this car is actually getting a turbo kit this season, we are just figuring out which one to go with now
Love it!!! Thinking of doing a k24 swap in mine. But only issue is in California we have stringent emissions standards where a race header has been more of a hassle then a benefit. How much power could one possibly make with the type S manifold/cat/down pipe? I currently have that on my Ep3 as I replaced the header I had on there and it seems to be considerably bigger than the stock manifold. Me not being a tuner would like your input as a tuner! Love the channel man! Keep it coming!
Swapping in a K24 will definitely get you a noticeable increase in power even with the stock exhaust manifold. As for how much. It’s way to hard to say unfortunately. You’ll notice a huge improvement in down low TQ. But your top end power will really be hurt with a restrictive exhaust.
Would you mind sharing the VTC map for this setup. Would be interesting to see if the RBC manifold is truly asking for more cam advance as most have stated when running this setup.
oldsklteg it’s a stock VTC gear.
It was 20 below vtec. Then 25 in vtec. Basically maxed. Tapered downto like 20 at redline. I think it could have benefited from more VTC angle.

I believe its a completely stock K20A2 transmission - Unfortunately i dont know what he ran for the clutch

Hey bro I got a 02 ep3 with k24a2 swap. I have this problem driving the car after the swap, once it got up to 3k rpms it bogs out , like a hiccup. My boy said I need a kpro and it would solve my problem. He said the car would drive smoothly with the kpro
What do you think ??
@@Stunna83 Yes you need KPRO, there isn't much you can do without it. KPRO will be able to provide for the different engine

how did you get the headers to clear the front sway?
It didnt clear - The front swap bar was removed - However - Check out the CRV front sway bar - You can run a CRV front sway bar instead and it'll clear because it fits differently

My setup: k24a3 engine, k20z4 intake cam with 50VTC (pinned on 45°), RBC manifold, 70mm TB, 550cc grams injectors, 3.5" injen with velocity stack, 1320 big tube header with megaphone to 3", 3" custom exhaust, k20z4 flywheel, k20a2 tranny.
Today my tuner did correlation in fuel, timing, set VTEC on 3600rpm (curves show us the point) and did measurement...
235hp (202whp) and 260nm (192ft/lbs). I think that is little bit weird, power is too small for this setup..
Of course it is not final numbers we will know them at Monday, but still thinking that is too small.. Can you give me some advice what I have to focus on? Thank you in advance for your answer.
I would like to help - But honestly there are just so many variables its just not something i can really do if i dont have the car at my shop - The one thing i can say is, if you have pinned the VTC at one specific angle so that it is not variable anymore. You will always have a compromise of either lower then potential Midrange TQ or Peak HP - Generally speaking - Higher VTC is needed for midrange TQ and lower VTC is needed for peak HP - That being said there are always exceptions
for the amount of money it cost probably not worth it i might be wrong motor around 900 kpro 650 plus 300 for the ecu rbc 300 plus injects an other small things an time at the dyno 60 hp over stock is it worth it ?? an if you have all that in california it won't pass smog
It makes for a better base. The stock ep3 motor is the worst K series,its more for economy than performance.
Get that 50 degree vtc cam gear. Make another 20whp.
Not Sure some - cams and a 50° VTC are in the very near future for this car.

How come this k24 ran 213 but your rsx k24 ran 236hp?
Not every engine is the same and not all bolt on parts are equal. My K24 is the 2006+ which is the best version of the K24
Yea with the right bolt ons it would pick up another 15 hp. The exhaust, vtc, and hot air intake is killing it. An intake pointed down away from the heat would benefit greatly. What injectors and duty cycle were you at?
Hey - stock block with k20 oil pump?
Yes it’s a stock block and oil pump. He is only revving it to about7500 rpm you will see it on the dyno chart.
