    In my opinion this is the best synth Moog has released in many many years. Easily tops anything in the Sub series and in the end will sit up there right next to the MiniMoog. I remember 5-6 years ago thinking Moog was done with any new ideas. Then the Mother-32, DFAM, and Grandmother came along and Moog is back in peak form.

    This was a very clear and easy tutorial. It should be the first or one of the first videos that a new user watches. It would have saved me a lot of time and trouble trying to figure out how to make my first sequence. Thanks!

    Thank you for doing these videos. These were really helpful with learning the Subsequent, I definitely appreciate them happening for the GM and I am sure others will as well.

    You have a talent for explaining this. I'm waiting on the Grandmother (dark) I just ordered to be delivered, and I've been devouring tour/tutorial videos here on UA-cam for the past 2 hours. As someone who is new to synthesis, most of them are completely leaving me in the dust due to heavy use of jargon and theory. This was the first video I've found which really explained (and demonstrated) a functionality in a way that was really useful and enlightening for me. Great post, thanks!

    Wow. I had no idea it had this functionality. I was pretty much done with the idea of semi-modular stuff as I loathe the patching, but this give a lot of power to the synth for arps and sequences without even being patched. Thanks!

      Valid Core you mean the arpeggiator or am I missing something and you can reverse the sequencer as well?

    • @validcore
      @validcore 5 років тому +1

      Haut Strange. The sequencer plays forward, forward/reverse, or random. The only thing usable in a song out of those is forward. I would use reverse all the time if available.

      The sync information can be easily found online on numerous websites. Maybe even in the manuals of the synth.

    Hi! Anyone have any ideas why my Grandmother isn't arpeggiating when I follow the steps to hold the certain notes that I wan to arpeggiate? I click play and hold, then press the notes I want to arpeggiate, in the order I want them arpeggiated then it ends up only repeating a single note and not the other notes I wanted?

    Whenever I press the hold button to latch the arpeggiator, I press the keys I want but as soon as I release my fingers from the keys only the first note of the sequence repeats rather then the whole sequence. Any idea why this is happening?

    • @gregoryamato858
      @gregoryamato858 5 років тому

      Unfortunately, no. You'll need to rely on your brain or your iPhone camera to record any automation. Same with patches. I find it a very fair trade off in order to maintain the analogacity of the old dame.

    I have a really weird problem with my grandmother....
    Right out of the box everything worked just fine, the arpeggiator, sequencer, etc. But for some odd reason, suddenly this section doesn't seem to work anymore....
    When I enter the Arp mode and press down some keys I hear....nothing.....
    Even the red LED doesn't seem to respond if I turn up the BPM, it just constantly lights red.
    Is my synth broken???

    • @AudiotecnaColombia

      If the second note is different from the first, indeed, it would be a legato. But if it is the same note, then it's a tie

  • @AndyLowe-net
    @AndyLowe-net 4 роки тому

    • @anurajdadhich7079
      @anurajdadhich7079 4 роки тому +1

      'Ties' means the note will glide from first to the second, like legato. If both notes are the same, then the note will simply sustain. I hope this makes it clear
