let me tell you that I learnt a lot from you :)), my level wouldn´t be as good as it is now if it wasn´t for you. Thanks a lot EmRatThich. And thankl you as well Timo Boll
Timo - You left out the crucial technical part! there is a catapult effect in your wrist, right before you hit the ball. your hand snaps back shortly and comes back with high speed when the ball is hit.
Was Du anpackst, scheinst Du zu schaffen.
U have no idea how much u are helping people around the world with your explanations!!! This video unlocked the many reasons y my forehand topspin were bad. Thank you Timo.
The pitch sound of the ball is one of the most satisfying things of the sport. Great video! Even for more amateur/beginners. Most coaches will tell trainees to hit at the highest point, but later when developing a more advance techniques, you sometimes need to go back to the basics. thanks!
Well done Timo, you explain things clearly, videos are not too long, very down to earth and easy to understand. Good idea to start with UA-cam videos, congratulations and all the best in the future work.
Timo, you are an absolute legend and I have learnt so much from you over the years. I have your bat and play with T05 on both sides. And I am a leftie too. I hope once you have retired you will be able to make more table tennis videos to share your talent and knowledge with the world!
The title 'heaviest spin ever' comes from MaLin, shows the admiration and respect to Timo. Also learnt a lot in this video! Hope one day I can get the same spinnest shot!
Timo you are doing a great service to table tennis comunity. Thank you! You started a new remarkable chapter in your table tennis career and also another roll model to the pros in sharing their knowledge. Awesome video again!
Thank you Timo. The video is really clear and to the point. And the low motion video is an amazing idea. Nearly as amazing as you are! I hope we can see you in action for many more years
I'm a southpaw just like him and I've been trying to imitate this for years. It's not perfect but it made me the best player in the green zone in Iraq back then. For some odd reason, all guys in my squad are into TT when I still in the service and we like to watch bootleg TT tournament vcd. it was hawked in the traditional market in Iraq. My team mates all hate my shot that curving to their body. Thanks for the coaching vid.
True. It has got to be the spinniest forehand in the pro circuit. Timo's one of the trickiest players to play against that's for sure. Amazing how you're still playing pro, Timo. I hope you can keep it up for many more years!
What a treat; an explanation from the greatest. I’m amazed that you fall back a bit in this stroke, but that is likely one of the variables that allows for the THIN brush.
Hi, Timo Boll! You are certainly one of my favorite and legendary players of all time. I am really grateful to be in the same generation to watch your performance. I would like to use a small portion of this video as an example of perfect loop to explain how to workout for forehand loop. I will surely leave a credit to your channel!
My Top player on my List. Best movement, forehand, backhand, foot and ball Position. I ve learned your Serve(the side one) with lots of practise. Great player Timo Boll

The knowledge you share is priceless. Your videos and coaching skills has motivated me to get back into the beautiful sport of table tennis Thank you and all the best. In your continued successful playing career.
Thanks Timo Boll for the tutorial ❤️❤️❤️👍... My dream is to meet you in person and go to train and play with you... Like you, I love this sport, too bad I discovered it late. I have been practicing it for 15 years and I really enjoy playing and spreading this sport in my city, Concepción. Many greetings to you and your family. Victor Perez Concepcion-Chile
Really high quality videos. Love it! Keep posting this kind of coachvideos. My serves are now getting deadly with the help of your previous servevideo.
Hello Timo, Thank you for your channel. May I request you to discuss 2 key items: 1. How do you practise increasing your match focus? 2. What game strategy do you use in general? How do you develop your strategy?
@@ItamarGlikman Original question: "I thought your signature shot is the hand switch? ;) Timo: I'd rather call that a shot for emergency situations, because nowadays I've become too slow ;)
This makes sense. If you hit the ball at its highest point the ball will bounce up about 80% of the height from which you hit it unless you hit it down into the table. In this case it will bounce up even higher. The ball should be at its highest when it crosses the net. To do this you must loop the ball from below net height so it just goes over the net. Then it won't bounce up over net height. In fact the ball should bounce out low due to the Magnus effect and fast from the spin pushing off the table.
0:40. Seeing this match i always remember wang liqin's crazy, insane, alien inside out fh with unbelievable side spin to Timo. Timo's reaction (which is seen in the reply) says it all... Hey Timo, do you remember that shot?
That match indeed gave all Chinese audience include the CNT a deep impression. Timo’s back hand counter loop was out of the world, LGL said he had nightmares about Timo defeating CNT by his backhand which was beyond the time.
Honestly i am not that new to table tennis i know some Advanced stuff, i just started training today, and i found out that you have a channel, never subscribed faster in my life Keep up the good work!
I used to go for this heavy spin, it's a lot of fun and like you said in the video, the aim was not to hit it very fast, that way the opponent would have to block in the falling phase and the ball would 'pop up' when they did that . But this also puts more stress on the elbow and knees than a conventional topspin so I've stopped relying on it as much :/
Very interesting Timo. I am trying to get my head around your comment about hitting the ball at a low point , e.g. table height or even lower. I have always been taught to try to hit near the top of the curve to get a maximum margin to produce a curve that will land on (the opposite end of) the table. But I guess the trade off is different when trying to produce a slow spinny topspin? Can you elaborate about the why? Is it about the possibility to get a more gentle brush on the ball?
Vielen Dank, Timo.
It is good balanced racquet as he mentioned. Quite balanced. For Local tournament, I use it. It has everything that you if you are fit and willing to give all for the point.

'As you can see, it's not an easy stroke' yes, that's why you are Timo Boll and we aren't 😁👊🏼
