Just started playing this for the first time, and wanted a walkthrough or guide , so thanks for the video!
Awesome! Such a great game. Hope you enjoy it! Definitely take a look at the newer ones afterwards :D
So far I plan on it. I heard the earlier games were important to the story, and that the games get pretty complicated, So I wanted to start small. But the series looks great!
@@TheZombieNinjaPirate I think after you understood the principle it is not that bad. But be aware ... the first one is definitely the most unforgiving. In X2 you will get a lot you have to work hard for in this one just out of the box :D
Gods yes, I loved this game so much.....
I remember there is an early-game glitch, where the Xenon in the Sector 3-3, just south of Atreus Clouds, are initially ignoring you (and only the ones in this sector). You can sit idle on the sideline and loot all the cargo of the killed traders, fly out to Areus Clouds, Antigone Memorial or as far up as Ceo's Buckzoid and peddle the stuff off. You get rich very quick. But the moment you start talking to Ban Danna, the Xenon will attack you on-sight as all the others do.

@@GaryGammarid I only found out by random chance after about 5 years of playing that game back then, lol.
2015 I made a complet run of X:Beyond the Fontier and X-Tension. Didn't get much colour in my summer holidays.
Very nice :) This time X BtF did not take me that long fortunately. Lets see how long x2 will take :P

Love the fact that you can easily die in the tutorial!
Haha, yeah. The X-Series does not pull any punches :D It was quite harrowing when I first started playing. None of the games really tells you if you are able to do a quest. Or in the case of X, if you have enough resources or what the needed resources might be lol ... even the ballpark would be great sometimes :p

Well, in experimenting to improve things ... also changing the engine the games are built on ... can lead to some loss of mechanics that many ppl like. I still think for what we lost, we gained a lot more over the years :)

I got this at release and found it a bit hard to get into after this starting teladi conversation, but it's nice to see how it should be played.
I got it through a gaming magazine first. I think a year after release. Which luckily got some hints about some things. Still I found it quite hard as well at first. Until I invested about 16-24h of gameplay and finally realised what the game is and how it wants you to do things :D
I can definitely recommend X3 and X4 though. Much easier to get into and ofc a lot more polished now than the first one.
@GaryGammarid I've got x-2 and x-3 the threat (not reunion yet) my jam was Freespace 2, loved it. Fully recommend the source code project. It's a 25 year old game engine that still stands tall next to ED and SC.
I did play freespace long ago. I remember it was good, but not much more :D
You mean X2 - The Threat and X3: Reunion you have? Since the other X3 are Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude.@@DobbsyLondon
