys....a sunroof.....yes Baleno has a 360 cam and a HUD..but I would prefer the feature list of i20....
it's just that where I live the maruti network is much stronger and the workshop and this dealership is next door and also a friend of mine had an i20 elite and she told me her ownership experience was subpar in terms of reliability of the car...so i choose baleno...and also in this Luxe Beige colour, the Baleno just looks top notch..even better than i20 imho....
but of course looks are subjective....I agree with most of your points..I test road both of them for over 10 kms...multiple times....before making a choice...the tractability of baleno's engine is much better than i20...in terms of Naturally Aspirated options...i20 does have better high speed stability and brakes...but in terms of space, i20 is more spacious, sure the boot is a little smaller, but the rear seat space is unmatched, even putting some sub compact SUVs to shame...
i20 also has a lot of creature comforts such as wireless charger, air purifier and the list goes on....Baleno does have slightly better seats...
it's almost inseparable, like king kong vs godzilla....
anyways both are fantastic cars, anyone will be happy with either...and both are evenly priced as well with good dealer/service network and very acceptable ownership costs...i20 was released in 2019, maybe it is due for a minor update...
Baleno has way better mielage compared to i20,i use i20 2018 and i get 9-10 mielage in city

Centre Arm-Rest misssing in the Top variant is unacceptable. I think it should be made mandatory .
The most funniest part about car makers these days is that things like a Crawl function, hill hold assist are Premium features 😂 whereas Hyundai in their older 2010 i10 had all of this and never boasted about it as well. And the fact that back then the insulation given in the car and how refined hyundai cars were back then where you just heard a small engine running noise and 10% noise of the surroundings (it was that silent of a car and refined). Now cars hardly even offer such refinement and good sound insulation 😂

I've never liked the Baleno so much, but to be honest, it had the better petrol engine than its NA rivals, i20 struggled on inclines with 4 on board. But the sheer number of mangled remains of Baleno in an accident made it dislike it even more. Its not just sheet metal but the structural integrity of a cabin that matters and hopefully its a safer cabin now. Not a fan of the blue accents but the new design cabin looks much better. The old Baleno interiors dated even when it was launched. One thing I am curious about, the start stop tech in general, does it cut off the AC when it shuts off the engine? how does this effect the cabin temp esp at long signals on a hot summer's day?
It cuts off AC when it shuts off the engine. You can however turn the start-stop system off via a button on the dash.
Start-stop is a gimmick. Serves no purpose in a hot climate.

Same with the i10 that struggles on inclines with 4 on board. Got to turn off the AC if needed and lower the gear in the AMT to let it climb the incline
what about fuel per km ?
Per km about 60-65 ml of fuel in the city and about 50-55 ml on the highway

Backseat armrest is a MUST in a car of this price and segment. It adds much to the comfort and overall experience. Huge miss from Maruti.
It is deliberate. It takes away the comfort of the middle occupant.

@@veekay9977it shouldn't be called a feature 😂 ye apni khud ki Flaw ek feature ke naam pe bechke bach rahe hai. Unke gaadiyon ka steering kabhi centre me nai aata tha 😂 EPS hone ke baad bhi.
Seemed like a very biased video, The presentation was good and very detailed but there are issues with Baleno in terms of quality still in the newer model.
Do MARUTI has the guts to do NCAP ? Another 1 star car?
