I really like the dynamic between Michelle and Richard, even though she was freaking out she was still empathetic and it was really cute when he was worried about her as well.
I mop my floors once a week. I do make my bed, run the dishwasher when it’s full and sweep daily. I clean the shower and tub right after using them. I do laundry when I fill the hamper up.
🤣 You done good girl! 🤗❤️ I'm proud of you too! (Sidenote: Isn't it amazing how looking at the gross homes make you suddenly very anxious & intolerant of even just your half filled kitchen garbage? bin? And how your suddenly willing to get rid of that clothing item hanging in your closet you never wear but keep "just incase"? Lol.
I don’t understand how these clean freaks touch their faces with their cleaning gloves! I’ve seen it over and over. It boggles my mind! And the mop and the vacuum...do they use them on the floors too? I’m grossed out. I’m not OCD but I do have separate sponges for the toilet, tub, sink, and floor. 😂

Richard made me cry. the way you could see the sadness in his eyes when he showed that women his bathroom broke my heart. I felt it on a deep level, because I'm dealing with that exact feeling everyday. so glad he's gotten better!
I have OCD and it’s important that people realise that OCD doesn’t only cover obsessive cleaning. It can cover pretty much anything. I knew someone who had an OCD compulsion regarding her coathangers and how they had to be hung up in a specific way that only made sense to her. My OCD revolves around tapping things (considered ritualistic behaviour) and the negative reprocussions that pop into my head regarding it (magical thinking). Please, if you’re just a clean person and enjoy tidiness, do not say “omg I’m soooo OCD!”. OCD is not a word that should be used as a descriptive word just to reference cleanliness. OCD ruined my childhood to a large extent, a cloud of guilt followed me around no despite that fact that I wasn’t an evil person.
I have OCD. I inherited it from my mother. My husbands mother never clean unless company was coming over so he's very messy and I follow him around like a puppy cleaning up after him. I bitch at him constantly. I don't clean 7 or 8hrs a day but I clean everyday and vacuum and dust 2 to 3 times a week. I am a organize freak. All my closets and drawers are Immaculate. Things on living room tables and dresser and night stands and shelves have to be sitting a certain way or I just go crazy. I go to friends house and find myself rearranging their things on their shelves and tables...lol they love me and just let me get on with it. My clothes are arranged in my closet by what they are. All like items are together. It drives my kids and husband crazy. My kids are married but one and all live on their own. My youngest is like me I'm afraid. My oldest son and his wife have 3 cats and the cat hair in their house drives me around the bend. I guess being a hoarder is to far one way and OCD is far the other way, but a choice of the two I will take OCD Everytime. I also tend to face things on the shelves in the grocery store...lol😉 my food pantry is all organized by boxed items, can goods and bags items and then I break it down even further by what the item is within boxed, can, and bag items. Lol I can't help it. I just go insane if it's not perfection. I said to my brother just the other day, I guess I'm to much like mom and he said, no u are mom! Lol
interestingly hoarding is considered a compulsive disorder as well, so being ‘messy’ (to put it nicely) is just as OCD as being clean is. people just don’t realise it because of the heavy connotation toward only cleanliness being OCD.
everyone thinks they are the only ones with OCD to make themselves feel special. Just focus on being a better person and don't worry about what other ppl say or do.
You can’t be a professional cleaner if your going to judge your clients, you won’t be asked back, they have a mental illness. They don’t want a scolding. This is the worst possible job for real OCD sufferers. They can’t be comforting or objective, or get clean enough after spending a day in filth.
Im a professional graded cleaner. Rule number one; the cleaner is the silent worker. Rule number two; go in, do the job, don't speak your opinions till you are away from the client, and it stays private, we do not judge our clients else they won't recommend us. Final rule; DO NOT MIX PRODUCTS UP, ITS HAZARDOUS. We also have a laugh, it's how we get through difficult jobs that nobody else will do. We just don't behave the way these people do, so please don't think all pros judge and procrastinate. Nobody is perfect, and we are pleased to help and always enjoy the finished product and the happiness that we bring to our clients, who, by the way, find it difficult and shameful to admit a lot of the time......
