- I'm back out in the plains for a couple weeks of chasing! On May 31, 2022, the SPC issued an enhanced risk for severe weather from the Texas Panhandle, extending into SE Kansas. Despite a meager (2%) tornado risk for the day, a couple supercells managed to become well organized, displaying beautiful structure and producing a few brief spin-ups. Linear hodographs resulted in splitting storm modes with 2 of the right turning supercells becoming tornado warned. I intercepted the first near Arkansas City Kansas in the evening. This storm apparently had a brief tornado touchdown but I could not confirm this from my location. However, throughout its lifecycle the storm had several rotating wall clouds and produced a prolific amount of CG lightning. Many of these strikes occurred in the inflow notch in clear air, making the storm that much more dangerous.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
need more Hudson valley chases!!! im from orange county ny

Thanks! I live in Dutchess and chase locally as much as I'm able. I have several Hudson Valley chase videos. Unfortunately this year has not presented many opportunities so far. I'm hoping that changes. The next few videos I upload will be from my great plains trip, but I will try to find some storms locally over the coming months.
@@storm12weather o trust me I watched them all 5 times. I remember all of them to! Just started getting into the complex areas of Meteorology and started chasing. Sadly I can’t drive yet so I rely on my parents help. I plan on casing every event as soon as I turn 16 in august when I can drive .I will be sure to comment and check In with you on upcoming event just saw your Nebraska chase insane stuff man keep it up!
@@weathertracker2517 That's great! Just remember when you start chasing yourself to put personal safety above everything else. Driving, especially long distances, can be hazardous if you're not careful. I chased locally for a while and didn't start driving farther until a bit later.
