Nice Job. "Ask the metal to move" is how I was taught. Safelite though? From what i understand, they provide some thin aftermarket glass. I make sure I get OEM Pilkington glass, with an OEM seal, at a shop that can tell me what adhesive they use, and show me the curing tem/time chart (All Star Auto Glass in the Seattle area).
Trust me, one day I will! The funny part is that currently I have a drift car with a worn out differential that doesn’t lock/ and a broken stance car with a built high lockup LSD LOL! But I think I can at least get the M3 to do a solid burnout and that will be in the next video (;
Hey man, Car is looking great. Couple things come to mind. Low isn't the best for total angle. Offsets can play a huge role as well. Shooting for around 0 offset is great for using up the capabilities of the kit. I do realize you are going for a certain look so it's all good just putting the info out. The wheel wells are just small on these cars. MY super kit rubbed also so I shrunk the tire size even more to avoid hitting the frame rail. Went to a 205 40 17. Also you mentioned it's an M3 the so it's possible the strut mounted links are binding up a bit as well. Anyways just sharing some ideas. Not just for you but anyone else. Can always call me at the SLR Tech Line if I can help. The car is looking amazing though man. Great job with it. And sorry about the windshield. Glad I found your channel. Subbed and Liked!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. I totally agree, offset plays a huge role here. A lot of what’s dictated this setup so far has been having a look in mind and then working through ways to make it work! The front wheels are 17x8 +38 as that’s the only size Enkei made in 8” wide, and I’m running a 25mm spacer which makes them +13 effectively! I then obviously had to decide on keeping my 215/40 up front or downsizing to a 205/40 which probably would have let me have maximum angle, but after lots of conversations I was told the 215 will drive much better, and I think it’s a more proper stagger coupled with the 235 I’m running in the rear. Then obviously comes my stubborn addiction to keeping stock body, which means I do have to run more camber than your traditional competitive setup. And coupled with the ride height it’s a huge balancing act, as you can see!! Also, I run Broadway Static coilovers that have a removable M3 endlink bracket and I removed that installing the kit in favor of the SLR control arm mounted links; however, the tire was actually hitting the sway bar itself, and considering I’m running 16k springs in front, I opted just to remove the sway bar, as I doubt it will do much more than the spring rate itself will do and I probably won’t even notice a difference. The wheel wells in front are indeed so small! I never realized this until I started playing around with this kit! Honestly I would love just to have a conversation with you and ask some questions! I’ve been on a deep dive with a few other aspects of the kit and I really am trying to use as much of its capabilities as possible while still having the style I love. I’d love to talk soon!! Thank you so much again!
@@griffengardner Right on man. Tech line will go straight to me since I am remote so the only one that will answer it. Either way, yeah it's a series of compromises to get the fitment right but still get as much as possible out of the kit. So far it looks like you are working through most of it well. And absolutely right on the stagger. I ran 235's and 245's out back with the 205's in the front and it was just a 325 with 3.23 lsd. All things considered I did run the car taller and was looking for ultimate performance and beat my fenders to snot just to have them out of the way. lol. I wont be doing that to my wagon. Anyways gimme a shout whenever you got some time.
Been so inspiring to see how far this car has come, been following along on instagram and it's been both informative and engaging. Amazing work Griffen.
Man that made smile!! Thank you so much, it’s been a journey and a battle at times but the first finish line in this car’s long process is in sight. (edit because I’m sleepy) I also am so glad to hear that my nerdy deep dives are entertaining to you! Thank you again for saying this and I’m so glad you’re here.
I have a slammed e36 drift car. I raised the fronts and put like 30mm if high offset. I left the rear slammed but raised the fronts to a functional but stylish height. It’s makes a difference
It’s 2little 2late by Haven, you would probably love a lot of his other stuff if you like this! soundcloud.com/hvvvn/2l8 I’d also check out “with me” by Haven & Glo, it’s in a similar vein
Always come back to this video to help with fitment! I had a question about how you said the quarter panel can move/warp while tapping the inside skin if you've already shaved the lip, is it very noticeable? Or was it just the inside skin warping and separating from the outside layer? About to start tapping out the inside skin a tiny bit more and just want any extra insight to help :)
I’ll actually touch on this in the next video for you! I did it in what I think is the cleanest way possible, I’ll walk through it! Trust me I was scared too but I think the look is worth it.
Love it, but I’d raise the front just a hair more I know being low is nice but you’ll ruin those fenders. Trust me from experience I like being low as well
I should be able to get away with a lot considering the extremely aggressive valving and 16k springs on these broadways but I know I very well may have to raise it. I’ll work my way up checking for rubbing but these coils have so little travel that you can really get away with a lot. If something happens it won’t be the end of the world as replacing the fenders is on my list and I’ll know the limits. They are both decently rotted and even though I’ve sanded them back and stopped it they could benefit from being replaced. But regardless if I have to raise it I will!
Hey man sorry it took so long for me to finally get back to you! The RP01s are 17x8 +38 in the front and 17x9 +38 in the rear. Right now I have a 25mm spacer in the front in addition to the track width added by the narrower control arm version of the SLR kit, the Super kit. I have a 12mm spacer in the rear. I have a 215/40/17 Accelera 651 on the front and a 235/40/17 Accelera 651 on the rear.

you should do a POV and drifting of both the cars.

How’d you mount your wing on the M3? Debating on putting one on my coupe but I’d hate to drill into the trunk

Random question, but what are those earbuds you use at the beginning with the coiled cord?
Hahaha those are Beats PowerBeats3! Just replaced them with the new AirPod Pros (:
You really got that dark style going with all that black and tech gear hahah looks nice
Yooo would you know where to get a hardtop for a convertible e36?

I'm sorry but bbs and sunflower alloy wheels r the only wheels in my opinion suit the e36 m3 🤔
Hey that’s not a bad look at all!! One day I want to do a set of BBS RS on the convertible, I agree with you it is a timeless and classic look.
What are your wheel specs? What ET are they at the front?