The way Michelle was so supportive and comforting despite this being hard for her is such a breath of fresh air, I’ve seen the majority of these cleaners absolutely shame the clients and talk with such disgust that it made me incredibly sad. Can’t help someone if you have no empathy.
That was one extremely satisfying episode. I don't have OCD, I'm not a germophobe, but I do insist on keeping my apartment clean and shining. Living alone (with a cat) makes that an easy thing to do, particularly with routines in place, but it doesn't take me hours to accomplish. I do feel that the young man with depression is going to find himself feeling much better if he keeps things clean and tidy. As someone who's had depression all her life, one thing I've noticed is that fewer things feel worse than the total lack of control that depression causes. Keeping your environment in good shape is one way to take control back.
Miriam...you DO have OCD...you just won't acknowledge it. When cleaning becomes a priority over everything else in your life, it's not merely an insistence that things be "clean and sparkly", you have crossed the threshold to the world of OCD.
@@joannathesinger770 No, I do NOT have OCD. I clean once a week and tidy messes whenever I make them. This leaves me plenty of time for other daily activities. Plus, I derive satisfaction from the results, not anxiety from not devoting hours to constantly scrubbing and cleaning. That's the dividing line.
It's helpful when your cat matches the upholstery and having a short hair cat. When you have 4 cats, 2 with long fur it's an uphill battle, vacuuming and mopping.
After my father passed away obviously I was very down, I looked after the house until it was sold, after that I had to spend time staying with friends who lived in clutter and mess and that made me worse, if you live in a mess your head is a mess, once you keep on top of things you can sit down and relax and think straight, it's a very simple process really.
Cleaning is an acquired taste. Having a satisfactory appreciation for a nice environment for him will probably help. Then he can make a start on decor. (The yellow bathroom must go. That can't be pleasing to him, no matter how clean. He should probably just do it white, as a wild guess.) His childhood cat, and his current cat, are purrrfectly beautiful. He needs another. A Bombay/black. if he gets atop his cleanin' he could have another. And Christopher -- that gray/peach alternating tile pattern; that is hideous. The tile needs re-doing. I think this was why he tried to cover it up. I think the feng-shui calculator would never sum indicators up to THAT. Gray, only, maybe. IDK. But definitely not gray-and-salmon. I don't think coral pink should ever be used for decor.
After studying psychology for years I no longer believe that a person can be totally a lazy. Our mind does what it can do best. I hope whoever goes through my comment acknowledges the more the weird, angry, over the top a person is, the deeper the trauma. There is always a history to why a person is the way he is.
I have a serious issue with clutter, germs and grime myself, but people using things like bleach and chemical laden products with pets near them terrifies me. I used to work as a veterinary nurse and I think people underestimate how dangerous these products can be for dogs, cats, birds and fish. Clean thoroughly by all means, but please do your research about what you can safely use around aninimals.
It's unhealthy to use extremely harsh chemicals and have an extremely dirty house for anybody. So it's probably best to find less harsh alternatives for cleaning products. But I guess if someone a hoarder and they have a lot of cleaning products laying around that thyr don't want to out to waste. Then maybe a non-chemical but not too messy room for it would be ideal. Also about the nasty pets thing, that's ur opinion but ppl would think that's a bit rude considering that it's a life.
Bless Richards sweet little heart. I just want to hug him...and clean his home. He's so freaking adorable. I hope he has an amazing rest of his life and finds a woman to be good to him and help him.
I suffer with OCD but I make it my life's MISSION to NOT make other people SUFFER FROM MY OCD! I have helped friends get themselves tidied up, done domestic cleaning for people who are unable or unwilling to do it for themselves. And I've NEVER judged others for their lack of personal cleanliness! it's a very PERSONAL thing. I enjoy cleaning and if I can help out, what a joy and pleasure that is
Hopefully this video is now visible for all our UK viewers. We were hit with an illegitimate copyright claim at the last minute but it looks like that's now been resolved. Enjoy!
