Deadliest Journeys - Tajikistan - Cold Fever

- Tajikistan is the poorest country in Central Asia. To travel through this region made up of 93% of mountains, you have to take the Pamir Highway, the second highest highway in the world. A mythical road built by the Soviets to open up the Pamir region and subject it to the rule of the Empire. A daring journey suspended between earth and sky on what the Tajiks call the “roof of the world”. But since the Russians left in 1991, the road has not been maintained. The Pamir Highway is the route of all dangers: Rock falls, landslides, fords ... 900 kilometers on the side of the ravine. Mechanics and people are put to the test, especially in winter when extreme temperatures freeze the engines. Gheyrat, the hero of this adventure, must improvise with the means at hand to deliver his goods and above all stay alive.
Приветствие таджикскому народу из Сирии 🇸🇾🇹🇯
Have you ever won an award for these documentaries? It is up there with the best ever produced. It should be mandatory study material for students world wide in order to foster a world view, understanding, tolerance and acceptance of others. Without that we do not have a chance to save society from the downward spiral we seem to be on.
This channel didn't produce these documentaries, they are just hosting them here.
It should not be mandatory, because nobody should be forced to watch things they are not interested in, or don't agree with.
As for ''tolerance and acceptance'', that should also not be forced on anyone. There are, for example, certain religions I do not accept, and never will, and that is my personal choice, which I have every right to make. It's not okay to take my personal choices away.
Each person in the world has the right to decide what is acceptable, and tolerable to them. People do not have to accept religions, lifestyles, ideas, etc., that they do not think are acceptable.
@@Julia-nl3gq We are forced to accept the trans view of the world. We are forced to listen to gender issues at school. Women are forced to compete against men who "identify" as women? The trans view is being forced down our throats - whether we like it or not. They even cause laws to be set that are forced on everyone. Where is the normal person's choice in this?
@@Julia-nl3gq 💯 This modern idea of total acceptance of everything is a cancer that's destroying the world.
@@Julia-nl3gq I'm forced to accept christian stuff every single day.
Neverovatno gde ljudi žive. Hvala vam za ovaj video.
My hat is certainly off to the resilience of these people
Whenever I feel a little down (humans do that everywhere) I just watch one of these videos, and I am good for quite a long time. I would have to go out of my way to have just half as hard of a life as these people have every day.
Тяжëлая жизнь когда нет еды, нет денег.
I was about to write exactly the same thing. And it reminds me to always stay humble.
Great documentary. That tough old Russian truck comes with a 100 year guarantee.
I wish that I could sit everyone down that complains how tough they have it here in the USA and make them watch these films. Maybe they would be a little more grateful, which is something I try to teach my son every day .we are promised nothing cherish what you have ,it could be gone tomorrow.
Exact.
Never miss any post of your documentary ,the voice translation is amazing.
I love this intro so iconic....best documentary and narrator 🙏✝️💯
@39:25 "Okay, thanks. Bye." Best narrator ever.
A good family and the love of others makes so much difference. Good luck to them.
Most underrated films
They should gain Millions of views around the globe.
Life is so hard to the Tajiks. But they bear it with a smile.Courage and fortitude seems to be in their character.
Dear Deadliest Journeys... I'm so addicted to your show I need to be sent to rehab 🤣👍 From Guam, USA 🇺🇸

thank you for the video , time and effort put into it. I love deadliest journeys. Best wishes from South Africa
Whose roads will end up just as bad eventually. Our country is fast becoming a real 3rd world African country. In fact a few (like Botswana) has overtaken South Africa as a decent place to live.
15 year old documentary right ? But still entertaining
Excellent program, thank you.
Lovely world and beautiful people ♥️
Excellent script writing, was a joy to listen.

Every episode makes me incredibly thankful for my cushy life in the United States.
I guess your white lol 😂
Am from Scotland and I thought it hard working on the sea but that doesn't come close to what these people go through respect to them all of us in the UK an US an EU really need to wake up and stop complaining we have such a easy like compare to others

@@Sion_Revan this is what truly shines in these episodes and soo many millions still don't understand even after watching. What a shame.

