- This was probably a once in a lifetime scene at GLAMIS. Four sides x sides pile it in and stack up! As the gentlemen states in the video, he's been coming to Glamis for 50 years and has never seen anything like this! Watch the video and see if you agree! Anybody viewing this that does not have Dune experience or know much about dunning or communications, please watch the video here for an example: • Pitch and Roll with us...

Went to Glamis once. Never went back. This video perfectly encapsulates why.
Sorry to hear that, it really is a great time when used properly. It can be as safe as you want to make it.
@@DougsX5 It's not safe when the majority of people out there are drunk and driving vehicles they have no business operating.
@@jt8251 I don't know where you were hanging out, I fortunately have not encountered Drunk drivers, however, I have seen plenty of drunk passengers. I for one don't drink and drive. From what you have apparently witnessed, I would have to agree with you and stay away also.
Never complain about any wreck you walk away from.
You can say that again!
Fully agree with you, never know when those witches eyes will get you. Have seen many posts about this incident but your video put it in a different perspective, Well done!!
Thanks a bunch for your comment. When flags disappear you assume they rolled down the back side of the dune, not snagged by a mammoth witches 👁️!
So glad to hear that no one was injured that could have been much worse. Great commentary on what happened!
As were we, thank you for the props, comment and watching!
GREAT on scene footage and full breakdown reporting! Keep the videos coming!
Appreciated the compliments, keep those coming as well😁
"I shut the camera off because I didn't want to see anything gory" RESPECT.
You totally get it!
Thank you for posting this !!
Of course, thank you for watching it!
I was thinking "radios!" and then you mentioned it. Thanks for sharing.
Yes sir, sharing stuff like this may help prevent it from happening to others in the future.
I’ve only been going to glamis for about 4 years now, but I’ve never seen a single windy day create so many hazards as the Thursday wind event did. I’m sure it happens, but man there were so many witches eyes.
The best time to ride, yet the most dangerous is after the wind has reset the dunes. Appreciate you checking out the channel.
Witch eyes are created all over after every wind event. Turbulence created behind the dunes removes sand from the lower back side of the dunes.
@@sesquivel729 and makes it extremely dangerous driving conditions so extra caution is required!
When I seen the first accident, I remembered passing it that day. Had no idea what happened on top. You can see our group passing thru when you’re talking about the other separate accident at the end. Glad everyone was ok.
Right On, looks like you all were all having an enjoyable day! Thanks for checking out the video!
Good to see everyone was ok fisicly
That is for sure!
Nice footage of this incident! Car to car wont do much good if your following too close like these guys were. I've been duning out there for 20 years with no coms, just common sense and I have had no issues.
I ran a decade or so without coms and then I got them and started to hear all the warnings coming across the radio and thought how did I survive the past decade with out them lol, must have been common sense.
ALWAYS have a spotter at the top of a hill while doing jumps & stuff
Good advice I hope everyone listens to.
Gotta love it when they say don’t give an opinion and then they give an opinion. 🤷♂️😂
Oh man I think you may have got me there. I did say I would never pass judgment. Especially when I wasn't there. Judgments are opinions presented on facts with no room for discussion. However, I was there although I didn't see it happen. When you start expressing opinions as statements of facts with no room for the possibility that there's another side to that coin, you have stepped into the realm of being judgmental. Really - appreciate you watching and your comment. Thanks for posting!
Witches eye or no witches eye, that was caused by inexperience and/or following way too close. Glad I'm not duning with that group
Appreciate your opinion and your post - Thanks for watching.
Very true. Thats why we stopped going on weekends because we always see this and its alwas a omg ive never seen this in 30 years...
Agreed!
Couldn’t have said it better myself. Be careful who you ride with and don’t trust any passersby’s
@@jakevawdrey9691 Well stated, appreciate your post and thanks for watching!
Ultimately no one got hurt. God bless. Stay safe out there in beautiful Glamis 🤙🏼🙏🏼✝️🇺🇲
Absolutely - Thank you for posting!
@@DougsX5 Yes Sir. We Will collaborate and have good times someday soon 🤙🏼
This is exactly WHY I love the dunes it is family of one ☝🏻 one ☝🏻 is ALL