Watching TV shows like “OCD cleaners, Hoarders, and How clean is your house” changed my life and upgrade to a new level. Whenever I start to become lazy, lose myself, becoming messy and started hoarding again, I open up UA-cam to watch and be inspired again. I no longer want to go back becoming a dirty hoarder.
I think it's great that there are people who keep their houses clean and are willing to help others, but they do need to respect other people's rights and needs. When Richard cleaned his son's room perhaps the son would rather have the figurines on his desk not where Richard put them. The team have great intentions just remember we are individuals with our own choices because I too will go into clean for others but it's their space. In reality we are looking at to types of disorders
I have a parent with ocd and let me tell you 👀 a lot of the time I wont be allowed to clean. They can't just give me a job and walk away, they have to stand there and critique or they have to go over it after im done. Like I want to help, but they literally get angry if it's not up to their standards. My parent has literally insulted me to my face for forgetting to buy trash bags at the grocery store. At a certain point you just give up on helping them and you get tired of the constant criticism. I think the kids will be fine in the end, like I was a slob for bit in college but eventually I got tired of it and cleaned up, but thankfully I'm not obsessive about it. like sometimes your parents will be your example of how NOT to live and thats fine, you can still love eachother and have a good relationship. I feel bad about the trophy thing too :( My parent doesn't mind that stuff but they tries to tell me how to dress still lol. The cleaning is a point of contention though, I try to help but they just insult me and get heated when I don't meet their standards. It happens over and over and I just give up sometimes :(
@@kamilareeder1493 that's a tough way to live. Sorry it was so difficult for you and am very happy you have come out with a great attitude. All the best for your future
"This place now feels like home and not like a prison anymore" THIS!!!! Even when you finally slowly fixed your depression... the apartment is still the same... and then you are just overwhelmed...
If I tried that with the dog i used to have (RIP Foxy) I would have either had a dog so traumatized she would need therapy or meds, or I would have came close to getting bit....That is not a normal way to treat an animal. If you feel that strong a need to do that either set aside daily time to brush your dog (they will love the attention once they get used to it, and its a great bonding activity). Or if you cant do that, just dont have a pet. Animals dont need to live by humans standards.
One of my dogs doesn't mind and in fact enjoys the motorized brush attachment on her coat. My other dog hides under the bed the moment I start the vacuum.
I have a fluffy cat and I got this brush attachment for the vacuum and he LOVES it in the summertime lol. He'll meow until I do it, now he wants to be vacuumed before he bathes himself 😭😂 so spoiled. But he doesn't get hairballs and there's less cat fluff around the house
Its mad 2time a day. Im77 havent got the energy anymore once perhaps twice a week thats it. Sometimes i think there proud of the fact they have ocd.@@miriambucholtz9315
My Nana mopped and vacuumed 2times a day . I loved going to her house as a kid and the smell of fresh sheets when I slept over. It was nice tbh. But I'm not like that I vac 3-4 times a week.
And especially not being able to go out and buy their cleaning products which are detrimental to their health....I would rather gave dust laying around than use the products they use....
This makes me happy to know I’m living in a decent medium! I Hoover everyday, and wipe down counters, wash clothes regularly and keep the sink clear and clean 🤷🏼♀️😂 all while living with 3 big dogs, and there’s not a hair to be seen 😂
As someone who suffers from severe ocd, this makes me so sad. The genuine anxiety and almost pain that we feel from not doing our rituals is horrendous and when we see others not doing these things it’s horrible! I can’t go to sleep unless everything on my ritual list is complete.
I feel ya. I could feel my heart pounding and my palms sweeting just watching this. It gave me such anxiety. Its just our way to have a little control in a world of chaos.
@@i_luv_hecklefish 100%, i’m not even cleaning OCD. Not to that point anyway, i can be a bit funny about always hoovering and dusting. i just feel, although they’re helping people, the wee bit at the end where it tells you they’re OCD is worse, it makes me so sad as it’s slightly promoting ocd which is a devastating illness.
