Thank you! FINALLY someone who actually does have fine hair (like mine), instead of someone with masses of thick hair calling it fine, and actually explaining it properly 💖💖
Ok I’m on attempt 376 😂 but I won’t give up! I have thin hair identical to yours but I think it’s a bit too short be that is my first issue. Should not have cut it! Also my hair ties are too loose? Where do you buy your satin scrunchies? Mine are all a bit too loose!!! Thanks so much for your awesome videos!!!
This is the BEST tutorial for this method of a messy bun. I’ve seen people do it so quickly in other videos that I can’t understand what they’re doing. This is so clear! Can’t wait to try it and learn!
Quite possibly the most well spoken explanation of how to do anything beauty related I’ve heard on the internet by a non-pro…ever! Bravo!! I also love that you have (fine) hair like mine…it’s easy to do hairstyles when you have loads of hair, so glad you don’t xoxo…THANK YOU
@@diyhairschool4445I’ll amend it by saying….someone who doesn’t talk “down” to persons who aren’t a pro (you know, us eternal Tom Boys (40 years later)) who never cared about our hair till late in life, LOL. Honestly, I enjoyed this tutorial SO much…and wore your bun today with no issues!
Omfg. I have been trying to do this for two years. I have a wedding tomorrow and finally achieved the first bun. Now I have approx 12 hours to achieve muscle memory. Wish me luck. Thank you soooo much Update. I can’t even believe I can do this. Done it quite a few times and I will alway do it this way cause it’s so much more secure on my head and not even as tight.
I love that I found your channel. My hair is exactly like yours. Fine, straight hair is a real challenge to maintain & style. I guess each hair type has its own challenges. I am a lot older than you, but I definitely find a lot of helpful stuff in the few videos I have watched so far. Thank you!
THANK YOU! I have watched countless videos for the last few months on how to do this exact bun and I just could not figure it out... until now. Your explanations are perfect and so helpful!!
Wow 😳 I finally see a tutorial with someone who has soft fine hair like mine & after severe attempts I was successful. Thanks so much & I look forward to seeing more of your content.❤❤
Thanks so much fine haired friend! It took more times than I care to count to get this (and it’s still a work in progress) BUT showing how from the back helped tremendously!
Thank you!! You explained it so well! This is the first video on a messy bun that gave clear enough directions that I could actually follow and the bonus is that you have fine hair too!! Thank you!
This is awesome, thanks! I wanted to add that you can use a hair scrunchie that matches your own to give more volume (not too big) Also found that adding a bun pin gave more security.
I have been trying to do it for years and years and have watched so many videos and still couldn’t do it. I keep trying and trying and when I use a bear claw clip it seems to work better for me, however it would be easier and nice to do it with a scrunchie or a small hair tie and I’m 53 years old and your never too old to learn!! Thank you for making this video!!
I’m getting really close to getting it down. I need a satin scrunchy I think. The clincher for me was grabbing the base at the end before finishing. Thanks so much!😊
Yep, get a satin scrunchie, i find it’s key, it makes all the difference. If you mess up your hair won’t suffer, besides that, the scrunchie gives you that added bit of volume underneath, just like this lady explained.
Me too! Others made me feel inadequate that I couldn't do it right away. She really made this understandable and if I don't get it right away to keep practicing.
Thank you soooo much. You make this so much easier than any other I’ve watched 🤩 My hair is very fine and much thinner as I’m getting old! This is just the perfect info for me. I’ve subscribed and already watched several videos ! Again, thank you thank you !
That's how I was able to finally learn how to Frenchbraid my hair. I knew what to do but I was thinking about it too much and doing it too slow. When I just closed my eyes and did it, it worked. I'll be trying this cuz I like messy quick buns. 😊
My hair texture is *EXACTLY* like yours but down to my butt. Doing a messy bun without the dreaded donut is next to impossible for me. I haven't tried scrunchies but will give it a go. Thank you for the well explained tutorial!!!
My hair is to my bum too and this still didn’t work at all, sadly. I tried over and over and it just falls straight out because it’s so heavy and slippery. Tried with a satin scrunchy and that was the worst because of how slippery the fabric was, and even a velvet one with more grip didn’t work. Even wrapping a scrunchie around 3 times doesn’t fully secure my bun. This was my last hope 😢
I was finally able to get it and the front looks great, but I can't get it to look good in the back. I would love to see what the back of this one should look like.
I love watching your videos! I finally got the technique down. My hair is 5" longer but i just use a couple pins to keep the loops from flopping about. To anyone struggling, just do it a bit faster like she advises and get comfy with pulling and manipulating the hair. You'll get it!!!❤❤❤
It definitely takes practice, but your explanation is so clear! I am still getting the hang of it. I love that it only takes a few seconds, and that there are no bobby pins involved. I hate bobby pins, so uncomfortable and unreliable.
