It's really cool to see people growing their own food. It would be great if more people acquired this habit. In addition to improving our health by consuming healthier foods, we contribute to preserving our planet by reducing the use of pesticides. Congratulations on sharing your knowledge and experience with us.
My garden wagon was very expensive but it has been my most valuable gardening tool for hauling forest soil to my yard because I had no topsoil here. That was a punch in the gut when I realized it last year in spring. I didn`t know what I could do except plant peas and beans until I could find an easy spot nearby to find soil which turned out to be a dried up creekbed with deep muddy sand bars about 130 feet from my garden. But then I had to not only move it but turn it into rich soil by mixing in leaf mold, leaves, rotting wood, cardboard and adding all my grass clippings to my garden. Things were very much improved this year and are still improving. I already have some nice fruit trees too using the same methods. I have giant figs on my Brown Turkey trees that will be ripening in a few days and next year my 4 Celeste Fig trees and 4 Dwarf Mulberry trees will fruit.
I'm growing sweet potatoes for the 1st time this year. I'm about a 1-2 weeks from harvesting. I grew some in a raised bed and some in containers. My guess is that the raised bed is going to do better.
@@sandybottomhomestead The turd tater gave me a good morning laugh. Hey I think next week is going to be good surf as long as the wind doesn't screw it up.

Your son is so adorable and he looks just like you. I wish my harvest was huge like yours
Thank you 😊 we don't really do anything to ours they just grow wild. We used to trim the vines a bit but not trimming has helped alot
Good to see the Medium Guns! Man he has grown!!
He is gonna be a giant if he grows into his feet!
When I talk about #gardenjoy, this is what I'm describing. Saving to watch (again) later. Great job guys💚.
David is hooked now. Mission accomplished
Nice sweet potato harvest Ben! Glad you’re happy with your results this year. :)
Thank you
lucky for you i'm not getting any harvest for potatoes this year its always rainy out
We had that issue one year and we ended up tarping them. It worked out pretty good for heavy rains

I hope you get a lot. I have never grown them in containers but I know people that have done well with them.
Try some Orleans next year. You’ll be well satisfied.
We will look into them
Holy cow that's a huge sweet tater!
It's too big but it was fun pulling it up

Yeah I hope so I'm going every day I can. It's going to get cold soon enough and my wetsuit shrunk 🤣