@@StinkySkunk100 well imagine not being able to watch your favourite movie, or play your favourite game because your ocd tells you someone you love will die if you do ! that’s the kind of thing i’ve got, mine are all safety and trying to change fate etc.
I love the man who missed university and instead worked in a grocery store. He said “I was very proud of my shelves, my area. Very proud.” People like him work hard at everything they do and take pride in a job well done...they usually apply it to every area of their life including relationships. So hey gorgeous, love from America...look me up! LOL!!!❤️❤️❤️
Even though I can’t imagine living in such filth, it’s absolutely fascinating learning and hearing about their life and their take on it. Sometimes when you just get so used to everything you just become blind and comfortable so it can take others to pull you out to show you that you can live in a better, cleaner home.
I totally agree with you, beds need to be aired after sleeping on them all night. At least an hour with a window open. Never make it straight away ever.
I can’t help but think this “OCD Cleaner vs Hoarder” combo isn’t working. You take someone who doesn’t clean, and pair them with someone who spends on average 56 HOURS A WEEK cleaning AND uses chemical combos that aren’t recommended by the companies/brands themselves and frankly do rituals that just aren’t necessary (I.e. hoovering twice a day). What lesson is that teaching the hoarder? Apart from showing them that cleaning is even more the opposite of what they want to do. They aren’t learning the basic importance, just the absolute extreme of cleaning. And watching the OCD cleaners in this episode raised questions even for me and made me want to stop myself. And I wouldn’t say I’m dirty...
i don’t think it’s so much of the a lesson but a sence of helping someone have a cleaner space.. it teaches the people with OCD that they don’t have to clean all day.. that a little bit of bacteria wouldn’t harm.. and as for the people with the mess they take a clean space out of it and also they learn different ways they could KEEP the clean space and that a little of tidy doesn’t harm.. it works both ways yk
You are absolutely right! Poor Richard hates cleaning, and Linda comes and tells him HER methods of cleaning as if they are the norm. That's not helpful! And no on should cleab their windows more than twice a year, you know, like spring cleaning and mid summer cleaning.. That's enough
@@Tayamiz I live in the desert and the wind blows a lot. I have to do the windows at least once a month or they get disgusting. I have to sweep and mop the front patio a lot too. I would love to only have to wash them twice a year, that would be awesome
@@mjlvnv I live in Jordan, desert wind blows every summer and this is exactly why I don't clean windows too often, it's useless. I'd love to see them clean, but who has time? If they are not too dirty, I am fine
I love this guy, Richard. Such a kind guy! He does things for others, without expecting anything in return. He does it for himself and no one needs to know it!
The first guy literally doing people's job for them at the grocery store 😂 Dude facing stuff is the least stressful thing to do, don't steal that small reprieve from the employees 😂
Ahahah is it bad I do it all the time as well? 🤣 I always try to directly grab the can or bottle I need, if I stand there for too long I end up facing them all the same way. That and organizing the hangers at clothes' stores. 😅
That was exactly my thought when I saw him do that, then gave him excuse by assuming he has 2 hoovers one for the bed and couches and one for the floors!
I worked with a cleaning crew several years ago for two days. Their unprofessional habits were shocking! They used the same cleaning cloth in the bathroom as well as in the kitchen! They cleaned the toilet without gloves! I was the only one with gloves. I brought my own. 😫🤢
L👀 its fine? The whole thing with OCD is that its totally fears irrational and 90% of the time, there's actually nothing to be afraid of. Therefore the logic behind the rituals doesn't always make sense. Its a little gross, but it won't hurt her and I'm happy that she's been able to overcome her anxiety in some areas lol 😂👌 even if its a bit silly.
