There is a video called "[EN] FPS Limit for Multibox | EVE Online" which refers to third party software which allows you to set the limit of inactive clients even below 20 fps. I had issues running 9 accounts at 4k, so I set limited the fps on my active client at 50 and on inactive clients at 10. Unfortunately since the update to dx12, Eve seems to need more vram which became an issue for me. So I had to turn down the quality of the clients to medium. I don't have a solution for that Eve-o preview has a feature, which minimizes the not active clients, which is another option to reduce the load on the system significantly. But because Eve is minimized, the small preview window freezes. But this might still be a valid option for some people. Great video btw :) thx
Years ago there was a guy who multi-boxed, and boy did he ever, on 2 PC's actually. Now the significance of this is on one PC he had 100 ice miners, and on his second PC he had his anti-gank fleet. This was when PC's were like Pentium III's. His advice to me when I asked was run all clients at the smallest size and all on low, but the most important part was turn off the sound. The sound uses a lot of resources to run and makes the most difference. BTW, he didnt use any fancy programs to control each pilot, he did each one by hand, one at a time, and used the fleet controls built into the game. The change to ice belts made CCP lose close to 150 accounts from this one player.
My computer loves me long time when i run 5 clients in 4k with high settings and sound :) i can hear it moan. I run with 128 gig ram so that is not the issue, gfx card has 16 gig so not terrible.

4:03 when you multibox, why do you need graphic settings set so high? I know it is eye candy but putting it all to "best performance" mode and manually lowering two settings to "low" from "medium" is making your PC breathe better.

Sadly he passed away in an accident, I'll answer some of your questions They are all Omega accounts, which you can run at the same time. He has all these clients open at the same time. Multiboxing is what EVE players call when someone is playing multiple accounts/ character at the same time.

That framerate my work in NCP stations, but try putting all of those accounts in to an Athanor or Raitaru, and your vid and the client will crash and burn pretty quickly.
The framerate lock and using eve-o window mode is even more important in citidals now also I run 18 accounts now and have headroom for more gpu usage is at 30% for me and cpu is up to 50-55 %
@@surlyboomergaming2517 do be mindful if you undock them all rapidly or dock them rapidly you will run into issues with higher settings docking a single account into a keepstar can use up 20% cpu for a good 10-20 seconds on my pc
well, I cant reduce my VRAM load on GTX 1650TI 4gb from 350MB per client to 250MB per client...tried everything: potato mode, EVE-O-Preview, Rivatuner Statistics Server...12 of 16 clients working as intended, 4 of those 16 clients freeze out and do not react at all...and the FPS drops at 0 FPS at every single client, except the maximized one(from 0 to stable 30 and holds those)...giving me the impression the background feature doesn't work properly, already tried to reduce the FPS in backround via nVidia settings, setting FPS for background and maximized...didn't resolve anything...any ideas?
Lower your graphics settings a bit that should help lower resolutions and lower texture settings reduce vram usage also look into removing shaders and shadows completely

@@trumpsextratesticle8590 I asked around in my alliance and they mentioned running out of VRAM on 8GB versions with 20 accs...so in theory, 11 to 12GB should be sufficient due me being able to run 12 accs with 4gb with no software in potato mode.

As for hardware I'm planing to ditch Ryzen 5 4600HS with 6C12T and 40GB RAM for Intel Xeon E5-2687W V4 + 128GB RAM + RTX 2060 12GB (latter one is was thought of as being useless due 10-18% slower than a RTX 3060 8GB) all packed in HP Z440 tower...
What? How come your clients are using less than 1gb of ram??? Mine use 1.7gb each. I also have a 3080ti. Edit:Ahh got it, watched to the end of the video, you also use more than 1gb.

Ive been playing since 2003 with huge breaks after 2017, over the years I use to multi box over 14 accounts heavily in industry. Recently I tried getting back into multi boxing mining and quickly relaised how pointless it was. the money you make is garbage and nowhere near enough to be viable. I desubbed all but 2 just to mess about on. The constant running meme of EVE is dead has finally hit home with me. make it stupid in game price to plex and doubled out of game costs.. rather buy star citizen and experience that over letting CCP bleed my wallet.
Have you seen hateless's video on the mining yield on hulks? If you multibox 14 accounts you could pay for all 14 within a few hours of mining just a few days in a maxed out fleet with boosts. It's insane.

EVE is so much more fun with multiple characters because you can get stuff done so much quicker. I scan down a wormholes twice as fast running two characters than I would with just one so that I can then enjoy PVP, exploration, mining or whatever I want to do that night. It is a game built so that it's impossible for one character to be good at everything. So if you are like me and like a bit of everything and likes do do new things every day, there is literally no way that I could make that happen without having many alts. Even if I were to skill inject one guy into being a jack of all traits he would still be heavily limited by his location at any given time and the time it takes you to switch activity and set for another activity. Right now, I can have industry guys sitting ready in the indy station, ratting guys ready in the ratting station with the ship they need, trading guys in jita and other stuff. I highly recommend trying it out!

For me even the 20 monthly is questionable at best, since i dont have that much sp i feel like i cant do shit unless i wait 2 years to start actually playing the game anyway so having alts doesnt change anything cause the sp requirement is there anyway
@@frozby5973 I don’t pay any real money for my accounts. It’s all plexed through my trading alts and PI income. Well, the SP requirement goes down when you can specialize a character into training one area. For example. My trade alt only have 2 lvl 5 training implants in for charisma and memory. Cause I don’t need anything else for him. They also have all their attributes set for to be max in those two areas. So they train trading about 25% faster than a normal char.
I agree 100%. All the counterpoints have to do with making things easier as the game CURRENTLY stands. If singleboxing was the norm those 'tedious' things would have eventually been changed as Quality of Life updates. Ten years ago, when averaged out, it was 1.5 accounts per player. As of May 2022, the average is now 2.6. There's a lot less actual real players out in space. Unfortunately the cat is out of the bag, if CCP banned multi-accounts it would be a huge betrayal for all the people dumping so much $$$ into all those alts after all these years, even making sales specifically targeted to multi-accounts (Power of 2). And most likely kill the game. Yeah, not happening unless they make a separate server that's locked to 1 client per IP.

Might aswell play any other game since this one clearly doesnt want me to play it.

a freshly logged in and docked pilot will use less ram then one that is undocked and doing stuff

You can also skill farm the alts once they have their needed skills making them super easy to keep plexed

i hate EVE's multibox side. I wish EVE had some kind of skill-check thrown in it, just like skillchecks in Dead by Daylight (game)
EVE is so much more fun with multiple characters because you can get stuff done so much quicker.
