I saw Symphony X in Orlando a few years back on their duel headlining tour with Iced Earth. Symphony X blew Iced Earth out of the water. I was awestruck.

Thos is a Magnum Opus kind of song, one of the greates, maybe the greatest, mastodont song ever written. Imagine being able to compose something like this...triumphant!!! And Sir Russel Allen. No words needed, legend!
Yes! One of my favourite songs of all time, from one of my fave bands. I bought the album this song is off about 20 years ago, and this song blew my mind the first time I heard it. It's such an incredible epic, I love it!
Michael Romeo, the only guitarist in the band, also composed the orchestral pieces which were then synthesized (there isn't an actual orchestra playing on the song). About 10 years prior to this, he also composed a demo track consisting of the Star Wars suite done on guitar :)

Brains behind this behemoth of a composition is Michael Romeo. Still one of his best works for sure. Russell Allen's vocals is the cherry on top!
Great reaction. What comes into my mind, the Odyssey. This is 20 years old. I was all over this when it came out. It's a masterpiece. The whole album flows. Incredible song writing.

Michael Romeo wrote all the classical parts of this. He could write a full symphony if he wanted to. He is a well trained and educated musician. He could write for a whole orchestra if needed! What a talent!
Here in my village no one don't want to listen this song when I play they said it's too long and bored. They don't fell like I its a journey ,nd the seas. But when u 2 react this I fell like we listen together thank u 2 😌

The lead guitarist Michael Romeo composed the music to the entire song. He did the entire Star Wars Suite and transposed it for 16 guitars, that's awesome as well!

Epic tale by homeros made even better with music. Well done Romeo. Bit too much some symphonic stuff here and there but it's a journey...and he was learning that shit that time. one of the best "songs" ever made
As others have noted, the singer of Symphony X is Russell Allen who sang the part of the president on Ayreon's " The Day That The World Breaks Down ". You need to do yourselves a favor and check out Russell Allen singing with Trans Siberian Orchestra on a song called For the Sake of Our Brother " ( the live version). It's pretty stunning.

I believe Michael Romeo tge guitarist wrote all the music for this he composed all the parts I’m not sure about the vocal lines there is a live video of them playing this at a festival also Russell has a project that just released with Annette the secound singer from nightwish they both sing
