Thanks.” And “Or you could just stare at a creeper for 27 seconds then die” Like, his dry humor paired with his awesome voice and infectious laugh and shrill squeaks of terror… top 27 hermit. But fr, drop everything and watch, and ill always be chuckling
Every time the snails evaded some new attempt to trap or stop them, it just reminded me of all your Hermitcraft game-developing VODs where you kept going "I can't leave this like that or else players(Etho) will take advantage of it". Looks like Grian and whoever helped him code all this got a good taste of how hard it is to balance game mechanics for such a varied playerbase.

To be fair he normally plays on a server where firetick is firmly set to off. Both to avoid this and make building with wood easier. So it can be easy to forget that fire is a problem when it normally isn't.

The favourite part about your towers is that it looks croocked on a diagonal (at the beginning of sesh at least). I don't think it is, but it looks like it to me and let's me relive all the "MY CROOCKED TOWER" joy. Still hands down my favourite part of the live series. Edit: Nvm, less tower now. What you should've tried is a staircase (like 3 blocks high), then a bridge to nowhere, but the middle of the bridge is two trapdoors (placed to create the largest hole between them possible), and you're at the end of the bridge. If the snail uses regular pathfinding it'd take the trapdoors as something it can walk on, but then it'd fall through them, and it won't fly (I assume) because it has a clear path to you: the stairs which it will take again to reach you. Because it looks like the snails fly when there's no path to you (a wall they can't get over, they're in a hole, you're somewhere high with no walkable path to you). All the snails went up the mountain on foot (whatever snails walk on) just fine, so I don't think it's a height difference thing.
Having seen other POVs before this one and at the beginning Tango and Stho are like "I bet there's gonna be a lot of deaths. Like three yellows, maybe seven deaths" and I'm over here like... 👀

The snails are cute. Discovery reaction was funny. The actions and sounds are fun. The only part I was disappointed about was the lack of recourse……could do “feed x and snail is calm for x amount of time”, or similar. Keeping Snail Snax on the hot bar, keeping enough on hand could be fun and funny, with death inevitable to a lesser degree, but there would be some satisfaction from being able to do SOMETHING. 🤷♀️ Hopelessness isn’t exactly fun.
The snails also remind me of the movie Duel. Steven Spielberg's first full length movie is about a car that is terrorized by a large truck. Whatever he does, the truck always reappears, waits for him, tries to hit him, ...