i liked the richard story. He seemed like he understood what was wrong and how bad it was and he seemed to be genuinely grateful for her help and the experience as a whole. Guarantee he wont keep it that clean but he also wont go back to how it was
These cleaners did a wonderful job helping people in need ... The drop-in centre came up great - such an important place for people to come together and give each other support. Can't believe it only took 4 days to clean Christopher's house - I thought it would be at least 4 weeks! ... The obsessive cleaners were angels in disguise for the overwhelmed people who needed help .. great to see a happy ending ✨🌸✨
I love how this group are doing Aggie and Kim's work, continuing to keep the torch lit it's great! My heart goes out to those with OCD, it's a horrible thing. That said though Haley's bleach obsession is actually worrisome as the horders. Yes the others clean too much, but at least they use their skills for helping others with the opposite problem
I love, love, LOVE my sweet little apartment, and I keep it CLEAN! Not OCD, not OCC, but most definitely clean, neat, organized, and somewhat on the minimal side. I can't tolerate filth, although to these people in the video, my home would be "very dirty" (it is not!)
My therapist says I have OCD and only 26% of us suffer from cleaning OCD trust me I have rituals and ruminations not all of us clean like this it makes me quite sad to see the way we are portrayed in tele because it misses out the parts where our brains threaten that our loved ones will die if we dont do something a certain amount of times ( im not hating on u im just trying to educate u on OCD a bit)
Check out Anthony William's site: www.medicalmedium.com He says that the real cause of OCD is heavy metals in the body, particularly mercury. He gives protocols for getting rid of them.
One of the best and safest toilet cleaners is a combination of baking soda and lemon juice or white vinegar and scrubbed with an ordinary brilli soap pad. Works like magic with no toxic chemicals. Bleach does not destroy fungus but vinegar does. Look at that poor lady's reaction to the bleach.
Of all the episodes I love the dichotomy between Michelle and Richard. It is so wholesome and perfect. They both have some good qualities & some challenges and they bring the best out in one another.
This guy Richard is fantastic, using common sense and practical solutions whilst being empathetic and considered in his approach, making it manageable for the white haired guy. The dark haired lady seems to be good also with the young guy who had/has depression - understanding yet practical. Hopefully they'll both either ease up or tighten up on their routines
These OCD people are such sweet caring people....I love them. So caring about hopeless people....and to see them overcome these revolting environments to help another fellow human beings is truly beautiful.
Hoover at night and in the morning? Huh? So I hoover before i go to bed, NOTHING GETS DIRTY WHILE i'M ASLEEP, and I hoover again when I wake up? Really? That's stupid. Once a day is plenty.
Richard’s place wasnt even that bad it would take a few hours to clean the whole lot and shes acting like shes personally being murdered by a dirty bowl
As an American, I’m just here for the “ ‘oovering” cuz it’s just so funny how we swap words…I vacuum, you Hoover, I clean my stove, you clean the cooka, I’m disgusted, you’re gobsmacked, I get a trash bin, you get a skip, ….love it 😎

My Sister-in-law had OCD and cleaned the house twice a day, before and after work. She was diagnosed and one of her prescribed meds was Paxill. It really helped her. I could be the other half as I suffer from "slobosis" (aks bone idleness). Narragansett Bay
just cleaned our fridge and cuboards, now i wanna scrub my room that i only deep cleaned two days ago. i'd love to volunteer to clean other peoples homes in the future.
Us disabled and elderly would appreciate a helping hand! Unfortunately, I don't get help.....so I'm very limited on how much I can do.... especially with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivities).
RICHARD: Only get better for yourself. Fitting into "proper society" is a meaningless goal. "Society" is constantly changing.... And ultimately very judgemental. As you age, constantly changing gets harder and harder... Especially for those of us with depression or other mental health issues. Do it for YOU... You deserve a reasonably clean place to live. You deserve to be happy with your own version of life! 💜
I work in the food area of an aged care residence. I use a new green wipe each shift only for wiping benches, tables and fridges. I use a pressure sprayer and a nylon scourer to get food off dishes then they go through the dishwasher/sanitiser then they air dry. No teatowels or dishclothes - germ breeders. We check the use by date of every food item before use. I work carefully to not drop crumbs or spill things on the floor or touch surfaces with sticky fingers because I have to clean them at the end of my shift. We are not allowed to use bleach or mix chemicals. We have a neutral surface cleaner for floors and surfaces. We have a dishwashing liquid and the dishwasher has auto measure and dispensing of 2 chemicals. How I clean at home has changed since I started this job!
