Fully agree with the criticism for the roommates actual romance, I also found the last third to be less enjoyable. I personally really love the ideas and characters separately so much though and consider Rosie Danan to be an auto read romance author! Josh is still one of my all time favorite romance MMC’s, which was only solidified in the second book, I just adore a slut with a heart of gold lmao. I will say it’s definitely a bit of a pattern in her books that the romances themselves feel a bit underdeveloped but I always love her concepts and characters
Also picked up the guest list off your recommendation and also thought it was a 5 star mystery! I find it so hard to find modern mystery/ thriller authors I can give more than a 3 so I’m SO happy I picked it up!
Good to know it's a pattern of Donan's romances to be under developed, but I did enjoy the themes of the book! I'm tempted to pick up the 2nd book.
Oh it makes me happy that you also loved The Guest List!! 😁 did you listen to the audiobook as well?
I agree, I don't know what it is about mystery and thrillers lately, but 5 stars are so rare lately 🤷♀️
@@KimReadsandReviews i was hesitant to pick it up for a while cause I didn’t know the plot but the second I heard intimacy experiment was porn star x rabbi I needed to know how that would be. It’s definitely a “better” book than the first one, it talks a lot about where sex fits into Judaism without sacrificing the fun of a romance. And again I liked the characters themselves and together but felt the romance was a bit under baked compared to the plot
Yeah, the audiobook was so good for the guest list! I’ll have to try her others on audio. I know they’re not quite as well liked but maybe I’ll be different lol
Ohh I definitely am leaning towards picking it up!
And yes, I've heard similar things about Lucey Foley's other books, but we'll develop our own opinion 😊
I hate when they give away too much in the synopsis! I have had my eye on Alyssa Cole for a while but never seem to actually pick one up.
Yess, it was most of the book unfortunately 😕 but it was an enjoyable and unique read nonetheless!