Shit happens. Everyone gets a turn. Thanks for sharing.
Anyone that has been in off-road sports for a while knows how true your statement is! Thanks for watching!
Word on the street is they wadded themselves up three more times on the way back to camp...
😱 Your kidding right?
Always be in communications with your group for sure with radios ., also what may help is stagger the line to the left or right of the lead vehicle never follow in a single line.
Sounds like great advice, thanks for posting!
That certainly looked horrific! A miracle no one was hurt, and that they all made I back to their camps.
Yes, when I first saw it, I got a bad pit in my stomach and then found out no injuries. Unbelievable...
I got your pg or whatever you call it from your daughter. I met her at TOI. She's my PT at TOI. I had knee replacement surgery last March on my right knee and then my left knee just last week. She puts me through the paces. She's a good kid.
@@markantoniotti4857 Yes she is we are very proud of her! Thank you for checking out our channel.
@@DougsX5 she said you had some merch. I'm always looking for cool shirts and stuff.
whoah, hate to see stuff like this but glad everyone is ok, ruff day at dunning
Yeah, it was definitely scary at first glance. Then we breathed a sigh of relief when we found out everyone was okay.
What is that half bar mount thing you've got on the a-pillar? looks like a gopro mount, but who makes that clamp that's on the roll cage?
It is the best GoPro Mount I have used thus far - her is the link - amzn.to/3upXiby
Moral of the story don’t follow too close
Nailed it!
Those flags do alot of good !
Not so much after a 10+ ft drop.
That's why you transition at an angle, not up and over.
I believe they actually did come in at an angle, surprised not one in the group has commented.
Doug x5
I was part of the group down the hill
can am x3 rolled 3 times two rims popped off the beads that’s about it
But we had a few people on the hill so no one would ride up there but the leader of the other group didn’t notice them till it was too late then his group followed straight into the witches eye
Oh man, sorry to hear that. Was everyone in the can am ok? Thanks for sharing your information on the accident.
@@DougsX5 yes the dad was driving and two teenagers kids with him they were good we were riding on top of hill we hit hard left to avoid the witches eye can am hit that left too hard and rolled 3 times
@@frankpadilla4165 Glad they were all ok, thanks for sharing!
Thing about the dunes your clipping along at a good pace .The bottom drops right out under you. Main thing no one got hurt. Every body keeps the cops and the blemish or reason to close the dunes down.
Isn't that the truth! And in most cases its not if, it's when.
Thank God no one was hurt.
Such a true statement!
I nosedived into a witches eye yesterday at superstition. If it weren’t for my comms, it could’ve been the same scenario or worse.
I swear, in-flight I was pushing the red button yelling witches eye, thankfully everybody diverted.
Hope you came out of it ok!
My wrist, neck and back is a little sore, aside from that, I should be good in a few days. I’ve been riding for 57 years and believe me, it can happen to anyone.
@@rickpickering4137 Absolutely! Glad you're going to be OKAY 👍
Wow that was gnarly
Well stated!
"just like the Blue Angels..." =)
First thing that came to my mind and just like them - unbelievable!
Never out drive your stopping distance!
True statement!
Maverick pro r?? Must really be new, can am’s newest release 😂
Insurance is going to get tired of these claims.
It sucks but it's unfortunate events like this that make going out to the desert/dunes an adventure.
I couldn't agree with you more! By the way, I have the same Harbor Freight press you have - Nice video of CV removal.
@@DougsX5 Thanks!
Agree that communications is important, but once you are in the middle of the pileup, you are more interested in seeing if all your parts are still connected. Vehicles are only seconds apart. Glad all were safe - that's a testament to the safety gear and vehicle designs!
@@rayss3323 Nice post - Thank you for watching.
This is the weirdest accident I've seen in Glamis 😅
Once in a lifetime I think 🤔
YES! Car to car 2-way radio system like what we offer at Rugged Radios would have helped radio to the other cars.
Mine has saved me multiple times and prevented and engine failure when the car behind told me to shut it down do to a blown radiator hose! Thank you for posting!
My group uses senas I love em and it makes the whole ride runner being able to talk to your group
What is the range on those?
@@DougsX5 The more you have connected, the more range you get if everyone in a line had them it will relay down the line.
@@theingobeck4772 Thanks, the rugged while more expensive does have miles of range. However any coms is better than nothing.
15 knots. 17.261 mph, approx. Looked to be more like18 or 19 knots.
LMAO 🤣 Thanks for watching!
I’m guessing it’s possible to learn a pattern of these dunes or no?
Yes and no, for the most part, the big ones stay the same. However, the winds throughout the off season can really change the face and the little dunes. And also create the deadly witches eyes. Thank you for your interest and watching!
Crazy lol
I know, right!
4 in 1. That's new.
Like I stated in the description - once in a lifetime stack up. We will have to turn your comment into a new saying - " check out that 4 in 1" 😂. Thanks for watching!