One of the common threads with people who let their houses get extremely dirty is they all have way too much stuff. It’s impossible to keep your home clean when you are also a hoarder. I think it would be good for these people to get some therapy to get to the root cause of their problems. They all seem so nice and they deserve to live a bette life where they can relax and enjoy their homes
I think the world would be a better place if we were all a bit more like minimlyst...dosnt have to be super extream but in genral money or not people just buy crap they don't need so I wish we would just stop building so many things in the world...if we don't need it don't make it...would be better for the environment too.
The smell has to be breathtaking!! Its sad to see people live like this. I really hope they get the mental help they need just as much as the physical cleaning they get. I think my only OCD thing would be, is i have to wash my hands EVERY time before i swap laundry or pull out of the dryer... i like a clean home, but i couldnt spend all day long every day just constantly cleaning. They should send michelle over to Christophers home!! Side Note: their accent is just too cute!! 😄 And Richard is such a sweetheart
All those cleaning products and sprays .... going to end up with cancer or some immunity issues and that poor dog breathing it in all day too. I could not, I would not live with someone OCD cleaning - would drive me bonkers.
Michelle is sat with her daughter looking all happy. I hated my childhood with my mum being ocd with cleaning. Could never relax , always felt on edge, wasn't allowed to touch any thing. Toys had to be kept tidy so no fun . So many rules and regulations.....trained me well for anxiety ......
I have obsessive cleaning as well, I deep clean my place twice a year everything walls floors carpets everything and in between I do small cleaning around my place and keep up with it and stays very nice and clean
I find it really funny that OCD is actually a mental health problem but most people with OCD in the show like to humiliate and bully people with depression and other mental health problems just because they are the opposite to what they consider right. I say this as someone who suffers from OCD (although not a germaphobe) and several other mental health issues including depression. There's just no excuse for the kind of disrespectful treatment they give people who they claim to be wanting to help.
🤦🏻♀️This first guy was also on a similar program with Kim and Aggy on How clean is your house? I really hope Richard the second gent got his home and life in order after this show. Depression is absolutely awful and affects each individual with it in different ways, hope everyone who took part in this series has happy lives now 💐
For those of you who do not understand hoarders;why they do what they do,hoarders are grieving or depressed,in a deep state of grief! It has nothing at all to do with the opinion that they are dirty and nasty.Usually from a trauma experience that left them with grief.
Michele is a wonderful woman how she is acting towards him, not very judgemental and caring to him then again his house isnt even close to the others but still she is an angel.
I have legitimate OCD and filth aversion as a direct result of growing up with a hoarder and a house with mould, mouse infestations, and roaches everywhere. It all makes my skin crawl. I'm trying to learn to accept the chaos because I have an almost 6 month old baby that obviously will not let me clean or tidy very much, and a hubby who is...well, certainly not an obsessively tidy person. A happy medium would be heaven, but the anxiety of letting rituals slowly reduce is unpleasant as heck.
I don't know which is worse - living in a dump or not having a life because you clean all day long.
not having a life..definitely...you can always tidy up your dump..revelling in cleaning your bathroom with a toothbrush every day won;t stop..
Pick a happy medium. There’s just no point in disinfecting the floor in your home three times a day. That’s not cleanliness, it’s mental illness.
Dump is worse
Either way, you don’t have a life really! To sad 😢

I recognize your profile pic! Reminds me that I needa catch up on my reading
everyone thinks they are the only ones with OCD to make themselves feel special. Just focus on being a better person and don't worry about what other ppl say or do.
exactly. i do not have OCD, but disordered anxiety, and it can be hellish. so people going "im so OCD!!!" after cleaning up etc upsets me.
You can’t be a professional cleaner if your going to judge your clients, you won’t be asked back, they have a mental illness. They don’t want a scolding. This is the worst possible job for real OCD sufferers. They can’t be comforting or objective, or get clean enough after spending a day in filth.
