Just a note, I've moved a LOT in my life and we've never ever bought boxes. The trick is to go to liquor stores and ask them for theirs or if you know anyone who works at a resturant, they can save wine boxes for you usually. Total Wine has a big shelf in front of the registers with empty boxes people can just take! Hopefully this helps someone out for the future!!
You’re an OG if you can remember the lines “Hello, I’m Michelle Ferrè, and I’m a teacher in Maryland”... now it feels weird hearing “Hello, I’m Michelle Emerson and I’m a teacher in Texas”. No hate... just getting use to it. ❤️ from NC.
I can’t believe your stuff fit in that pod! We needed two trucks for all of ours! Something to be said for minimalism. Congratulations on the move; the new place is lovely x
You are just so great at filming the details! We are moving to the Dallas area from Indiana so I moved all my classroom supplies and furniture to a 10x10 storage unit and it just fits all packed in like sardines. Our house is being shown so I brought boxes from home to another storage unit until we actually make the move. I understand that feeling of being proud how you consolidated and fit things into your pod! Blessings on your unpacking process. I think that’s the fun part though!
We moved into our house almost 18 years ago (in October) and I swore I was never moving again. And watching your video reinforced that for me 😉 I hate packing so much! Excited for you guys!
Welcome to Texas!!!!! I am so excited for you and Billy. I have been following your career from the beginning and I can't wait to see your new Vlog adventures!
I am so excited for you and Billy’s next adventure! You definitely get a gold medal from me in organization because this was very well done! You definitely are a champion Tetris organizer😎, question is how good are you at the video game version? You should not be ashamed with all the bins you have because teacher life (bins are a must)!
Don't feel bad about all the classroom supplies. My one car garage is filled with all my classroom stuff. I think I have about 20 paper file boxes filled with books. It is overwhelming and I'm getting ready to sell what I can because I will either be retiring this summer or next, I'm still trying to figure it all out. If I don't retire this summer, I will be substituting in the coming year and don't need all the stuff. Good luck. You are doing great.
I’ll be a new teacher soon, just graduated. Depending how far away we are from each other, would you be open to donating or selling classroom supplies to me?
Excited for this next adventure you and Billy are going on. Thanks for sharing with all of us! Hope the drive goes smoothly. Can’t wait to hear all about it!
Great job at packing and fitting everything in the POD. So excited for you to come to Texas. When you get situated, come visit San Antonio. Best of luck!😊
A few years ago, I moved my classroom from one city to another. Much of my supplies were put in storage for a while, in a storage unit. When I got them to my new house and opened them, I found items that were melted and/or stuck together (such as vinyl inflatable items). You probably already thought of this, but just in case, I thought I would mention it. You are extremely organized! Have a safe trip across country!
It would be cool if you made Texas vs Maryland. What a pro vs con of each state. For someone who want to know the state better. What state you like living better. Congratulations on the move.
Excited for you and your preparedness this time around. I’m sure that feels better. How did you decide what to keep and what to leave in your classroom?
Obsessed with your moving vlogs right now as I am planning a move next fall! How did you decide where in Texas to move? We are overwhelmed with the possibilities!
Since you are moving to Austin Texas/somewhat closer to Oklahoma. Will you ever have a meet and greet for your Oklahoma followers? I personally would love to meet you! ❤️
Top left is me on your “cloud radar” I was born in Baltimore but raised in Pa. I really wish I could’ve got you coffee, I’ve followed you for years 😭🤦🏼♀️ maybe when you come home.
In her early teaching vlogs she used it for 2nd grade before tests and such. It’s a sugar/spice shaker filled with glitter. She put tape at the top where the holes are so only a tiny bit of glitter came out when she shook it over their heads. The 4th graders found it in her room last year and loved the idea too so she kept it haha
Just curious, what made you decide to move with a pod as opposed to a moving truck? I never used a pod before and will be moving again soon and am curious what the difference is between the two moving options?
For us, the POD had a few advantages. First, it comes with a month of storage standard. This means we could have it delivered in advance and slowly load everything on it rather than being rushed the day of or even the day before to load everything on a moving truck. Second, we both had a car to take to Austin as well as our stuff. Using the POD allowed us to individually drive our cars to Austin while our belongings were moved rather than one of us driving the moving truck. We could have towed a car behind the moving truck but then the gas mileage would have been even worse than it already is for moving trucks. Plus, the moving truck cost would have been about the same as the POD without including gas so it made a lot more sense to go with the POD.
Your living my dream haha. Only downside is the heat 😬 northern girl. I wish you all the best in Austin and your future career wherever it takes you ❤️
She said in one other video that majority of her family still lives in Maryland, but Billy has a cousin that is also moving to Austin around the same time. She did say though that she hoped more of her family might move out that way in the future because the city is really nice.
You guys must not have that much stuff or you are great at putting all your stuff into one pod. My neighbors who just moved in across the street has 3 big pods and packed their 2 cars to the rim, one a truck and one a Durango. They are a couple, with no pets or kids.
My mom was an Air Cargo Specialist in the Air Force and she would be SUPER impressed with your POD Packing Skills. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I would cry tears of joy if I opened that up at 1600 and had to square everything away. Out of my way: I have a job to do! 🤣

My grandmother swore that liquor boxes made the best moving boxes. It’s true! Thanks for the reminder!

Oml it does sound weird now that I realized
I can’t believe your stuff fit in that pod! We needed two trucks for all of ours! Something to be said for minimalism. Congratulations on the move; the new place is lovely x
I would have needed a pod just for all of my teacher stuff. 🤦♀️

Just a tip: Prepare for the cats to possibly act out when you finally get settled in the new house. There is special cat little for it. :)

So excited for you. You should be in your new home. It's Sunday. Hope you have fun unpacking and making the house yours.
The sandwich containers will always have a place in my heart. I wish you were my teacher in elementary school but I’m 23
Welcome to Texas!!!!!

I want to know more about these brain sprinkles! Sounds fun!

Did you put a mower in your POD? I didn’t think gasoline things could go in. (We’re packing two pods in about a month).
There was no gasoline in the mower when we put it on the POD.
Totally impressed!
Love your lifestyle vlogs:)
Welcome to Texas!
Congratulations ❤️
+Pocketful of Primary
I enjoy your vlogs , Michelle .
I look forward to seeing y'all's new home in Austin , Texas all done and set up .

I wish you all the best in Austin and your future career wherever it takes you ❤️
When i grow up i want to be a teacher
Me too!☺
Colors/symbols on the labels could make it easier if your getting help moving in.
You better do a video cashing in those coins at 1:54 😂😂😂
Are you going back to teaching in 2022-2023 school year
Awesome
Vlog the road trip
oh your in tx now
Did you just want new furniture or was it more expensive to move the furniture than to buy new in Austin? Just curious! Very excited for your move!
Well then you would need 2 pods or 3, so i think it was less expensive to buy new.
My husband argues about me having lots of classroom supplies , I will show him your supplies... lol 😄 Mine are nothing compared to yours. 🤣
Hi
Billy wears glasses
Are your parents joining you in Austin?
She said in one other video that majority of her family still lives in Maryland, but Billy has a cousin that is also moving to Austin around the same time. She did say though that she hoped more of her family might move out that way in the future because the city is really nice.
Congratulations and very impressive Tetris 😂
