Sunny War is the most brilliant and complete musician and songstress in America. Pure Genius flows through her body and mind. They say that a little insanity is found in every genius and there is a small amount of insanity in every note she sings or plays. She is a virtuoso guitar player and reminds me of a female Jimi Hendrix of acoustical guitar. I love her work and as a personality she is gentle despite the pain she has lived through. Her Bass guitar player was well chosen to accompany her. We laugh with her and we cry with her because in some magical way she knows us better than we know ourselves, collectively. She reminds me of a person I loved many years ago . Thank you Sonny for being a wonderful person and a marvellous musician who works hard to share her joys and pains with us. I just decided to click on this . It says posted 4 months ago . 1,000 or so views ...I think she's going to be the next Tracy Chapman !!! What a truly amazing ,real ,creative ,gifted duo !!! Wow !! I would love to play drums with them . I hope they come to Memphis before they play wembley !!!!! Wow !!
I knew her when she busked on the Venice beach boardwalk.one day she said her lead player didn't show up and she couldn't make any money. I said bull,you"re good enough by yourself! Got her a milk crate to sit on,opened her case,weighed a dollar bill down with 2 quarters and sat down at rose Ave. and the boards.within a half hour or so she had more than ten dollars! I also told her to sing more,makes a more complete show. Now about 5 years later she is a bonafide star! She's been on Jimmy Kimmel. I hope she doesn't lose that street musician busker spirit! 3:50
