You talked about them going to a booth and recording it. I don't know if you've heard yet, but their vocals were recording in a closet. The music video was filmed in a kitchen/dining area. They only spent $400 recording Daft Punk! It's really crazy when you think about it. Then, you see them doing this song in the private performance, you just become more mesmerized with their talent! Also, be on the lookout for Avi's new album that comes out in just a couple of weeks. I'm really excited for it!
It is insane how great the editing is for the video. I wouldn’t figure it could have been done without some editing software but I sure wouldn’t have a clue where to start. Let alone to get anything like the official video is. But with this being a “live” version it looks so impromptu. Did they do post editing on it too before releasing? If so, I think that’s pretty impressive too cause they are all on screen so splicing together would sure take a very trained eye. Thus, their timing to remember all the stops, breaks and repeats (not sure what to call them) is even more insane. They are so incredibly talented. They know it too but not in a conceited way. They are always smiling and the love for what they are doing shows thru in every video. I love watching the behind the scenes bloopers, Superfruit and just being happy friends having a blast. They aren’t afraid to show us they’re people too. I feel that is what makes them so over the top incredible.
I don't believe this was officially released from the group as it was filmed on someone's camera. So, there would have been no production of any kind on it.
These performances usually are done before their VIP audience in a before-show event. But showing their pure talent and ability to blend and time a performance in this informal manner is simply beyond my ability to comprehend.
Happy Birthday. Thank you for reacting to this video of PTX performing for a Make-A- Wish young man. They grant a lot wishes for sick kids through Make-A Wish in different forms before concerts. You can see them doing it in several PTXperience videos. The kids are always so adorable it's kind of tear inducing.
There's a reason why Shawn Stockman called Avi and Kevin, meat and potatoes on The Sing Off (Season 3). They are 100% the foundation (and now Matt is) of this group. Their ability to hold down the bass and percussion lines allows the Trio (Mitch, Scott, Kirstie) to do the vocal gymnastics they are all so good at. And yeah you miss a lot of Avi's lowest notes in this because there is no mic, but you can see him still making the effort, so it definitely was there, just subaural.
From what I’ve read in comments audio recorded in the closet, video filmed and edited in the kitchen on a laptop. I don’t know if that’s 100% accurate, but I’ve read it many times in comments on the original and numerous reaction videos.
@@radbrad1935 If you watch/read multiple PTX interviews, you will see them talking about that themselves. Scott even mentioned it in their Grammy acceptance speech in 2014.
@@j.6133 That’s awesome. I haven’t found the time to search for any videos of them talking about it themselves, but I’m glad to hear that they made it public knowledge and that it’s not just repeated rumors from different comment sections on UA-cam. So much respect, that’s some awesome talent with incredible dedication to back it up.
@@radbrad1935 filmed in the kitchen, but they had their video production company do the editing. The same company they still use actually. They did the recording for a whopping total of $400, but they did have to pay something for the editing beyond that.
@@super_siri Oh ok, cool, I learned something new :) I didn’t know they had contact with a video production team at the time, knowing how the record label had dropped them 2 weeks after winning the sing-off, granted I know very little about the timeline of their early days. Only what I’ve read in youtube comments on reaction channels. (TLDR disclaimer for the ‘personal monologue’ that the rest of this comment became lol) I have to admit, while I’ve known about PTX for years, I wasn’t really one to explore much outside of my “comfort zone” growing up, which included music. I’m 30 now and grew up on classic Rock from my dad and country from my mom, so that was the majority of what I listened to with the occasional classical or jazz songs I explored due to my being in concert and jazz band from 5th grade through high school grad. A few of they’re early Christmas songs were the only things I’d heard from PTX until recently (Summer 2021) after I ‘rediscovered’ my first Peter Hollens and Tim Foust collab video that I’d initially seen around 7-8 years ago when it was first posted. That branched me out to Home Free first (because of Tim, but also due to my Country Music upbringing) then to Voiceplay and PTX shortly after, and since then I’ve found myself binging as much of all of they’re content as I have spare time for, and surprisingly following a number of different reactors to see other people’s opinions on these amazing artists. (I never understood the point of reaction channels and why anyone would watch someone else watch something, and admittedly I used to think they were kinda dumb :( oh if only I could tell my past self how dumb I was for ever thinking that lmao).
The diggery do sound is Avi doing overtone singing along with his bass note. Something I used to think was impossible. He has a demonstration video of it.
@@RollingDutchmann It's a thing in music where when you hit two discordant notes at the same time, they make a third note that just magically exists. @@RollingDutchmann no there's another name for it. It's a like an optical illusion for your ear. The dissonance creates a third note where the frequencies combine.
Avi does all the wind noises and always did. Avi is the one who won the international acapella award that renamed it from beatboxer to rythmn section. He does quite a bit of beatboxing with Pentatonix sometimes to let Kevin breath for example. Glad you had a great birthday Dennis! I'm so glad that you finally watched and reacted to this one. They are all just so excellent, even without electronic enhancements! I love going back and watching them do this and others in these private, off mic performances, showing that they are for real.
