NBC must have put one of their interns in charge of producing the sound in this video. I’m sure it sounded much better in the stadium. Rumor has it that if you take an audio feed off the band’s mixer board that it sounds much better than hanging a couple of microphones outside the press box window.
A huge thanks to Chicago and the Notre Dame band. I am a long time fan of Chicago. Love their music. My son Dante got to play with Chicago!!! That is fricken huge. But I will admit it sounded much better in the stadium. The concert they performed before the game was fantastic.
@@detroitrockscity Chicago started in 1967. So high school students then would have been born in 1949-52 and would now be 67-70. So yeah, most likely grandparents of these band kids who are 18-22.
This audio is so bad, I couldn't even watch it. Clearly, whoever mixed it put practically nothing for the band mix and way too much of the stadium mics. If I were Chi management, I'd pull this. It makes the band look awful.

Was at the game and it indeed sounded much better in person!
That is a fantastic observation. The local cable access channel has better audio than this.
Thank you for writing what I was just about to write. Leave it to NBC; I guess they're new at broadcasting.
I was there too. Sounded much better in person.
Amen, brother! My sentiments exactly. This audio is horrible.
We were there. It was awesome.
ND and Chicago. Midwest perfection.

ND has a beautiful campus❣️
The Notre Dames bands parents were in high school when Chicago started👍
Grandparents
More like grandparents.
@@moaski chicago started in 1964, what am I missing with "grand parents" My math tells me the years are going backwards

As good as it was to see this, I couldn't handle the out of sync production :(
NBC needs to do better

This was not produced by NBC. NBC were doing their half-time show.
The sound is terrible!
Dont see the drums miced... are they really playing?
You're kidding me right? This is not only beyond awful and embarrassing but it's pre-recorded.
Nah, not pre-recorded. Chicago sounds exactly the same every time. Just the sound was picked up by two mics
ND production sucks. How dare disrespect Chicago with that crap audio.