This was my thoughts.
finally someone has addressed it - also this is absolutely not the way to support someone with hoarding disorder, they're being retraumatised
Yea she was so toxic to him. She really made him uncomfortable to tidy up after he told her that he has depression
this is the show, they want them to be expressive and say it like it is for the drama. This isn't a psychology class

Richard just looks so sad, the depression is palpable.
@@theblurredcrusade.2557 keep it up dude...
Richard (the cleaner) or Christopher (the hoarder)? Richard did not at all seem depressed to me. He seems energetic and content.

After studying psychology for years I no longer believe that a person can be totally a lazy. Our mind does what it can do best. I hope whoever goes through my comment acknowledges the more the weird, angry, over the top a person is, the deeper the trauma. There is always a history to why a person is the way he is.
That gent is correct about mixing chemicals cuz essentially you could make a bomb in your toilet!
Not just pets, but any person or animal breathing in the fumes.
So you’re just gonna leave the house dirty bc of some nasty pets
It's unhealthy to use extremely harsh chemicals and have an extremely dirty house for anybody. So it's probably best to find less harsh alternatives for cleaning products. But I guess if someone a hoarder and they have a lot of cleaning products laying around that thyr don't want to out to waste. Then maybe a non-chemical but not too messy room for it would be ideal.
Also about the nasty pets thing, that's ur opinion but ppl would think that's a bit rude considering that it's a life.

Did anyone else feel the urge to cover their nose before they opened Christopher's fridge?! 😮
I do find myself leaning away from my phone when I watch certain parts of these videos. The kitchens and bathrooms are almost always the worst parts.
I actual.y pulled the neck of my shirt up over my nose.
It was Richard's bathroom for me...
I would say that Richard's stepsons are young enough to still benefit from positive role-models.
He should teach his son how to clean and organize, rather than just doing it for him and letting his son be lazy.
I never thought to hoover the dog. Genius.
I used to vacuum my husky he loved it however you need to regularly wash the dust collector or your machine will pong.

May I ask, how long your "go sleep"-rituals take you?

Even though I can’t imagine living in such filth, it’s absolutely fascinating learning and hearing about their life and their take on it. Sometimes when you just get so used to everything you just become blind and comfortable so it can take others to pull you out to show you that you can live in a better, cleaner home.
I do always disagree with making the bed as soon as you get out of it. The bed needs to be aired before it's made.
Totally.
Right, because you need to give the dust motes a fresh start on multiplying.
I totally agree with you, beds need to be aired after sleeping on them all night. At least an hour with a window open. Never make it straight away ever.
In other countries they put their bedding out in the sun. The sun bleaches them and the uv rays help kill bacteria. Imagine that.

Richard has a very calming, pleasant voice, i love it
All these people need professional psychiatric help. Obsessive compulsive behaviours and extreme hoarding are medical conditions.
🤦🏻♀️This first guy was also on a similar program with Kim and Aggy on How clean is your house?
I really hope Richard the second gent got his home and life in order after this show. Depression is absolutely awful and affects each individual with it in different ways, hope everyone who took part in this series has happy lives now 💐
A happy medium ... Is the solution.... To a happy life! 🤣🤣🤣
Richard is probably the first genuine person I’ve seen on one of these.
For those of you who do not understand hoarders;why they do what they do,hoarders are grieving or depressed,in a deep state of grief! It has nothing at all to do with the opinion that they are dirty and nasty.Usually from a trauma experience that left them with grief.
Well said.
Michele is a wonderful woman how she is acting towards him, not very judgemental and caring to him then again his house isnt even close to the others but still she is an angel.
All those chemicals, all that bleach!!! Bye bye planet :-D
3:46 Me and my mom would do the same thing if we're walking on aisle and see some empty space on the rack at grocery store 😂
I grew up in a house with someone like Richard. I have legit trauma from it. It's really not healthy
How to lose trust from your step sons - jumping in their bedrooms when they leave. PRIVACY !!!
Mishells sprays would b quite harmful. How does her dog cope?
