    Bader was indeed one of the great leaders. He was the right man at the right time, raising the moral of 242 Sqn and training them into an excellent fighting unit and he also mentored a number of outstanding decorated pilots, many who would become famous leaders leaders - Johnnie Johnson, Stan Turner, Willy McKnight, etc.