Thank you I tried this and it worked, my hair has just grown back after cancer not long enough to do anything with so I tried this and it work like a treat ❤️
Awesome tutorial. I have very thin hair and have attempted messy buns on multiple occasions always being easily defeated. After multiple attempts of trying your method i almost gave up, but I let your video finish playing and took your advice to stop thinking about it and there was success. Thank you!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I would be grateful if you would do with long thin hair, I have such a hard time 😢 my hair gets really tangled in the hair tie, but it's a beautiful messy bun 😊 ty for taking the time to give step by step instructions.
THANK YOU!!! I just found your video, watched it and subscribed. I will be practicing this bun tomorrow and I saved the video, so I can rewatch it. I can’t wait to see more styles and tips. ❤️
Thank you...I have been trying this but still don't have it but I will. You are the first I have seen at explaining it and breaking it down in detail. Thank You!!! I just tried this and the trickiest part was getting my brain to put the second hand facing forward....You're right...gotta keep trying and watching at the same time and all of a sudden **BOOM** ya got it!! It's amazing to me that with your fine and layered hair that you're able to achieve such pretty looks...Thin hair can be a huge struggle and like the other person said... most videos I come across the people may have fine hair, but they have TONS of it...mine is fine and thin...my dad always called it "Spider Web Hair" ....I'm in my 50's now, but as a kid it was devastating...Mom always kept my hair short b/c she didn't know what to do with it... now neither do I LOL... I'm so happy that I've found your channel!! Thank you for sharing your secrets!!
Yay, I’m glad to see this technique on a little shorter hair, I’m getting ready for a hair trim and some renewed layers. I 1st learned this type of twist on Utube called the TikTok viral messy bun, as usual a lady with lots of hair but, it’s the only way I can master a messy bun on my fine silver hair. She used an elastic, but I choose the satin scrunchie like this lady seemingly for the same reasons. One, it adds a bit of volume, and more importantly it’s so much safer for my fragile hair. Once you learn the flip it’s quite easy, altho it took me a while to really get it right…just keep at it bcuz it works! For a little variety I found once you’ve got the pony in your hand, and the scrunchies still on your hand, use the other hand and you can twist the hair a few times and then pull the scrunchie over and do the flip/twist. Just a few twists will remain, but you can get a bit more definition in your finished result. Thank you for taking the time to walk thru the steps slowly!
I tried so hard to get this technique several months ago when my hair was longer but just couldn't get the hang of it. When it grows out again, I think this will be very helpful! Thank you so much for the careful explanation and attention to all the little details.
I tried but it came out different !! :). However, it turned out great!! Thank you for the awesome tips!! I have fine hair too but very, dry long! I liked your advice about “not over thinking it “!! You’ve got to keep in the back of your mind….this is all about a messy bun!! 🪝🎉
I’m gonna try again after watching this. I ended up buying fake messy buns on Amazon that actually match my hair. But your tutorial looks like something I can do
My brain has not been able to figure out how to do the swoop and plop until you!! I have issues with hand-eye coordination sometimes, a multiple sclerosis thing. You broke it down and a lightbulb went off haha. TYSM
Wow, thank you! Now I see where I've been going wrong all these years. I wasn't bringing that first grab up to the top of my head, I was swooping it around the side, if that makes sense. Can't wait to try this tomorrow, I'm in bed right now.
Update: I figured out when she is *scooping* it's with the back of her hand to get it out of the way so she can use that same way to grab the base of the pony tail your other hand is using. That's the part I wasn't understanding because it's hard to see. I can't do this. I'm doing everything she is and it just looks weird or falls out
Omg!!! I’m so awful at doing these cute messy buns. I finally got a bun. Not exactly like yours but my hair is thick with a lot of volume and I have the layers. At least I accomplished a bun. I did have to put my hair up in a ponytail then follow what you did. I had to try quiet a few times also.
I FINALLY GOT IT YOUR MY SAVIOR! ive been trying for months!! Also ive founf that for my hair, the silk ish texture for a scrunchie isnt good for my hair cayse its more slippery. Exactly! Every x Iook up fine hair tutorials it’s Mainly women w thicker hair, def not fine!
Fine is different than thin. My roommate as really soft fine hair but a ton of it making it thick. Rather than thick or thin coarse hair.
I have fine hair as well
Oh my God yes!!! They all wear extentions or have a big amount of hair

After about 400 tries, I got it. Thank you for breaking it down so well! FINALLY I can wear a messy bun in my fine, slippery hair.
I'm glad you finally got it!

Thank you for fully explaining how to do this messy bun!!
