    In this video I am remodelling and updating my home office where I spend a lot of time drawing, designing and editing. The remodel consists of a new desk setup and acoustic treatment on the walls.

    sound absorbing panels are more effective when there is a space between them and the wall

      Generally true, but I do not need any extra absorption. It is performing just right as they are mounted currently.

    Loocks great!
    But the supports under the table look like they could be a pain in the knee xD

      They actually do not cause an issue. The angle is enough not to cause a problem.

    Curious as to why you used nylon screw plugs to mount the desk to the wall? Those don't hold a lot of weight. You can see it moving as you are screwing the center braces in.
    Those nylon screw plugs are ok for hanging pictures and light shelves that never see any movement. Over time those nylon screw plugs start to loosen up. With leaning on the desk and the occasional person who is inevitably going to sit on the edge it's going to fail in short time.
    Why didn't you screw this to the studs in the wall?

      It's a brick wall, no studs in the wall. The nylon anchors are more than strong enough, and have been holding up very well even after all this time.

    Nice, I wonder what those absorbers would look like with LED inside. 🙈

    As I am an expert in building really bad furniture, can I suggest those brackets under the desk should all be rounded off with a router or you will constantly bang you knees into them and trust me, it's not fun.

    It does hurt a little bit to see those monitors set up so low and near a big reflective surface (the desk) after all that hard work. Very clean build though otherwise!

    • @SoundBlab
      @SoundBlab  2 роки тому +1

      The build is not done yet. I will definitely still do something about that, but for now this is what I had time for. I am not mixing professionally either, so as long as I can get reasonable goos sound it is fine anyway. But you make a good point otherwise.

      Perhaps you could make matching mini speaker stands like the big stands you posted today 😉