Interesting/informative/entertaining. Fun viewing the mule hearders delivering supplies. 😉
Lot of love from Pakistan.
Beautiful Documentary.
I admire these people greatly. Other than the modern engines and trucks and clothing, it is as if they are living the way their ancestors did 1,000 years ago.

You won't be able to ignite the diesel fuel with a match at such low temperature. You literally can put out a cigarette in a bucket of diesel.
You can put out a cigarette in gasoline also only a spark will ignite.
Good show about Tajikistan I've got a question for you guys why is all the background music from Afghanistan there's nothing wrong with that I just want to know
Good job

God has blessed the USA to the extreme compared to most other countries.
But being a rebellious people don't see that lasting. By the way I'm American
That Kamaz isn't 6WD like the narrator says. These documentaries are full of holes
These tractors start like this, with a small starter engine which is used instead of the electrical starter. In their conditions it is much more reliable.

One weighs the risks. No pain no gain
I love these documentaries and much respect for the journalist. the one thing that drives me crazy though, why does he do an english voice over whenever someone is speaking? native language with english subtitles would make these videos much better
I disagree. Reading subtitles is very annoying to have to do. I wouldn't even watch these if I had to sit here and read subtitles. Plus there is no advantage to them, as nobody needs to hear people speaking a langauge they can't understand at all.
Reading subtitles is just a huge, huge pain.
It's also very hard on the eyes.
I already have bad eye strain from having to be on the computer so much of the day, as do many other people, the last thing we need is to have to read on the computer more.
Also, I like to do something else while these videos on are - eating supper, or doing my mending/sewing, for example. I couldn't do that if I had to read the entire time.
A voiceover is so much better. You don't strain your eyes reading, and you can do other things at the same time.
Also, having to read subtitles means you miss so much of the documentary. You can't pay attention to the details of the video, because you're too busy reading. You miss a lot. Plus it's incredibly annoying to have to always be reading the subtitles, then looking back up at the video to try to see all the details of it....
...I like to look at everything, all the details: the colours in the women's headscraves, the patterns in them, the deails of their houses, what's up on their house walls, for example, all the little details. I also like to really study people's faces.
With subtitles, I can't stand them, because I have to focus on them, instead of on seeing everything. I never even feel like I really truly saw a documentary when I have to read subtitles, because I know I've missed so many interesting, beautiful visual details.
Its 15 year ago documentary right ?

After living overseas for 10 years, I always tell my relatives in the U.S. to appreciate their blessings and stop bitching and moaning about First world problems, 90% of the world lives in poverty, and even the "poorest" American has more material wealth than the majority of the world, yet they complain the most. I'll never complain and always give back to those suffering far worse overseas.
The world 🌎 needs more people like you. This realisation is what makes you rich. So congratulations on being rich.
@@msanatkumar6434 Thanks, and yes, the world is unfortunately controlled by Greed, with people who are selfish and not concerned about others. I wish it were different.
If people won't try to make the life better, they will all quickly skid into living in a sh@thole. The good life was not given to American ancestors, they have built it by a lot of sweat and blood.
@@mknone40 Amerikkkans DIDN'T "build anything; they stole from my Native American ancestry, and enslaved my African ancestry to FORCE them to build this country while they STOLE everything, that's what white Amerikkka did.
People who have never seen it can't comprehend... there should be several "mandatory " experiences that everyone should have to be considered an adult. Living in or working in a 3rd world country (or skid row, for that matter) is one
sad thing is taht only in harsh enviroment peaople are kind and helpful to another+
Heating up the fuel tank with a gas burner. What could go wrong?
It's diesel

It's amazing how hard these peoples lives are, yet they keep a positive attitude. Not that the US is a utopia but, hell, we bitch and moan if we lose WiFi or electricity for a couple of hours.
How do you dilute diesel with water?
Just add water into diesel.

It's somehow ridiculous how in Germany everything is overregulated to make things safer and more reliable while in other countries they heat their fuel with open fire.
Its Diesel that shit won't light on fire that easily, wouldn't recommend heating up gasoline tho..
Mag sein, dass man in einem Flammenmeer untergeht
I'm from Brazil.
At 37:32 the person making the documentary seems not to be aware diesel can't be lit. It's not dangerous at all! You can literally put out cigarettes in a bucket of diesel without a problem
