Only a gigantic talent & soul like Sunny War could take us to church, confess so clearly, and sing and play in a way that captures... every star? every blade of grass? every person's best and most frightening days? Definitely all the emotions. Bi-, tri-, or however many polars they lay on us... keep singing and writing for us. Every time I watch or hear Sunny War, my own soul expands. Just: Amazing!

Sunny War is the most brilliant and complete musician and songstress in America. Pure Genius flows through her body and mind. They say that a little insanity is found in every genius and there is a small amount of insanity in every note she sings or plays. She is a virtuoso guitar player and reminds me of a female Jimi Hendrix of acoustical guitar. I love her work and as a personality she is gentle despite the pain she has lived through. Her Bass guitar player was well chosen to accompany her. We laugh with her and we cry with her because in some magical way she knows us better than we know ourselves, collectively. She reminds me of a person I loved many years ago . Thank you Sonny for being a wonderful person and a marvellous musician who works hard to share her joys and pains with us. You are of star quality and your unusual world class talent will soon take you places. Watch the F-bombs and accompanying colorful verbalizations ! In leaving I want to say I love you ! A friend always !

Wasn’t familiar of her before seeing she was on Kurt Vile’s current tour. Not trying to knock her ability, but to me each song sounds pretty much the same. Depressed lyrics & nasally vocals over repetitive basic open chords.
