At the moment that the play button was pressed, I did not know what to expect. What a wonderful collection of musicians. Aside from the wonderful composition, I am in awe of how many musicians, along with their instruments, Jaga Jazzist were able to fit on a postage stamp-sized stage!
fired up jazz, like a V12 untamed. Pumping beats and soloing frenzies smoking hard on his one. Broken guitar chords stomp into distortion when the heat rises and Im impressed by the harmonious distortion and brass towards the final section. Exciting new jazz
I'm so god damn glad they're finally coming to America. Got my ticket as soon as I heard. Same venue Tortoise always plays when they come here. See you in Minneapolis.
the horn sections that come in at 1:00 are so melancholy and reminiscent of my childhood listening to cool jazz at night, my parents played jazz all the time in the house and those few notes that were played at 1:00 onward felt like sinking and rising at the same time
My friend once let me borrow two Jaga CDs, claiming that they truly are the best band. I was skeptical at first, but after listening to it I could no longer deny the truth. Now, four years later, they still remain my biggest musical inspiration and their music continues to thrill me all the time. They should come to Sweden!
I think, iI feel taht it´s a thing make frome the brain to the heart. I t sounds like Steve Reich+The Mars Volta+Miles Davis+Sakamoto+Gabriel Ananda+Four Tet... Really gorgeous, so good !>
If you think they have nothing to do with jazz you're mistaken. Just go back to the 70s and 80s and listen to some of the great jazz fusion bands like Return to Forever, Weather Report, and the Mahavishnu Orchestra...even some Spyro Gyra. The influences are obvious.
but seriously how did like 8 of the members know when to switch into Another Day absolutely simultaiously?? the trumpet player obscurely dropped off his note i feel like..
Seriously, Jaga Jazzist is unbelievable underrated and i just wish that more people Knew about them, because they are such a good band!
They will be our best kept secret. Only those who earned their sonic blessings get the pleasure
Art does not have nationality.
I mean real art, not commercial art!!

The great thing about J.J is that they have their album side and their live side. Live they take great album songs to a whole new level! excellent

IGPX FTW!
nice symphonic pop / easy listening, nothing to do with jazz.
Must be sent to outer space; on board of some Voyager X; as a very good music primer for alien races to groove to.
I hate comments about people being proud like that. I'm a Norwegian too...
They’re sooooo fucking good omg
Mathias Eick!!!!!

Do yourself a favor and listen to Tortoise if you like Jaga Jazzist.
