Nairobi, Lake Naivasha & Hells Gate National Park | Kenya

Our first few days in Kenya were spent between Nairobi, Lake Naivasha and Hells Gate National Park in the Great Rift Valley. Our single day in Nairobi saw us visit the Giraffe Centre and the David Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary. Travelling to Naivasha we saw the descent into the Great Rift Valley over the escarpment before staying at Camp Carnelly's in a Banda on the shores of Lake Naivasha - home to hundreds of Hippos that wallow under the sound of the African Fish Eagles above. We finished this part of the trip by visiting the Hells Gate National Park, one of the few places in Africa where you can do a cycling safari. Tough going in the sand and heat whilst evading buffalo and baboons! Awesome few days before we head to our Maasai homestay and outdoor camp in the bush in Part 2....
