HAHAHAHAHa. This is one crazy story. Even though Joe is a crazy obsessed killer, Beck and and her friends were really inconsequential to me. Dude you did a amazing job recapping this
I think people keep forgeting that Joe is an unreliable narrator. And a PUBLIC JERKER! What He described about Beck in his head was wrong and totally contradicts Beck's inner narrative, the way She thinks, eventhough She made mistakes, She was a pretty selfless person.
I started this series last year and only made it a few episodes in until i gave up out of... idk. boredom? disinterest. But i did wonder a little how it played out, if he got caught or if he got the girl. Thus, I Love your recap! As strange as it sounds, i'm basically watching the second half of the season via your awesome Cliffs Notes. Lol. Thx!!!
I did the same thing I started watching and got super bored, I always told myself I’d come back but never did until season 2 dropped and spoilers were everywhere, luckily the only thing spoiled for me at the time was “joes a dad?!” Eh it’s big news but doesn’t give much information of what went down so I finally took the time and I gotta agree with Kenny B, season 2 is way better
I think people are just bored with the tried and true setups for TV shows. Look at all the shows that have been super popular in the last decade. None fit the old formula. But now that they're exhausting exotic setting they're playing around with different ways of narration which is cool. Though Dexter did the serial killer protagonist first it still followed a pretty predictable formula. TLDR both producers and viewers are getting more experimental and that's not a bad thing
I think this is how people have always been. Think back to the days of fighting pits and gladiators, public executions, and even more modern things like boxing and UFC matches. We may have more advanced technology and "more sophisticated" societal ideologies, but at the end of the day we're still the same human beings
she’s a normal girl not everyone is perfect if she was perfect ppl would be complaining that she’s perfect. she’s finding herself and is in her early to mid 20s and is confused w herself like every person her age.
@@DerEchteBabo she has made mistakes, like any other human being has. Beck was not perfect, just like every other struggling college student in their early 20s navigating relationships and adult life. Saying she’s a terrible person is 100% a reach. TV characters that don’t meet the standard characterization for a perfect victim are automatically chalked up to being undeserving of sympathy when at the end of that day, we are ALL human beings. i really enjoyed beck’s role. She’s a normal girl, and i think that’s what makes the story. she isn’t a robot, she makes mistakes. she makes misjudgments, she jumps to conclusions, and she’s emotional. she had absolutely no idea who she truly is without the validation of those around her. she’s a person. so many people claiming that she’s not special and boring just miss the point entirely in my opinion. the overly blown up “special saturated perfect person” irritates me. it’s not real at all. it makes the story feel artificial and not balanced as well as too obvious.
@@missmarie8089 she is just entitled and acting like living in a giant apartment in NYC while getting financial support from your rich dad is soo hard while ruining her relationship because she was bored and was so used to be the center of attention, that she first dumps him to then having an affair with him just for more attention. Saying she's just a normal girl is assuming that everyone is this awful but they are not

Benji was right about Beck, but she didn’t deserve to be killed. Beck would’ve continued the cycle of toxicity in her life and Joe should’ve left her alone.
Joe and Benji are the manifestation of the cycle of toxicity in Beck’s life (as well as her friends), and other girls after her when it pertains to Joe. Joe & Benji are the epitome of toxicity. They all need therapy, expect for Joe, he should be in prison
dude you really do a wonderful job with these stories usually after one of your videos I'd look for the series, I can't say I'll be doing that with this one that guy is sick
This just sounds like a typical NY love story in the beautiful misogynistic fantasy world of what appears to be undersexed friendzoned writers who show us what they think about in a very public way.
Beck was a speeding train heading towards some kind of early exit off the mortal coil with how she treats everything. Joe is a monster yes. But Beck was no virgin princess either.
I personally feel like directly comparing someone who was entitled, annoying and unfaithful to someone who is a serial stalker, murderer and sex offender makes you a weird person
Not him calling her peaches instead of peach
So annoying
It's a thing from the books. Joe would be disappointed in you for not knowing that.

Just binge watched season 1😁
Amazing recap! I had watched season 1 when it first came out. Now season 3 is out so I wanted to get back into it and needed a refresher.
“Peaches” 💀

What a sick society we've become if this and Squid Game are top on Netflix views 😭
thats a great point!
Why does that make society sick?
Maybe it's speaks to our inner primal selves.