@@kavik526town2 I Can't argue with that. Point taken.
How many of those side-by-side drivers have been drinking?
Good question in which I don't have an answer.
Looks like they zigged when they shoulda zagged
😂😂😂
Knots!!! Yes sir😂😂
Unfortunately my main career is in Aviation so I mis-speak sometimes... 😆
You timed that one right ....
You just never know....
Following too close and fast simple as that no other explanation needed. Wonder if any 12oz fool was involved? see one standing there watching. glad that no one was injured
Just like the Thunderbirds...
Nothing wrong with us boomers!
You got that right 👍
And I bet not one of those are fully paid for.😂
Your probably right and insurance companies are going to get tired of these types of claims.
Following too close!
It would appear...👍
Little embarrassing to say the least🤣🤣
I could only imagine....
Wtf
Be cateful
My first thought also!
No one knows the term "knots per hr".
It's a term used in sailing.
Why not just say 17 mph.
And this was caused by carelessness. Following too close and not paying enough attention to the surroundings...when our sandcar group sees these sxs coming towards us, we get the hell out of their way. Live and learn.
Because when you're in the dunes you're usually flying and it's also a term used in aviation😜. Appreciate your post and you watching!
@@DougsX5
Flying huh????
Yeah, "flying" into a witches 👁️.... 😂
oh come on that was all staged I recognize a couple of those as actors
😂 Their insurance companies wish it was.
Buncha boomers out there, haha.

@@dunerinaz Dude got so triggered he went to my channel. hahaha RIP
Personally, I disagree with your sentiment that you shouldn't pass judgement. This is dangerous behavior that you see all the time from newer people and you should pass judgement. They never should have crested a blind hill at that speed. Its would be one thing if they had just bumped each other from the blindness. But to actually end up on top of each other speed was involved. They clearly were outdriving their sight distance.
I can't argue with you, I wasn't there when it happened. Unfortunately, I have been in certain situations that have lead me to give benefit of doubt when I don't have all the facts or I'm not there to witness it personally. The Airforce Thunderbirds are some of the best pilots in the world and they all followed the leader to their deaths, does that make them rookie pilots? I appreciate and respect your comment - thank you for posting it.
I respect where your coming from. However,
1. The blue angels are professionals stuntman performing stunts with a known level of risk.
2. They are in a isolated environment.
3. My child won't be sitting at the bottom of a dune in the path of their recklessness.
4. Their crash won't effect my future ability to recreate on public lands.
I personally think this incident could be used to highlight just some of the danger of certain actions like riding past you sight line. Again, totally respect your view to not call them out. I just think there is good to be had from the opposite view. Nice video though and I love your sand car.
@@lifelinefabllc Thank you for your post, please understand that if you are taking your children to the dunes, you're putting them at risk. This is why 5 point harnesses are involved. It's a dangerous sport, the thrill of duning is the speed. The only real rules in the dunes are don't drink and drive and don't go faster than 15 mph within 50 ft of a camp sight or parked/standing vehicle/person. All the rest are common sense which not everyone has. All accidents are considered to be no fault unless one of those two rules is broken. And unfortunately you cannot control the people that are outside of your vehicle. Unfortunately there are reckless people all over the dunes that just love to rip by campsites at 50 plus miles an hour. My children also grew up in the dunes, so I know what your feeling.
@@lifelinefabllc and by the way, the rolled Can-Am at the bottom of the hill was a separate accident and that had a father with his two kids strapped in the back. It rolled three times down the hill on its own due to driver error as well. The same witches eye caused them to crash as he swerved to miss it. So it's not just these four guys. Watch out for everyone.
Not going to like… just too slow for me old dad
No problem, not sure I understand the rest of your comment.

Absolutely nothing! That's what I started on and was a blast!
That looks like they were to close to each other
Definitely would appear that way. Thanks for watching!
I’ll pass judgement since you won’t. You don’t speed into any area in the dunes you can’t see, or haven’t pre-scouted. Excessive speed into unknown territory caused this. People speeding and following too close.
Right on Drew, appreciate and respect your point 👉 of view. Thank you 👍.
