I agree that VirtManager is the best VM solution.

Very glad to hear it. I am looking more into VMs now, so you may see some other virt manager videos, though I may end up using proxmox for it. Time will tell.

If I may ask, what made it stand out? Why did this one click for you as opposed to others?

@@Vashinator7 Your video was quite straight to the point while also not having concepts too difficult to grasp. It felt very basic. What every beginner needs.

I once switched to KVM full time, however I found I didn't have the same flexibility as Virtualbox. Great video for KVM setup though!!

thanks for the vidoe , found it very usefull , Do you know if you can use spare USB storage or other SSD in your pc ?

I ran Linux Mint on an SSD in a USB hard drive enclosure for like a month when I first started using Linux. So yes, totally possible, but you do need to understand what you're doing a bit more to make it work like you expect.
You can also have Linux spread over multiple hard drives. Some people will put their / and their /home on different hard drives to give home more space.
There are actually some distros that are designed to be run for a USB stick like Puppy Linux. I would be hesitant about running anything serious on a USB stick though just due to performance issues and how many writes you would likely be making.

Ah, yes, you can use a spare SSD as a virt manager drive.
Chris Titus talked about this a few months ago: ua-cam.com/video/6KqqNsnkDlQ/v-deo.html
I personally haven't had the setup to try this, though I may try this if I end up needing Windows this year for any other projects. But using a separate hard drive is the best way to handle things!
I have heard there are ways to share a games partition between Windows and Linux, but I haven't looked into that too far.
