@@L0vac Nobody started burning CDs until about 1998. If they're setting it in like 1993/4 why not have her listening to a cassette tape? The game is called Mixtape not Mix CD. Makes zero sense.
Man, this game is like if Lost Records and Life is Strange had a baby toghever, and that's enought for me. Also I believe one of the VA is Katy Bentz ( who played Steph Gingrich from LiS: Before the Storm and True Colors ), so one reason more to get it.
imagine this creativity, this desire to tell realistic stories with gameplay where there are no weapons, swords or monsters or zombies to kill, in the hands of AAA studios like Naughty Dog or Rockstar Games with huge, technically advanced titles and with innovative gameplay. When this happens the video game industry will no longer be considered just for nerds.
There is a lot of 80's and 90's crossover. I'm assuming this is supposed to be about 1991. Anyway, that guy driving the convertible; alright, alright, alriiight.
I have no idea when it's supposed to be. The logo is a burned cd, which basically nobody had til about 1997. The computer in the bedroom looks like about 1994 and would not likely have a cd burner in it. The poster is from 1992. The theme music is from 1982. Most of the cars are from the 80s. The people look like L.A. hipsters from 2015 (especially the signature moustache and yellow beanie look™). The dinosaur is from 150 million years ago. It's like they're trying to nostalgia bomb everyone at the same time.
I can't wait for this! The Artful Escape has the best use of music in a video game ever. I loved feeling like a galactic rockstar! I cried at the end, multiple times. This game seems to continue this awesome tradition!
It’s honestly insane to me how much of an impact into the Spider-verse has had to made to entertainment, graphics in games have just got so good, it just becomes stylistically boring, kind of like what happened with animation, whereas it seems this game, alongside a handful of others look very distinct and stylistic, definitely looking forward to this one for that alone
Annapurna always deliver the goods! This totally took me back to one of the best times in my life. It wasn’t all sunshine and roses, but that sense of innocence, fun and adventure were all very palpable to me in this trailer! 🥰
Kind of off-topic but still kind of on, I really want a coming of age game with a Deaf main character. The quality of this animation is so clean and clear that sign language would be understood and it would fit the aesthetic. You are living in a world that you don't fit into, and that doesn't understand you. People pressing so many expectations on you, causing you to seek out others like you or close enough so that you may express yourself in ways that you wouldn't be able to. It would also make for a unique game mechanic. This was proven in the Spider-Man 2 PS5 game. On a side mission, you get to play as Hailey Cooper, an up and coming Deaf Street artist. While playing as her, you get to experience the world from her perspective. You can't hear most sounds, and the ones you can are very muffled. She(like many Deaf people) can't read lips, so if you interact with someone who knows sign language then closed captions pop up at the bottom of the screen, and if they don't know sign, the captions will vanish because what she can understand is what you can understand. This forced you as the player to find alternative and sometimes creative ways to communicate with other characters. They also took an artistic liberty to present how she reads people. Her internal dialogue was expressed through spray paint style emoji that would appear in a thought bubble above her head, and this is how she would read others. If someone was mad, then an angry emoji would appear in a bubble above their head. I really hope there's a game like this soon. It wouldn't just fit well within the themes of such a game, but also mean a lot to a community that doesn't get a lot of spotlight.
Can't wait to go downhill on the shopping cart! There's also a game called Slackers Carts of glory that's coming out soon wich does exactly that, i'm pretty hyped
1:09 so awesome.. and i think i saw similar scene in a live action clip. any reference would be appreciated! it was probably a wheat field, some friends blowing away with the wind..like dream!
This is how you do artistic low-framerate, btw. Since I just watched another trailer where they just used a filter to reduce everything to 15 FPS and it looked really bad.
I notice that 3-4 annapurna games share some common themes like 80's nostalgia and teenagers (Artful escape, sayonara wild hearts, Open roads). This one is good but the trope is a bit played out
Lmao I was beating stray today and I was wondering what they are doing so I looked them up on UA-cam and this is what I fined omg this new game looks awesome too
The vibes are so real within this trailer. It’s kinda giving me a Road 96 with Life is Strange feeling
While being more lively than both, I cant get this trailer outta my head hours later.

Siouxie & the Banshees? Smashing Pumpkins? And is the trailer referencing Peter Schilling's "Major Tom"?
Day one for me, fo' sho'!
The first song is Devo
Love the 80s soundtrack. Felt like I was watching a new John Hughes movie.
I don't think the developers can ask for more praise than this comment
My first thought; roadtrip focused narative with growing up set in the 80s; wishlisted and I can't wait!
Except for some reason the game seemingly takes place in the early 2000s, and the game's logo is a cd. Why not just set it in the 80s.
@@ianbent0n but CD's were there in the 80s

One of the best trailers of the show
This game seems more Life is Strange than the new Life is Strange with Max Caulfield
I was about to comment the same thing😭😭
Don't know why Deck9 decided to completely abandon the semi paper cutout/painted look, it was a very good art style.
Yessss, deck nine doesn't know how to do life is strange
exactly. that one is not canon to me . just a fanfiction with big budget
This doesn't seem anything like Life is Strange outside of the graphics.
Song is More Than This by Roxy Music
Start one is That's Good - Devo
You are a god send 🙏
You never dissapointed me once. No joke you are my saviours of gaming. not even devolver digital comes close
When John Hughes and Linklater teams up to make a game 😂
The creativity in this is astounding and I wanna play it.

I believe Kelly Krauter is the lead voice on this!!
You sold me with the 80s soundtrack, can't wait!
This looks like an immediate classic. The art style, the soundtrack, all of it. This is easily one of my most anticipated announcements for 2025.

The Makers of Artful Escape! This is going to be fantastic! I cannot wait 👏🏻
Out of all the games shown, this one caught my attention the most. It looks so good.

Why is it called mixtape when it's on a CD? Shouldn't it be on a cassette?
Because the term "mixtape" is applicable to both discs, and cassettes. English ain't your strong suit, is it?
