It is not just her skills with her instrument that makes her so good, it is Akani's ability to read and interpret the music and then compose her own part of it that sets her apart from the rest of the drumming world.....
We always think she's amazing listening to their songs, but isolating her brilliance is very illuminating. She obviously puts in a lot of work to get this great!
She writes down on music sheets, every hit of all the songs. If you've got or seen the Behind the Scenes tour of America film of the band, there is a scene of her doing it pre-show. She has her school girl pencil case and looks so nerdy.

This how she feels the drum in a song should be. That applies to all of them. Some say the make things harder for themselves but I think is just a higher IQ. I mean hear MISA, Konami, the amount of words and quality in the Lyrics with melodies. When you surround yourself with smart people like musical prodigies they will keep leveling up.

Although she's playing to a click you can feel how she pushes and pulls against it tiny delays and advances to draw you in. MISA, Miku and Saiki will be playing off that too. So often they're ever so slightly in and out of time. Sometimes she plays a phrase with that hanging on the resolving beat and not at others just to keep us awake. Not surprising but astonishing how she says she sees a score in front of her as she plays. Probably why she is so relaxed and in the zone for hours. She's following the map and driving the magic bus. Must take a lot of the stress out of it if you have that kind of memory. Very much a classical musician's method.

Although I am biased I do think Akane is brilliant at not over doing her support for the music. She seem to always get it spot on.

It's no surprise our human gorilla eats so much food, her drumming in general is insane and the rapid fire kick drumming is next level awesome. 🍌🦍😄❤🤘
