I used the same method to clean my GG canvas bag, unfortunately i rinsed the bag upright using running water (instead of brushing with water) and the color of the leather piping transferred to the canvass 😢 now the sides are a little darker than the rest. @@giaumer514 Leather craftsman here: canvas (uncoated canvas specifically) are made of organic fibers (cotton, usually), as such, they tend to absorb dyes and stains more than synthetic fibers. The leather dyes that leaks from when leather is wet will usually be soaked into the canvas 😬 unless the canvas is coated in PVC. I don't deal with a lot of canvas projects (I'm not a fan 😅) but there's a way to actually flush out the dye with soap and water, but you'd have to be extremely skilled to do so. If you know the uncoated canvas' composition and it doesn't contain polyester, you can gradually wipe -- carefully -- with acetone. Make sure not to get any of the acetone on the leather, however, as it will ruin the leathers finish. The best method, however, is it take it to the dry cleaners. I believe some do clean handbags!

Can you clean a bag that has some kind of cardboard between the canvas and fabric the same way? I want to clean a canvas purse however I am worried the cardboard will get wet and the bag will be ruined

I used Breeze Brand liquid Laundry Soap. You can use any brand. It is fine as long not too strong, mix or dissolve with water. Thank you for watching.

You can use small brush head to brush when near to cardboard or just use wet towel tap on that area. Dry right away with dry towel after.
