@@Penigale US is staunchly opposed to China because China has become an economic, military and political competitor, threatening USs global influence. The Chinese are well aware of this, and will act accordingly. I expect Blinken was sent to threaten, rather than attempt to persuade, given it would be illogical for the Chinese to help US combat Russia.
