I cannot get enough of this song, It's so hard-hitting. Touches on some sensitive topics, and I just love how sincere Brother Ali sounds. He's giving a message, and he doesn't care how controversial it is. I love how the woman appears to be pregnant, but she lifts up her shirt to reveal explosives, and the 'US Army' being portrayed by people of Arabic descent. This song speaks a thousand words, and the beat goes so well with it. "Even if you ain’t dying you a traumatized survivor!"

  • @Um-Hussayn
    @Um-Hussayn 12 років тому +5

Brother Ali has a unique perspective that he has been blessed to share with the rest of us in this nation. As an albino he is in some ways "BEYOND" race. Whites can't throw the "black card" and I suspect he sees a lot we all would like to pretend isn't happening. His work TESTIFIES to the mistakes we as a society are making. The Crimes of our society, as it relates to justifying violence against peoples based on appearance. So to Br. Ali, SHUKRAN. To the critics, perhaps you need to wake up.

to those offended by the prayer on the American flag, you're the fanatic ones, and your religion is patriotism, which makes you blind and deaf. Its time for you to listen to what others have to say, and im not talking internet comments, im talking real life.
and to the Christians saying that Islam is a threat, go back learning about Christianity, only this time not from actual Christians.
Finally, to the atheists who think are better than everyone else, chill. Religion is just a personal choice, and should not affect others. If you wonder, im a canadian agnostic, you can do whatever you want with my flag, especially if its to send a strong message of acceptance.

I don't believe most Muslims are innocent though. When asked, even quote unquote 'Moderate Muslims' still want Shariah installed in the Western countries they infiltrate. If you even have the slightest idea of what Shariah entails, you'd be opposed to it as well. But not Muslims. Nope.
So no. If Muslims want people to believe they have nothing in common with ISIS, they should cast aside their 'faith'.

      princeoz17
"Sharia in the majority of muslim countries is used to decide family affairs, economics, financial transactions, dietary laws, etc. and may not always honored by the court of law..
That isn't even relevant. You're dodging what I said. Most Muslims want shariah, and shariah is incompatible with Western values, always have been, always will be. Shariah entails so much more than what you're letting on though, you're sugarcoating it so much. Shariah silences free speech. Don't let all of those +1's go to your head in a thread dominated by Muslims. They don't make you any less wrong. I believe you're practicing Taqiya as well. Deceiver.
"like cutting off someones hand for stealing for example. Maybe saudi arabia still does shit like that but regionally speaking,"
But it's so much more than just that. From the big things down to the small, the West rejects it. I would even loathe the sound of a Muezzin in the morning, waking me up.
"Saudi is extreme and their government is a monarchy (illegally according to islam) and they're a piece of shit."
      Well put.
"Wherever muslims decide to live, they have to adopt the laws of the land according to islamic law, but you probably didn't know that."
While they're the minority (population-wise) maybe. But when they reach the majority, they install their method of jurisprudence. I'm not buying it. When Muslims are just 'adopting the laws of the land', they're just biding their time until they can take over. End of discussion on that topic.
"Don't get it twisted. Sharia is not coming to the states."
But if most Muslims had it their way, it would. And there is definitely a push to try and do so, Obama seems to be importing them as fast as he possibly can. Even though the majority of Americans are opposed to it. Syrians. Never mind the fact that all of these MIddle Eastern countries, rich with oil wealth wouldn't lift a finger to help these supposed 'refugees', nor would any of these rich Eastern countries.
"It maybe referred to in households to determine family affairs, marriage, etc."
"And no ISIS has nothing to do with Islam, in fact ISIS has probably killed more muslims this year than any western occupying force."
How is ISIS not Islamic? It's right there in the name, ISLAMIC state.
"These terrorist are funding and trained by western governments, just like good ol' Osama bin laden was."
They weren't funded to become global terrorist organizations though. They were funded for a specific purpose, a purpose they didn't really fulfill.
"Educate yourself, learn your history and politics of the region before you speak of some fictional story you're being fed by the media today.'
I should be saying this to you, you arrogant fuckbag. Listen to you talk down to me, my fucking god you fucking snob. Get over yourself.
"I don't believe most muslims are innocent though" You're a joke, there are over 1.6billion muslims today. Do the math buddy, then make your preconceived judgment on a faith that is roughly 1/4 of the worlds population.
But even in so called 'success story' Muslim states, still a very large segment of the population of Malaysia for example, still believes in stoning people to death for adultery. Forty some percent of British Muslims agree with ISIS. If you don't understand and acknowledge there are HUGE problems CURRENTLY within the religion of Islam, you're in denial. There are at least, several civil wars going on currently within the religion of Islam, apparently you're completely oblivious. If I started rattling off statistics about some of the less savory Islamic countries, you'd be fucking cringing. Don't even try and sit here and paint it as if every member of the Ummah is so saintly. I'm not buying it.
Islam currently has a HUGE problem of not cleaning its dirty laundry. And by that I mean not rooting out and imprisoning the LUNATICS within their ranks. That never happens. You rarely hear of Islamic gov'ts raiding terrorist organizations and shutting them down on their own volition. It never happens unless there's some outside pressure or benefits will be revoked if they don't.
I could go on all day. You are in over your head, asshole.

yuptydoo Get out of here! He started off on MTV? Wow! It's crazy what they do to real artists. I think about it all the time because I just can't wrap my head around it. It's like they are blatantly saying "We want you to listen to stupid empty music because we want you to be stupid and empty."
What year did Brother Ali start?

He was raised by the black community in Wisconsin and Minnesota when he wasn't well accepted by the white community. This is where he was also exposed to, and converted to, mainstream Islam. As he said in his song Daylight, "I was taught life and manhood by black men, So I'm a product of that understanding. And a small part of me feels like I am them. Does that make me a liar? maybe. but I don't want the white folks that praise me to think they can claim me"

The ignorance in the statements below me baffle me. People on both sides of the argument have legitimate points and concerns. But, the true point i think Ali is trying to get across if you notice is, war is prevalent now. On foreign soil and on our own. We are at war with each other in our own nation, as well as over seas. We have to fix our issues in our country, before we should try to aid others in that same endeavor. Before passing judgement on another, take a look at yourself. You might just learn something.

Brother Ali was interviewed inside both these books: *HOW TO RAP* & *HOW TO RAP 2*, he describes his best techniques in them.
Here is one of his insights from those books -
"I think that a lot of MCs are cheating themselves by not tapping
into this great legacy of music that we have, that we’re
a part of. If you feel a kinship to what came before in hiphop
or feel like that’s where we’re getting what we’re doing
now, and feel a connection to it, then it’s kind of a platform
you stand on, and it strengthens you as an artist."
