I only really hate bore guy and tree boss. My only issue with Mesmer is that his moves have alot of fx which makes it really hard to see whats going on. Add that with how dark the room is and the camera and its just insanely difficult for me to see whats going on
They do have a lot of FX, it reminds me a bit of the Abyss Watchers from DS3. I felt like he was a bit too tough for me when I first found him so I went exploring to take on other bosses and plan to come back later. Instead I'm wiping to a half slime half horse now :P.
I'm very happy with the dlc overall but I will say you fight a familiar figure near/at the end and that fight was absurd spent 6 hours straight on it and could only win by using mimic tear , the pike with the new greatest guard shield and the turtle talismans to literally never stop blocking poking while shield was up , worst part was the boss does not give you enough time to even summon my spirit ash as it dashes directly on top the door you enter leading to a roll spam with bad camera at the start of every fight , all this at maxed out shadow blessings.
I think its because the scadutree fragments are hidden away. From some of them such as the ones located in the ruins area require you to kill a certain enemy. I dont think the average casual is going to look stuff like that up. Inturn causing then self to be underleveled vs bosses and enemy's
It definitely feels like a lot of people are going in at blessing 0 and expecting being l200 to save them. But based on some of the gameplay I've seen where people took low level chars into the DLC you're basically a L1 without your blessing haha.
People are running into the Tree Sentinel/Margit trap again and are treating the game like a linear game instead of an open world game. Get your ass kicked and can't even imagine beating a boss? Leave it be, explore, find some Scadutree Fragments, increase your power level via those and then kick it's ass.
Yeah that's what I've done. I DID bash my head against Rellana & the hippo but that's because I got both to fairly low hp in my early attempts. So I knew I could do it I just had to get good and actually complete the fight. Plus in the case of Rellana I really enjoyed the fight. But Lion Dancer for example, I first fought at like 1-2 blessing and he felt way too hard so I came back later.
I think people spending time away from the game is a contributing factor as well. I'm hopping between Farum Azula and the DLC atm, because that's where I progressed and let me tell you the crucible knight in Farum Azula is every bit as lethal as the knights in the DLC.
It's typical Souls game situation. Yes, the game is hard, yes it is meant to be....It's what they are known for. However, they give you the means to make it easier by EXPLORING. Most of the people complaining have gone into the DLC expecting to stomp on things because that's what they did at the end of the base game. In that, they just go balls deep and run directly to bosses and don't explore...then they get dick punched and complain. It also goes to say, Elden Ring brought in a LOT of new players to the genre, it was more inviting, easier to get into. Now those same people are seeing what FromSoftware DLCs are like. I am not saying the game is easy, because it's not, but I am not having that hard of a time because I am taking the time to fully explore everything. Everytime we get a new Souls game. people complain. If you don't like hard games or prefer games that are easy and hold you wittle hands, then Souls games are not for you, but to say the game is "bad" or giving bad reviews because you don't like it for being hard, is kind of childish.
It also feels like a lot of people are refusing to use summons/spirit ash. Which yes, makes it a lot harder but that's a choice you can't opt into extra difficulty then complain "this is too hard wtf".
@@Tenkiei Yes, 100% agree. They were added to the game for a reason, use them. I will never understand the people thinking it's a cardinal sin to use any sort of 'help" in a Souls game. I am pretty sure the bosses and enemies for that matter were designed with the expectation of people using them.

The camera is definitely not great on some of the fights so far. I'll see if that fight changes my overall opinion when I get to the end of the DLC.

Maybe it's just because I like exploring, but so far I've found a solid # of fragments passively.
What armor are you wearing? That cloak looks awesome!
Fire Knight Armor, it's dropped by the followers of Messmer who use fire arts.
"the arena is too small for the camera" no, you're in the corner. :P
It’s comes down to people NOT reading or listening to the NPC dialogue.

Its a little bit of both though isnt it? Some of these bosses are the hardest they've ever made. Nothing crazy about that
The people complaining about balance are probably just rushing the story and not reading or exploring.
