There are interviews of Priscilla praising her performance and Austin performance stunned her.

@@fabulousbookfiend9127 In interviews with Baz and the stars. Austin says he met her just as he was going into Graceland and she told him he has big shoes to fill. They said she actually had to spend a long time composing herself after seeing it the first time. She told Baz that if Elvis were there he would sat, "hot damn, he is me." The interviews with Lisa Marie are really cute. She said that if he doesn't get the Oscar she is going to eat her foot.

@@fabulousbookfiend9127 Austin always talking coincidences because both of their mothers died when they were 23. They both taught themselves guitar and piano. However, Austin had never sang to anyone before. Today I realized that Austin was born Aug 17, 1991, the day after the 14th anniversary of Elvis' death.

His manager didn't just gaslight him, he manipulated him as well. I honestly wish the manager didn't get to live a long life because of the way he treated Elvis. I was pretty pissed off with him by the end of the film. I honestly just think it's so tragic that Elvis didn't get to live a long life while his cruel manager lived a long time. The good thing about it, though, is that Elvis is always remembered and revered and his manager won't be remembered.

Oh I agree that he manipulated him, all part of the gaslighting! I'm glad that Elvis didn't want him remembered.

By the way, Hank Snow said that of all the people he worked with Col Parker was by far the worst. BB King was 10 years older than Elvis and died in 2015 at 90. Later in life they asked him what Elvis was like and he said something like, he was a really nice guy, extremely generous and unbelievably polite. I remember you would see in all kinds of stories about how he would go to by one person a car and ask someone he didn't even know if they needed a car. He bought house, paid doctor bills and all kinds of stuff. I found out recently that he is responsible for raising money for the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor because they ran out of money.

Tom Hanks did a great job of playing the crooked manager, Austin Butler was just fantastic!! I loved every second of this flim, and when Austin did the first performace in Vegas, in the white suit I was ready to do what all the women did back then!!!! Standup and scream!!!! Austin was so sincere in his playing of Elvis!! He honored Elvis with that preformance!!

I grew up in Houston, Texas and today I decided to go on Portal to Texas History for old newspaper stories and I came across this notes for a script done by a Dallas reporter on Oct. 24, 1956. There are 2 pages that you can't read because they are two light, but these two are really kind of cute.
    Oct 24, 1956
All Dallas was mystified about the whereabouts of Elvis Presley. But not WBAP-TV reporter Jim Murray...He spotted this car with Tennessee plates, over-parked. And he says ol' Elvis must be in this cafe, having himself a bowl of chili---and sure nuff, there he was. (Note in margin: Closeup of Elvis)Pictures while he's eating--it doesn't bother him none, says it'd bother him if you didn't make pictures... The rock-and-roll singer is on his way to Waco for an appearance tonight. While he's waiting for his pants to get pressed, he consents to an offer by commercial photographer Winnie Johnson to make his portrait.
    MAN CARRIES PANTS.
The trousers he bought are ready--school is out in Oak Cliff--and Elvis wants to get his pelvis moving toward Waco before there's a riot in his honor.
    TWO GALS.
Heartbreak hotel you say---these two are real down low because they missed him.
    MAN ON PHONE
Jeweler Joe Sidwebber calls his daughter to tell her he talked to Elvis--she wouldn't believe it.
    MAN AND WOMAN.
Maurice Rueben and Freda Lentz show the kind of cap Elvis bought for himself and the band,
    MAN
...Tailor Dan Runner says he never altered three pairs of pants so fast in all his life...
    GAL
...Winnie Johnson, who made his picture, says she's still shaky and nervous--hopes the picture is good.
    GALS
...The girls want a souvinir, even though he's gone and what more could you ask than the straws he drank from. Restaurant owners Angelo and Catherine Balantos say he was just another guy who dropped in for a bowl of chili.

I don't think there are recordings of Col Parker talking, at all. When he was in control of Elvis he had been in the country 30 years trying to hide all of his past so I would guess his accent wasn't even and by the way most people who have written books about him think he killed a 23 year old woman the week he left Holland.

@@fabulousbookfiend9127 There are some short reviews on line about him. He disappeared from Holland some say the same day the woman died and everyone agrees he left that week. His family saw him in a photo of Elvis at the door of the train bringing him home after Germany. Everyone I have read agree that Parker was diagnosed as psychotic before the incident in the army. He had a very nasty temper. No one witnessed the actually beating, but people described a guy dressed fairly well in a yellow jacket and that was his favorite color. He was a carnie and did the same kind of work in Holland. When he left he left with nothing, not even his clothes.

I remember seeing some of his movies, I was a teenager when most came out. I checked "Flaming Star" out again because I like it at the time. I forgot it started with a song. Anyway, one thing I noticed was in the beginning credits Col. Parker is listed as some kind of advisor, but it is in letters bigger than most of the credits. I haven't checked his other movies, but I am sure that was part of the contract.
