An Awesome Valentine's Day gift: How to make a Giant Paper Rose. DIY Long Stemmed Red Rose Tutorial

Make a BIG statement to show your love, with this giant long-stemmed red rose. This tutorial shows how to make a big paper rose using only red and green paper. Surprise your sweetheart with this beautiful giant paper flower, or decorate your home or wedding party with many of these. Each rose will take unto an hour to make. The detailed steps are given below.

This tutorial uses materials that you can find at home or can get easily.
You will need:
-Red paper of thickness 150-250 gsm
-Green paper of thickness 150-250 gsm
-A straight stick / bamboo of length approximately 4-5 feet
-Craft Glue
-Scissors
-Pencil / pen
Fold a full size red chart paper (size roughly 25 by 36 inches), into 4 parts. Or use an A3 size red sheet for each petal. Draw a petal shape and cut the shapes out to make petals.
Repeat this step to make 10-12 petals in all.
Take the first petal and roll the red paper tightly around the stick, and use glue to it attach it to the stick. Apply glue to the base of another petal and wrap it around the central petal, sticking the base to the stick with glue.
For the next 3-5 petals, use a long cylindrical object like a pen to help roll the edges of the petals. Then wrap and stick the petals one by one, around the centre of the rose.
For the last 4-5 petals, roll the edges same as before. Then cut a slit in the base of the petal and wrap it around the rose centre.
Cut some thin sepal shapes from green paper. Stick them to the base of the rose and to the stick.
Cut strips of green paper around 2 inches wide. Wrap and stick them around the stick to make it green.
Cut a serrated leaf from the green paper. Fold it down the middle and attach it to the stick with glue.
Your giant long-stemmed rose is ready to melt someone's heart!
