Oh my godd...... i attended that concert that day...they were promoting the "On a roll" cd. I remember that i spoke with Carl and he looked a bit fragile, but he could play. Also met Tom Aros (percussionist). I remember that Steve Laury was not playing in the band that evening. I think it was either Evan Marks or Kiko Cebrian playing the guitar. I also remember that after the concert i heard that WCDJ was changing the format to country music. I was so sad!! I was able to listen to that station from 1991 to 1993 . Good times! Thanks for posting this gem
I do so miss Fattburger. I went to grad school in San Diego in the early 80's and got to know Carl well. Even hired the band to play an event my organization was hosting. RIP my friend.
Wow this version of "Good News" at 1:18:48 is really good! I like how this slower version sounds compared to the original. "Good News" is my introduction to Fattburger and is still my favorite song of theirs.
I think it's slower because of little sound recording & capture issue. You'll noticed that the sound key and chord was more lower than original (Bob James "Angela" in the closing theme also affected from this)
1. Night After Night - 03:28 2. Almost An Angel - 11:06 3. Who Put Meat In My Bed - 17:56 4. 59th Street - 21:25 5. Don't Think About It - 28:33 6. Imagine This - 37:25 7. Just Got Lucky - 44:28 8. @@kennypr He play as session guitarist & composed in some songs of Fattburger "On A Roll" album. 🙂 One of the best guitar player ever. I don't know did he have a chance to play with them or not (Because Fattburger have a very few live performance capturing and recording surface) But I think it's possible.
In this live. I noticed that the band music arrangement was foreshadowing what they would be doing in future album like "Livin Large" and "All Natural Ingredigents" (Lots of song arrangement in this live remind me of "So Far So What" and "The Grip" from this album) Still sad that they didn't have a chance to remake their song from their past 5 albums (Steve Laury era) I think it would be interesting to hear it because Evan Marks playing style was a bit different from Steve (And I love Evan Marks playing :) ) But by the way. Why WCDJ make the key chord in this program lower than original ? Even Angela from Bob James sound strange in this one 😅
I'd like to know the type of keyboard that Carl Evans Jr. using on this one. Also what's the name of sound that he mainly play (That's Rippingtons also love to use in early 90s, Also similar sound of EWI that T-Square love to use)
IF I remember it was like a Yamaha DX100(not sure). He was workin that pitch wheel pretty hard on his solos...don't know about the sound setting but sounded like a bright classic DX sound...he was muckin with it somewhere in the middle of the set.

On 1993 who play guitar in this live ? Kiko Cibrian or Evan Marks ?
I truly think Evan Marks. Carl Evans Jr. says "Mark Shapiro on guitar".
@@RAYRAYDAY Thank you very much 🙂
Did Kiko played with them ?

This is one of the Roland D-50 brass presets. He also uses the "shakuhachi" preset from Roland D-50.
He always played on Roland D-50 🎹

That would be from their album 'Living in Paradise'... One of their best albums I would say.
