I chose to take this novel in via audiobook. And I am glad for it! There's just so much going on throughout the book's entirety that dividing it up like this is brilliant of you. The Count is probably my favorite character. He's unique, I think mostly because he displays such mastery in many, many areas. I love his humor, too! I know you maybe don't consider yourself an expert. However, you are an incredible teacher. Thank you for educating and helping us understand beyond the pages. I am definitely looking forward to the next one.

My favorite line so far - "For if a room that exists under the governance, authority, and intent of others seems smaller than it is, then a room that exists in *secret* can, regardless of its dimensions, seem as vast as one cares to imagine." Someday I will "find" a secret room of my own...

Really got an idea of who the count is during his discussion on what should be expected of a princess - respect for your elders; all of them.
